  1. Why would it be? The crossover should have two wires coming from it that connect to the woofers. They should be the same colours as the wiring between the woofers. If this is so in your case connecting these wires to the same colours on a woofer should bring the tweeter back on line.
  2. Playing the instrument that we do we have to constantly fight against the laws of Physics. it sucks but that's the way it is!
  3. My mind says that even though you burned the woofers the tweeter should have been protected by the crossover.
  4. Not trying to Rain on anyones parade but a 1x15 is really a poor match for a 4x10 no matter how often you see it. You'd be better off stacking the 15 on top of the 4x10. That way you can hear it's cries of pain as it fails to keep up with the 4x10.
  5. When you are purchasing anything it really does pay to shop around!
  6. Indeed I have but thought the whole movie was silly and in bad taste! I certainly have no interest in seeing it again! LOL
  7. That's what the DI is for.
  8. Why not just add a bright box to your existing system. It would cost far less than a new speaker system.
  9. Well bill I'll be eighty in January! I still can remember my "horny" times! LOL I just don't see the need for such to advertise a bass amp. Besides which the amp I use is capable of 2000W. LOL to
  10. Depending on the sensitivity and frequency response of the added cabinet it possibly could be a downgrade!!
  11. Why do adverts such as the one above have to use crudity. It certainly put me off from interest in SWR products and I'm sure there must be more of us of the same mind. 🤯
  12. You know if I had to carry all that stuff around from gig to gig I think I'd retire1! Best of luck.
  13. If you are going to pick up an extension cabinet you would be better off buying a 4Ω box for the sake of power distribution. You may very well discover that the new 8Ω box adds very little to your overall sound.
  14. Thank you Andy for putting the facts so succinctly.
  15. Using a power amp in your system is a whole new ball o' wax. You have to take into account the input impedance of the power amp and the output impedance of the pre-amp. Typically the output impedance of the pre should be far lower than the impedance of the power amp. This usually directs you to a proper rack mount pre-amp and not a pedal. I use a 2KW capable stereo power amp but I designed and built a tube pre-amp specially to drive it bearing in mind the factors mentioned above. Good luck!
  16. Retailers are free to charge what they think buyers will pay. It's also a matter of how many units a retailer sells.
  17. Physics is a pain ain't it? LOL
  18. I'm very familiar with SKB cases I have more than a few myself. I still feel the the added airflow from the front, read cool, would help with the longevity of the amplifier.
  19. Most likely two 8Ω drivers wired in parallel. The best you cab do is wire them in series for 16Ω.
  20. I found it interesting that you couldn't find a 4x12 cabinet in the UK. Before I left for Toronto in 1973 virtually everyone was using 4x12 cabinets. I owned a Marshal 4x12 with the 'bent' baffle. LOL who knew things had changed that much!! Enjoy the results of your efforts!
  21. I would lift the amp one hole as to allow air underneath the amp as well as above.
  22. @Phil Starr being a teacher is a fine and noble occupation. My Mother and both of my sisters went to Bingley to become teachers. My cousin took my class at Grammar school for English. It's surprising I didn't follow in their footsteps! LOL
  23. I have not altered my opinion. You simply do not know if the drivers are in good shape. That box could have caused them more harm than good.
  24. Yes I did but if it's for recording only I feel there are better routes to follow.
