have you noticed they are alot bigger than standard 4 string pups aswell. they could easily fit on a fit string or more...
Yeah I know the only pup that seems to be the same size is a5string bartolini! -
Does anyone know if it is possible to get aftermarket pickups for a TRB 1004 4 string
Just got a set of these, they're really good, a nice 'feel' to them, the tension is ideal for vibrato tecniques and fast fingerstyle playing, and the sound is beautiful.
They feel a bit odd to start with, just the one winding which is especially noticeable on the E and A strings.
They don't do a B or a C string at the moment, though seemingly they are going to introduce a B string soon, so I have a B and a C from a set of Lo-rider nickels.
I got them from Thomman, ordered Monday and arrived Wednesday all for £25, that's pretty good service.
Stupid question but going back to my last posting will the Hellborg strings fit a 35"scale? -
Any recomendations for strings to fit a35" scale 4 stringer
Cheers Ta!

Also, the pickups aren't bad anyway, you're better off upgrading the pre-amp to improve the tone, like I may do with my OLP Tony Levin 5.
I put seymour Duncan pup & pre-amp in my Levin and also put in a mini 3way toggle switch to change pup settings go for it its awsome ! -
The OLP MM2 4 string pup has 4 wires in 2 pairs like 2 pup`s in one cover! I replaced mine with a Seymour Duncan pup and a Villex PRTB! and it sounds much better, hope I have been some help!
Er... Not a real one. Only a Korean one. I liked it. It was thrown in "on spec" as a stalking horse when trying to purchase a Fender Jazz some years ago at the (Wapping) Bass Centre.
I got through about 25 Jazzes, and didn't really like any. The Burns was better than most in terms of sound. Feel was different, due to the painted neck.
I didn't like the aesthetic of the one I played; White and Gold Hardware (yuck.) Would've preferred a Black/Silver item- I might've bought one, then!
Good variety of sounds from 3 pick-ups. Even the "Wild Dog" setting is useable!
Edit- I am an Aries. Does that make my opinion valid in an ovine sense??
-
