1. Would never stoop so low. Not me. No sir. Seriously - no. Even though I've had my fair share of bluesy gigs - both literally and musically.
2. I would be there if London wasn't so non-central to me.
3.
I think you'll find that hasn't happened on here for 158.4 days.
Yeah, not all forums are the same luckily enough.
4.
Since when did geekage become a competitive sport?
Since the advent of internet bass forums?
5.
I love his music too. Always remember finally getting a girl called Maxine back to my digs on the day that i first heard "The Nightfly", which was a present from my dad. Even now years later when i hear the opening to the track "Maxine" it brings back memories of that summer back in the 80's.
Some say that we're reckless They say we're much too young Tell us to stop before we've begun - Great story BottomE! Love The Nightfly - it's probably the one album that has held up best since I got it when it came out. Harmonies are super cool (Maxine is just amazing), and the drums+bass playing is just WOW. Anyone who hasn't got a copy should pick one up! (btw it's Donald Fagen nothing else)
6. Wow, amazing burst!
7. Oooh, I would love to get these into my jazzes and BB's! Could you please PM me payment directions including shipment to Sweden for 5 caps please? (have paypal, would prefer that as gift transfer over involving the banks due to their charges - even though that would also be ok).
8.
Awesome bass, going on ebay for around £600 too. I'm tempted.
Yeah, they are a bargain also at that price. I got mine 2nd hand in as new nick, I'd go so far as to say it's the best bass per ££ I've ever come across.
9. My most recent addition, a BB1024X. My expectations were quite high, and this baby exceeded them by a mile. It really is an awesome bass, neck is chunky nice yet very fast and extremely comfy. Neck PU soloed gives a very organic P-style sound, adding in the bridge PU gives that classic Yamaha BB edge to it. And finally the bridge PU alone has one of the greatest burpiest characters around. Oh yeah, weight is a perfect (IMO) 4.2kg, and it balances perfectly on a strap. Try one out if you get the chance!
10. I have two, and have had another two. Fender Jazz basses all of them. Never caused me any grief whatsoever. I actually quite like the ability to tilt the neck without having to resort to shims. Then again, the ones that were off maybe got thrown away ages ago anyway - or perhaps they really are technically as good as the fourbolts.
11. Fourstring trades of interest possibly?
12. As been said, it really depends on the vibe you're after, and what other basses you have in your stable. Both would be brilliant choices in their own right. Personally, I would go for the Sadowsky if I didn't already have the jazz area covered - but since I do I would definitely go for the MTD. An MTD definitely is on my wish list for the future, the ones I have played have been amazing!!
13. Sold mine, an Aria Pro II SB-R80, in 1987/88, and missed it a lot over the years. Fast forward to the summer of 2008, when thanks to the Swedish bass forum, I got the chance to buy ot back! Here she is:
14. Roscoe basses are just awesome! One day I would love to add a fretless SKB to my stable.
15. Mine arrived just now, size is perfect and quality great, so just put in an order for two more - one White Jazz and one Black w the BC logo. Win-win way to support the no1 bass forum!
16. Congratulations on the patent, hope you get it to the market as well. There's always a need for great sounding bass preamps! Please keep us posted.
17. I'll have that green SKB please, absolute beauty!
18.
Lets have a poll! Who would buy a calendar!?
Not me. I'd get two!
19. Hey, great playing! Great choice of song as well.
20. Any trades mate? (pic edited away)
21. Hey Lysdexia, ever considered the business case for a Bass Calendar? Seriously, please give it a thought!
22. Starting out with an XL, red, Stingray!
23. I'm partial but in my experience the Sadowsky M5 has the advantage since the neck PU is pulled slightly more backwards compared w the more traditional placement on the F-bass and the AC. Also the soapbars have a stronger mid punch than single coil type pu's.
24. I'm a bit confused, did they silence you without contacting you in a thread here on BC or on their own website? Either way it's rarely a good idea to upset your customers, even if they somtimes would deserve a good bashing (hypothetically speaking, no reference to your issue at hand). I'd assume iBass will sort it out.
