The bass track is totally separate. You hear a few missed notes here and there, a glorious bum note on the first chorus... Fun. If you know it already, just mute the bass and play along with the rest of the band in front of some posters of a stage view of a stadium audience...
I have some RHCP in multitrack format and felt the same way. It was interesting to hear how all mixed sounds great even if the individual tracks all have some... uninspiring moments and downright mistakes, noises... except the drums. If anybody wants some I could post them somewhere: the whole of Blood Sugar Sex Magic album and some loose ones like Tell me baby, can't stop, around the world...
Si Jose, please, If you could post them, not sure where, it would be great...gracias!

Metal bassists - What sort of tones are you using?
PauBass replied to spiderjazz's topic in Bass Guitars
exactly. A lotta people ask me why I dont get a 5 string, then I tell them it's drop B (BF#BE) and they reply 'Oh'. it's not just having one phat string, they're ALL phat personally sound-wise I've kinda gone with the non-scientific 'plug in a Big Muff, that sounds fuzzed up and meaty' and left it at that. im long overdue for some sounds homework, but between what you get on stage/different cabs, i'm never really fully in control so as long as it's fairly reliable, I'm happy. We usually get complimented on sounding meaty/rumbling/fat, so thats cool I would also suffer from distortion getting covered by the two guitars as they're distorted too, but I'm pretty damn low n bassy, so there should be (even more) low end there. http://thorun.bandca...ck/god-particle my bass kicks this one off. Probably our best riff to highlight my dodgy timing, it's an odd bastard and im always glad when the band kicks in around me!!! to answer the OP, Distortion 3 sounds Awesome to me!!! \m/
Awesome tone dude!... Is that how you got that bass sound on the recording? Just a big muff? -
I have a Fender MIA Jazz Bass Deluxe (18v) and didn't notice any hiss in passive or active when using the supplied PSA to power the unit and using no other pedals with it. It's possible you may get hiss if daisy-chaining it with other pedals but I didn't try that. It happens with my M5 though, so I have to give it its own PSA, though in theory it's just 9v DC, it needs its own PSA due to high current draw. Not sure if its the same case with the B3...
Mine is fine too, no hiss or noise. ....this little box is brilliant! I'm getting great tones out of it, my band mates have already mentioned how good it sounds and they can't believe the price the sell for.
I have two on my board, have a bump!

Yeah they're great Chorus pedals, I have the slightly earlier one (tapered knobs), very cool Si
Thanks guys! Tom sent me a USB cable for my Zoom B3 for free and didn't even charged me anything for the postage! Thank you very much Tom, I really appreciate it.
Sadly no, luckily I had an old printer cable that did the trick and saved having to buy one, although they are only a couple of quid you would have expected one to come with it.
Thanks....it's a bit annoying they don't include it, I don't have any at home and won't be able to try it on PC for a few days now, if I had known I would have bought one a the same time I bought the B3
I have loads of them spare, PM if you need one
Yes, please....Thanks!

I received mine yesterday afternoon, I've only had a quick play around but first impressions are very good... Quick question: Is the USB cable included with the Zoom B3? I just went to set up it with my computer and there's no USB cable in the box

Pre-CBS Fender P Bass...How much do they sell for?
PauBass replied to PauBass's topic in Bass Guitars
If it helps, I paid a shade over £3k for my year-of-birth '63 Precision. An all-original would have been in the £4.5-5k range when I was looking. Si Clifton (BC'er 0353203 http://basschat.co.u...r/8856-0353203/) is your man on sourcing pre-CBS Precsions from his network of dealer mates in the US. He sourced Happy Jack's 1957 and 1965 (?) Precisions and my '63 and is a thoroughly decent guy

I second the Si Clifton recommendation. Great chap and will get you the guitar you want at the best price available.
Thanks for the advice guys...I know Simon, I have already bought three basses from him
A '60/ '61, like an early '62 would have a slab board which makes it more desirable and therefore more expensive. Also bear in mind that condition is a big factor, especially with original finish basses (less important with refinished guitars, which can be made to look mint). I would suggest the following prices for pre CBS precisions: Slab Boad - refinished £3k. Orignal sunburst worn: £4.5 - £5.5k. Original sunburst clean: £5.5 - £7k Curved boad ('63/ '64 with clay dots) - refinished £2.5k. Sunburst worn £4 - £5k; clean £5 - £6k My advice: go for a slab board and an original finish if you can afford it. It will pay dividends in the long run (soundwise and investment-wise). Johnny
Great Johnny, thanks a lot for the info. The one I've seen is not a slab board one, it's curved and it's a refinish but all parts original...I guess £3400 for it is a bit on the high side? I already have an all original '65 Precision and I was wondering if it would be worth swapping it for a refinished Pre-CBS...I'm thinking no but still having doubts about it, you know -
-
Any ideas on the money Pre-CBS Precision basses sell for?...Let's say from 1960/1961 Mainly ineterested in all original parts basses but with a nicely refinished body too. Thanks!

James bought my MXR Envelope Filter pedal and I can highly recommend him. A very easy sale: communication was excellent and paid promptly...I'll use he's own words "...he's the sort of person that makes dealing on BassChat a real pleasure" Thanks and I hope the pedal serves you well.
