Box and owner's manual included For many people one of the best compressor pedals on the market and I agree after having tried many.
The first port of call should be the shop that you got it from, explain that this one also has the same problem, and that you're disappointed in them having supplied another faulty unit. I bought one of these cabs and the LH1000 when they first came out and have never had any problems with either unit, but other than that I've got very little experience of Hartke stuff. The HA3500 is the best selling amp head in the world though, so their build quality can't be too shoddy.

Definitely a knackered speaker there dude! It sounds like you're using a fuzz pedal... I haven't heard of any of the new Hartke stuff having QC issues so you've either the victim of the unluckiest coincidence in the history of bass cabs, or the shop have indeed given you the same cab again. I would take it back to the shop one more time, and consider contacting Hartke customer support.
Thanks guys...I have already been in touch with the shop and also emailed Larry. The shop has agreed to exchange it but I think I'm going to take a refund instead of another cab, it's already been a month with no cab and now more waiting

Recently I bought a new Hartke Hydrive 410 cab to add to my rig, a Hartke LH1000 and another 410 Hydrive cab. The cab arrived, I set up my rig and started playing, I noticed the new cab was distorting, on close inspection all in the band confirmed it was the top left speaker the one causing it, the other three sounded fine though. I spoke to the shop I bought it from and they kindly agreed to exchange it for another new cab, paid for the courier shipping and all. Well, today the new cab has arrived and I've just tried it, this time with a different amp and on it's own...guess what...same problem as before! Top left corner speaker distorting and the other ones fine. I don't think it's the same cab they sent me the first time around but I can't be sure of that. Is this just a coincidence? Have I been given the same cab again? Are there any issues with Hartke quality control? Am I doing something wrong? Here you have a recording, not too good, showing how each of the speakers sound, you'll clearly notice but it goes: first the damaged speaker then the other three, then back to the first one. What do you think?
No .. all I meant was if you read the rest of this thread you would find out what a number of people think about the unit. I can't comment much about the quality without putting it through an amp, but through an amp at volume the distortions are very good and not fake sounding .. for the covers I do I use the sansamp, the boss and the bass muff, a mixture of a couple of chorus effects, the phaser, the synth (for katy perry ~ I kissed a girl {cringe!} .. it does sound exactly as per the record though) and one of the compressors. The great thing is I've spend a fair bit of time messing about with sounds etc .. but I keep finding new sounds all the time the more I tweek things .. also the ability to stack three distortions, or other effect at the same time is brilliant .. esp. when you need a totally over the top effect.
Cool, that's aIl I wanted to know, thanks!
Paubass .. didn't mean to be cheeky, but u have mentioned the quality of the distortions in particular in the rest of this thread. They really don't sound digital at all and from my experience with a number of the real pedals in a live environment I don't think anybody would know the difference. The added bonus is no knob twiddling between songs and with the mix control on every effect allows you to blend each effect with your clean sound.
umm.... a bit confused about this comment since I haven't been involved in this post...are you sure you are not mistaking me for someone else?

Yes, thanks for the soudclips, I really appreciate it...cheers! I assume that's been recorded directly into your PC, no amp/cab involved?
Yes.
Cheers...could you elaborate, please?
I shall try and do some comparision recordings of the bass big muff and small stone this weekend.
That would be great...Thanks!

Gernot bought my Aguilar DB751 and I can say It was a very smooth transaction: excellent communication throughout and paid promptly... a pleasure to deal with all in all. I know some people are reluctant to do deals with people not based in the UK but him being in Germany was not a problem whatsoever, amp well packed, he covered the costs and deal done. Thank you very much Gernot, I hope you enjoy the amp as much as I did.
