1. Bought a set of EMG Pickups from me, and it was a no hassle transaction: paid quickly, excellent communication, a great guy to deal with, would recommend to anyone. Thanks Julian and I hope you enjoy the pickups.

 3.
Sweet looking board that one. I am really interested in the Gigrig switching stuff - could you give a ball park cost of the gigrig switching unit and flightcase and any idea of weight too?
Thanks! Gigrig 14 Pro sell second hand for around £450-500, not cheap but if you consider all you can do with it is well worth the money in my opinion. I think the custom flightcase was £200 when I bought it. Once you have the Gigrig and all the pedals mounted on the board, it's heavy but manageable, you can easily carry the board in one hand and the bass on the other.
 4.
A custom build from Mal Chapman of GR cases - He build most of the custom board for GigRig customers that have the huge switching systems as well as for some complex set ups for big touring musicians. Its a huge 45" x 22" 2 tier board, built around a specific layout for my effects, powering etc etc.
Mal built mine too, I've had it for over a year and it's serving me really well. Good quality and well built cases indeed. 5. PM's replied, sorry about the delay
 6.
Any specific reason for selling after 2 mths. From memory i thought you were quite excited about them. I was thinking about fitting a set of these to my Geddy Lee Jazz but not sure. Dave
Not really, I like them a lot!... and I still highly recommend them. Right now I need something more classic sounding. At the time I fitted them to my Geddy I had a '78 Jazz that was covering that ground but I sold it to a friend....when I have another Fender I'd definitely fit some EMG's but for now I need the cash.
 7. Come on people, these pickups are superb sounding and like brand new

 9.
Can these be used with both a passive control setup and an active onboard preamp (i.e Audere, J-retro etc...)? Thanks
I haven't used them myself with a preamp but reading on the wiring diagrams provided by EMG, it says they can be used with an active BTC Control so I assume they can be used with other preamps too. They sound superb on their own I've got to say.
 10. Up for sale is this Quik-Connect J Set of EMG Pickups. They are like brand new, I bought them two months ago and have only been used for a few hours. They are in mint condition and come with all the original packaging and components included when I bought them. 11. For Sale is my POD X3 Live. It's in mint condition and perfect working order, bought here on the Forum a while ago. I'm sure you all know about this units so I'll only say what an amazing bit of kit they are, I wouldn't sell it if I didn't need to raise some cash Owner's Manual and Power Supply included. £200 and it's yours. I'm based in Hove if you fancy trying it.
 12. My DB751 stopped working at band practice about 5 months ago, the self diagnostic did his job and everything seemed to be OK but still no sound so I open it up and it was just one of the Preamp Valves that had gone bad...I replaced it and that was it. Hope this helps mate.
 13.
For starters...
Yeah, I like that one!...Is he using an old Fender Bassman?
 14.
I honestly am so arrogant that I think my bass tone is the best ever. Have a listen to this which is a recording of my old band re-recording our songs in April. There are mistakes etc but just listen to that tone!!
That's a nice tone...I like it a lot!
Right now, I am still really digging this tone http://youtu.be/sDKsosOvVmw goliath, by Karnivool! I also Really love Justins tone on Vicarious!
Really digging Karnivool's John Stockman tone too...The song "Simple Boy" has a great bass tone.
 15.
hey there... i tune to drop B (C#standard then drop the and i've had issues with the thing staying perfectly in tune, but i do have FAT gauge strings... I've had it setup recently and the action is really low. basically I LOVE this bass and will likely never swap/sell it. it's totally hefty sound and the neck is awesome. but Im wondering about changing the tuners to something that'll LOCK in tight. im sure the heavy gauge, tension and my heavy fingers are unwinding the pegs... it's not a nightmare, just needs a re-check after every 2 live tunes, but it'd be nice if it stayed in tune. btw, at normal tuning/gauge im sure this wouldnt be a problem... im not really using it for what it was designed for, but there ye go, we like it Heavy!!!
I have Hipshots Ultralite on mine and the bass stays in tune all the time.
 16.
Did it change the tone completely or did it still retain that traditional Jazz sound. Dave
It retained the sound but added a bit more clarity to the tone, a bit more modern sounding but not much.
