2.
Exactly right. Dogs exist in all eras - some say more in the mid/late 70's But there are dogs from the 60's and early 70's Just as there are decent basses from the mid/late 70's As ever you cannot generalise
+1 My 75 P bass and my '76 and '78 Jazz are all really good instruments!
 3. I don't know about other sellers but, in my case, and my defence, I'm only selling my '76 Jazz because I bought two 60s ....a '65 P Bass and a '66 Jazz! Soon my '75 will be up for sale too but for the only reason mentioned.
 4.
PM´d
PM'd back.
She is indeed drop dead gorgeous, I remember her well. Well worth the investment. Andy
She's gorgeous but , unfortunately, I can't keep both the '66 and this one.
 5. I bought this lovely '76 Fender Jazz Bass from Phsycoandy back in November, it's a great bass but I bought Simon's '66 Jazz bass and this one has to go. The bass is in the exact same conditions as it was when I bought it from Andy, in his own words and pictures...I hope you don't mind Andy) Great looking 1976 Jazz. All original, bar the scratch plate and the thumb rest, which came out of my bits box. Pickups are dated '76 as are the pots etc, original chrome pickup and bridge covers including the mute. Finish is fabulous and deep, some very light belt rash on the rear and single small wear mark. The front is as the pictures, with a small wear mark where the peculiar metal scratch plate (which was fitted when I got her) has worn away the finish on the top horn a little where it fits. At some point the pickup cover has been fitted in the bridge pickup cover position, goodness knows why! so there is one extra lower screw hole in the body (see pic 6) and some wear where the bridge cover mounted to the body( again see pic 6), these are all covered by the bridge chrome cover. There are absolutely no other extra routs or screw holes. Selling for the same price I paid for it £1775. Bass located in Hove. Happy to ship at buyers expense or collection from Hove welcome too.
 6. Turbo Rat now sold. GT2 still up for sale, price powered to £70
 7.
Its all about Elixirs for me. More expensive but most strings last me two weeks, These guys generally last closer to two years!
Go with Elixirs, they are more expensive but last longer than others brands...I don't even remember when I change them on my basses!
 8. EssentialTension, Clarky thanks a lot for your advice. Redstriper, you are right, Pino's signatures models come wit TIs, same as he uses....demo of his Fender signature here: Time to give TIs a try
 9. I'm bringing this thread back up as I have now been using flats for a few weeks, and I'm sooo happy, I'm really liking the sound and feel I went with a set of D'Addario Chromes ECB81, which are 45-65-80-100, on my Jazz bass and they are exactly what I was looking for but , perhaps a bit too much tension (...this is me just being picky now). Now I want flats on my P bass too and I'd love to try different strings this time. I'm quite positive I'm going to go for for TI JF344, 43-56-70-100, but after reading in various posts about the lower string tension I'm not sure....Has anyone tried both sets, Chromes 45-100 and TIs 43-100, and can give me some advice, please? Are La Bellas comparable in tension to TIs or Chromes? Finally, which ones, TI or La Bella, or more suited for rock? Thanks!

 11.
I'm in N'Awlins at the moment and checking the local gigs. Already have tickets for Lucinda Williams on Friday and thinking about Greg Allman tomorrow. Just spotted a 'funk night' full of bands that I know a little bit about but not a huge amount. Anyone know much about all of these? A local guy told me Dumpstaphunk were 'the nuts'
Lettuce is one of my favourite funk bands, I highly recommend them!...Dumpstaphunk sound really well too.
 12.
This may help guys (I think this is the right mod), decent demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCt1wRdnCIw
Thanks! That's the demo I added in one of my previous posts but not sure how it got deleted when I edited my post
 13.
Any chance of sound clips to show this
As said before, I've tried recording clips but my soundcard isn't working properly so cannot get anything done.
 14.
staggered at lack of takers on this.
Me too
 15. Sorry, I've tried recording clips but my soundcard isn't working properly so cannot get anything done. The chip gives the RAT more low end and definition.
 16. Great guy, bought my Iron Ether Oxide pedal, paid promptly and good communication. Hope you enjoy it!
