How did that happen? And I was actually second in line!! Seriously, I'm happy for you tho.
Just to clarify: Finbar contacted me first and the pedal is on hold for him. Next in line was you Bassnut62...I don't know where Phil.i.stein found another Oxide, it's not mine.

Up for sale is my Iron Ether Oxide Fuzz pedal. It's in mint condition and perfect working order. It's a great fuzz pedal but I'm not using it much and I need to raise some cash to cover new purchases I've made here on the forum. The pedal comes with two sets of knobs: an etched/painted set and another black. Now all Oxides come with black knobs as they make easier to see what your settings are...but with the finsihed ones the pedal looks awesome! More info and clips here: http://ironether.com/pedals/oxide/ And on this thread from Talkbass: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f36/iron-eth...de-fuzz-673555/ £105 delivered...collection from Hove welcome too.

I'm selling my american made Ampeg SVT5 Pro, I bought it here on the forum a while ago. As you'll see on the pics it's in mint condition and it's also working perfectly, recently serviced. The SVT 5 Pro features TWO SEPARATE CHANNELS: one clean and one overdrive channel. You can also combined both, for a widest variety of sounds. It also has an OCTAVE CIRCUIT and a built in COMPRESSOR. More detailed info can be found on the owner's manual here: http://www.ampeg.com/manuals/SVT5PRO.pdf It's a very versatile amp, lots of power,1350 Watts Mono-Bridged @ 4 Ohms, and it has all the renowned Ampeg tone. Include on the sale is the AFP4B footswitch, very rare and difficult to find, that allows you to select channels, combine them, control the Octave circuit. I'll also throw in the mono-bridge speaker cable, speakon to speakon, so you can get the maximum power out of the amp. Price £525 (I bought it for less money but I spent on the fully service it had done so therefore the price increase, not trying to make a profit on it) The amp can be seen, tested, collected from Hove. I'm happy to post it too but it will be at buyer's expense and risk.

After using George Ls for a long time, I have now started using Lava cables and they are so much better, more expensive too, but worth the extra money in my opinion. The way cable connects to the plugs is more secure than on the Ls, that I found often come loose. The plug and cable on the Lavas are quite clearly of superior quality and the plugs are also smaller than the George ones which saves you lots of space on your pedal board.
I've been using the Rotosounds for a few months and they're still quite bright for flats. Tension is between TIs and Chromes and they have red silk.

I found Chromes too tight and bright, so they may be exactly what you want. I've used Rotosound for years, don't seem bright to me at all, but then I've had the same set on my P for at least 5 years. With Rotosounds, the surface is a bit rough, which I like because there's a bit of grip under the left hand. Tried some Fender flats recently - cheaper than the others, very smooth surface, tension similar to Roto - and bright green silks, which are a bit of an acquired taste, to say the least.
Thanks for the advice guys. Yes, I think I'm going to give Chromes a go, tried Rotos on a friend's bass but didn't like them.

The Protec Contego, best gigbag for the money, in my opinion of course, and right in your price range. http://www.thomann.de/gb/protec_contego_e_bass_case.htm

I bought this here from Martin not long ago and it's a fantastic pedal but I don' need it anymore with my current set up and I'm sure it will serve someone well. As said, it's a Digitech Bad Monkey Tube Overdrive, modded by Humphrey Audio to eliminate the loss of bottom end. The pedal is absolutely as new, unmarked, it's never been gigged and it has very little use time. Box and owners manual included. £40 delivered or collection from Hove.

Ok, I'll put up with the silk...D'Addario Chromes then? How do La Bellas and TI compare to those?

I want to give flats a try but there's many choices out there and I have no idea which ones to go for. A few things I'd like from the strings: - I want them to have good tension so I can Detune if needed. - Relatively bright, so slap can sound acceptable...I know any strings/bass can be slapped but the tone you get is a different matter, right? - No silk on the ends please....It may sound silly but, I hate it! Which ones would you recommend? They will go on my Fender Jazz and P Basses.

I know what you mean, I also owned the same rig and I thought it was the best tone ever but the weight put me off and I ended up selling the rig.....Best tone ever until I tried my current rig! Now I run my bass through a VT bass into an Aguilar DB751 and a Bergantino NV610 and couldn't be happier, I don't miss my old sound/weight at all, my tone is a much better/improved Ampeg monster tone!
I rate the Aguilar TLC very highly. Smooths out your sound beautifully without touching your sound.
+1 Another Aguilar fan here. After trying different unit, Maxon, EBS, Boss, Demeter...the TLC is the one I'm liking the most, it's a very, very good floor comp.
Don't know for sure, but here's some suggestions: Small 'boutique' company. They're the most solid, well-built cabs I've ever used. IMO They're the best sounding cabs I've ever used. They have a great reputation, so people are prepared to pay a premium.
Spot on! My Bergantino NV610 is the best built and sounding cab I've ever used. Many time I've changed amps, effect pedals, bass guitars but the cab always stays, the punch it packs is to be heard!
