... 4) Sadowsky Metro MV4 - I think it was an MV4 anyway, Ash body, maple FB, dots & white scratchplate. The bass was obviously built brilliantly, the ash of the body and the lacquer that finished it were a joy to look at & hold, the wet-look of the body was a stark contrast to the neck though, which was a very plain maple finished in, what I'm guessing, a satin finish, almost looked unfinished, very 'matt'. The bass sounded fantastic though, it took me about 1 minute to find a tone that was very useable, thick yet growly. The preamp was extremely versatile (aside from one dodgy pot) and overall I was very very impressed. I'd be interested in trying it in a gig setting, because depending on it's sound in the mix, I'd definitly consider one.......and I hate active basses lol. £1799 though.....harsh
Sadowskys are great basses and, as it's been said many times , it's in the mix where the Sadowskies really shine so, if you liked it when you tried it, you'll be pleasantly surprised how good they sound in a band situation.

I'm thinking of running my effects into a second amp, mainly for distorted sounds. I'm currently using a Classic SVT through a Bergantino NV610. What's the best way to do it? Which amp should be enough to pair with my current amp? Guitar or Bass amp? What's the difference between using a second amp for effects or just one amp with a blender pedal? Any experiences? I'm a bit lost here so any input/advice from you guys would be highly appreciate it. Thanks!

Last night I headed down to the Concorde2 in Brighton to see Skunk Anansie. It was a warm up gig for their upcoming tour. The venue was packed as you'd expect and the atmosphere was amazing. All I can say it's...Wow!!! I was blown away, they are in top form! Although the sound could have been better, they played really well and it was a gig to remember. A couple of videos, not mine, here...not very good sound though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDHOuBEJZeM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJRg26RSLhI...feature=related Cass is an awesome bass player, I love his playing, very tasteful basslines and very tasteful use of effects...He's pedalboard was huge! Twice the one from Ace (guitar). Basswise, he used a Musicman double pickup, not sure if it was a Stingray or a Sterling, you can see it quite a lot on the second video I posted. He also used a blue Lakland Darryl Jones 5 string with rosewood fingerboard for a couple of songs. If you have the oportunity to catch them on tour, don't miss it!
I just got a message back from them saying that they have someone now.
Really? What a shame! I was hoping to, at least, do the audition but I sent them two messages since they placed the ad and I didn't get any reply at all.
I guess your settling into your berg then Pab? How are you finding it? I have decided not to part with mine at the mo, sounds too good! Good luck with the sale man! Laters.
Yes Chris, I'm keeping the Bergantino...I'm well impressed with this cab, it's smaller, lighter, louder...well, and more expensive too, but worth the extra money in my opinion. You've made the right decision keeping yours, sounds too good!
Anyone got a Berg NV610 and/or a 70's/80's SVT head they can bring along? How about a GK 1001RB or 2001RB?
Not sure yet if I can make it but, if I can, I'll bring along my Bergantino NV610 and my SVT Classic head, sorry not 70's/80's though
...the geddy lee jazz is very thin necked.
+1 I think the Geddy Lee is the bass with the thinnest neck I've ever seen, it's a shaved down jazz bass neck...very comfortable and easy to play.

I also tried swapping necks on my P and jazz basses recently and I came across the same problem but, in my case, it was all down to string height, adjusting the bridge saddles solved the problem.
