1. Hello guys, let's see if you can help me out here: I have an '08 American Fender Precision and it sounds awesome, I'm in love with this baby but now and then I wish I had a jazz pickup on bridge position installed to make the bass a bit more versatile and get that jazzy growl. As alwalys I've got my doubts and I wanted to ask you: - Is it going to affect the overall sound? I mean, when adding the jazz pickup, the soloed P pickup will sound the same or it will change the tone? - I've heard about problems when balancing the two pickups, one being more powerfull than the other, how do you guys go around this problem? - If possible I'd like to keep the P pickup, because I love the tone it has and just add a jazz one, which one would you recommend me? - Another possibility I'm thinking is a set of Sadowskys PJ but not sure if the overall sound will change too much from the original Fender... what do you think? I assume Sadowsky will have the pickup balance sorted so: https://secure.sadowsky.com/store/product_i...a328ac7bedbf83a - How much do you reckon it will cost to have the routing and pickups installed? Any other recommendations? Thanks!
  2.
You've just opened my eyes to a whole new world of jargon and acronyms! What the hell is seeding a torrent, can anyone do it, and is it considered impolite to do it at the dinner table?
I have no idea to be honest... but don't worry, we don't need to know that. All you have to do is here: - Click on the link: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/gear-shoot-...learn-pros.html - Now you are on the 1st post of that thread. - You have to download the "Download #1", which has 8 different parts to it. You just click on each link and download them directly from Megaupload. Only problem here is that Megaupload only allows you to download certain amount daily and, with just the first part, you exceed that amount. What you can do now is to switch off and back on your modem/router after you've downloaded a part... by doing this you'll get a different IP address everytime and you can download as many times as you want. - You need to download all the 8 parts before trying to extract them. Once you have them all, extract the first part, entering the password provided by the guy, and that's it. - It's a slow process and it takes time but it's well worth the wait...You have 269 songs! To open the songs you'll need a software, I'm using Audacity which you can download for free directly their site. Good luck!
  3. Carry on with the subjet and after listening to all the songs we've found so far I came across another post in another forum where someone has put together a file with all the current Rock Band songs. There you'll find a list of 269 songs, from AC/DC, Alanais Morrisette, Beasty Boys, Bad Company, Black Sabbath, The Cult, Deep Purple, ... to Foo Fighters, Police, Rage Against The Machine, Killers, Oasis, Megadeth, Pearl Jam, Rush, Stone Temple Pilots. Here is the link: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/gear-shoot-...learn-pros.html The download takes quite a while but it's well worth it. The guys explains everything on his post, how to download the files and then listen to them, it's quite straight forrward and it's working well for me but if you have any problems, let me know and I'll try to help you out. Hope you guys enjoy the track as much as I'm doing

    Cables
Their banana plug style jack can be hitty/missy with some sockets; overly tight to the point where they won't go into one of my basses and another fits BUT the spring loading action on the jack forces the jack back out after a while. I don't use em any more.
Exactly what happen to me with the last Planet Wave cable I bought. On my Jazz bazz doesn't go all the way in and on my Sansamp fits but comes out after a while and the first time was when playing a gig Since them I'm using obbm cables and they are great quality leads, last a lot... Just ordered another one today
  8. Yes, I've been a member for quite a few years but I've only posted a few times... I'm mainly a reader. I find it quite usefull, lots of good info there, huge community and, as a result, quite a few nasty people around but lots of nice bass lovers too willing to help others out. I've also bought a few things there and I've never had a problem.

Take cakes +/- biscuits.
Thanks Johnny! I'll pay Bernie a visit in the next few days and see if he has one I can try. In the meantime, I'd like to hear about people experiences with this pedal.

    EBS ValveDrive

Hi people, I was wondering if any of you have owned or tried the EBS Valve Drive... What's your opinion? I've never had a chance to try one out but I've listened to a few soundclips and I quite like it. Here: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cf...;songID=7162511 The price is a bit high, I think, so, is it worth the money? Any other alternatives that can offer a similar result?
  12. Yesterday I bought and picked up Jame's Lakland DJ 5. I can only say he's a really nice guy, he made the transaction very smooth an easy. Great communication, all round top guy a pleasure to deal with. I'm having the time of my life with the Darryl Jones, it's awesomeeeeeee!!!!!!! Thanks James!
  13. More Flea content here: RHCP Suck My Kiss Which bass do you guys think he is using on those recordings? Modulus, Stingray? Awesome tone, I like that added string noise dirtiness he gets.
  14.
Just to confirm that today, I had a PayPal transaction take place (funds paid to me) with no resulting charges. When on the send money page there are two sub-tabbed options 1. Purchase 2. Personal By choosing personal>other the result was no charge. I hope this is of help to some.
Is this just for small transactions or it works for bass sales too? Let's say £600?

  16. Geddy's tone on that track is awesome! I like it a lot .
There's some similar tracks on Youtube with Chris Wolsentholme's bass lines isolated. Maybe a good Idea for a new thread? Isolated Bass parts....
Not a bad idea, I can't find any! Links, please?

  18. Definetly For Sale, after much thinking I've decided to sell the Stingray. Interested? Get in touch.
  19.
prices always help mate
You are right, post edited. Looking for £775
  20. Up for Sale is my MusicMan Stingray HS, in black and mapple fingerboard. I bought this bass new 5 months ago and comes with the original MusicMan case and all the candy included when I bought it: polish cloth, case keys, paperwork, adjustment keys... even the labels and also the barcodes still on the bass. The bass plays like a dream and it's very versatile, the 5 way pickup selector and the 3 band Eq give you, not just the traditional Stingray sound, but also a wide range of tones. Bad point is small paint chip on the upper part of the body, it does not affect the wood, it's just cosmetic and can easily be reapired. I've got to be honest here, I have no idea how it did happen Looking for £775
  21. Execellent service, great communication and no problems at all when I needed to return an item.
  22.
It would have to be very interesting and better than the DJ.
A Musicman Stingray double pickup? HS configuration, black and maple fingerboard?
