  1. Weekend bump - titty !!...
  2. I have the 1 x 10 one of these which is awesome - so this must be monstrous type bump !!
  3. Had a reply from Rob at Status, he says it would be £325 to add frets - but I would urge the new owner to persevere for a few weeks as it is - it doesn't take too long to get the hang of it with the lines & side dots - honest injun !!
  4. Thank you, it's not an abrasion - it's where the paint has 'flaked off', the bare wood is unmarked, so it could be the grain you are seeing. No idea why the paint is flaking, it' was like that when I got her
  5. Thanks Chaps - I think the weight is around 8.5lbs, but I'll check tomorrow.
  6. As my advancing Arthritis means that I can only play for around 10 to 15 minutes a time these days, I am considering letting my beloved - all original apart from a few screws - 1968 Fender Precision go to a new home where it will be used as it should !! I have owned a vintage P in the past which was virtually unmarked and guess what? yep, didn't dare to take it out of the house, let alone 'Gig' with it! Whereas This beauty only gets better with age and use. This is not one to hang on the wall and sadly never used, unless your main thing is Mojo? as this has it in spades. This is one of the very last of the few transition jobbies before Fender changed to the more modern looking livery and still retains all the much sought pre CBS characteristics, but also has the ultra rare original 'Lollipop' tuners, which I think we're only used between 1965 to 1968 and originally only fitted to Jazz Basses. It also sports the prettiest Nitrocellulose Tort Pickguard I've ever seen which is undamaged and which my very poor photography really does not do justice to. The pickups are original and very powerfull. The neck is straight and is the 'B' profile which I find much more comfortable to play than the earlier, wider 'C' profile neck. The truss rod is fully operational and the action is very low - all the way up the fingerboard, which I believe is a very dark rosewood?? The Bridge is the 60's 'threaded' type and works fine and the Fender Decal is the original 'transition' type. There is natural crazing to what's left of the original finish, which has worn due to lots of use over the past 46 + years. However, the frets have decades of life left in them. The sound is superb and quite varied using the tone control and is a dream to play, currently sporting Status Nylon coated flat wound strings 40 to 100 gauge. Complete with original Fender case, however I would prefer cash on collection, or if you are too far away, you can arrange your own courier and pay via Bank Transfer. Would consider a Fender CIJ or MIJ Precision for home noodling or WHY in part exchange?? ps - I have the original finger / thumb rest but took it off as it was getting in the way and will be refitted. Thank you for your time and interest.
  7. You need the B profile neck, which I think measures 1 & 5/8ths" at the nut as opposed to the wider C profile neck found on early / mid 60's P basses ! Having played only Jazzers for years in the early days, this width of neck doesn't feel too much different to the A Profile neck of a Jazz to me. ps - I think the '5' on the Fender neck stamp denotes that it's a Precision, not the actual day of the month, otherwise from experience, all P basses were only made on the 5th of each month !
  8. A 'thanks Guys for the helpful ideas and waiting to hear back from Rob or Dawn' type bump !!...
  9. 'Brilliant' - thank you, I never thought of that - I'll try and find out
  10. Midweek attempting to stop the earache and price drop type bump ...
  11. 'Just been reminded by the current kitchen viper that I still owe her an amount equivalent to the national debt of a small country, from when I had to update my jalopy late last year and now she wants to update hers' - type bump !!
  12. Ashdown 15w Bass Combo, which is ideal for bedroom, living room, office etc practise and has aux. in & headphone out for silent practise. It's in OK condition and would probably benefit from a good clean. I could not recommend it for live use, unless it was a really quiet acoustic gig and it would then benefit from adding an 8ohm extension cab via the really handy ext. speaker out Jack. Only an eight inch speaker, so don't expect the Earth to move, but that's not what it's for - It is so small and compact that it takes up virtually no space in any room. £35.00 collected - or £50 delivered to the UK Mainland. Thank you
  13. Ross is a great Chap to deal with and I would recommend him to anyone! Thanks again Ross All the best, Tim
  14. Title says it all really - used, but no cracks. May be of use to someone - postage would probably be £3 - £4 ish? Thanks
  15. £35 each, plus postage - or £65.00 for both + postage Two EBS 10 inch 250w speakers, which I presume are 8ohms as they register as 9.9 ohms on my none regulated Multimeter? They are in good, fully working used condition. Any questions, ask away Thanks for your time & interest
  16. NOW UNLOADED , BUT INCLUDES HORNS - SO NOW ** £50.00** Plus postage to the UK mainland via Parcelforce48. I've had a few of these over the years and all have worked well. Very lightweight and small, just fit the speaker of your choice & away you go - all wiring and horns fitted. If you fancy going lightweight, without taking out a second mortgage, this could be the very jobbie!! All ply construction 52cms wide x 38.5cms high x 41.5cms deep - ish. All wiring and crossover in place - just two connections required to the driver of your choice. Very lightweight 2 x Piezo Horns Two 1/4" locking Jack Socket input / output Recessed Handle - making for an easy one hand lift. This cab would also make a stupendous Keyboard, Guitar or Monitor cab. £50 + UK Mailand delivery via Parcelforce 48 hour delivery which would probably be £16.40 Thank you for your time.
