Pete bought a cab from me and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to end, with excellent communication skills. I would therefore thoroughly recommend him to all BC’ers without reservation👍 Thanks again Pete👍👍

My Ashdown 60w 1 x 10” 8 ohm Studio Speaker Stool which is not only really comfy to sit on, but sounds great too & the really great part is that you actually ‘feel’ the bass while playing - even at low volume. Dimensions are 51 cm H x 50 cm Wide x 34 cm Deep. I bought this thinking that sound wise it would be a bit of a compromise, but I was so wrong! It is not just ideal for home, rehearsal or studio use, but is loud enough for Pub or smaller Club Gigs - as long as your drummer is not building a shed of course. This could be down to the build quality - (it is built like a brick Out House) and of the high standard of materials used + spot on tuning of the front Bass ports. Hats off to Ashdown👍👍 Feet on two sides. This would also be ideal to use in an orchestra pit. This is the original version with the vintage grill cloth and without the storage compartment - so is ‘rattle free’ Condition wise I would grade it as 9/10. Collection is welcome, so the buyer can confirm that it is at least as good as described, or if you are too far away from Sunny North Staffordshire to collect, I can post out to the U.K. Mainland only, sorry at a cost of £20.00 - although postage to the Highlands may cost a tad more - please send post code for a quote.

Does anyone have a set of 32” Medium Scale, stainless flats, light gauge they wish to sell? Red silks preferred if possible? I wanted to try a set on my 32” Jazz to see if l can get on with them before buying a new set👍

If only it was refinished in natural with a nice grain, a tort guard, Spaghetti Logo, not so heavy, with the surface rust removed from the pickup guard and under £5K - I’d be all over that😂😂🙈🙈👍👍

Now £325.00 This is a stunning P Bass that is in excellent condition with no damage and just very light, if any signs of normal ‘at home’ only play wear & comes complete with the original Manual + bridge & Truss Rod tools. Solid Poplar body, Maple neck and beautifully figured Indian Laurel Slab Fingerboard. The Bass has a low action - all the way up the neck with a fully functioning, easy to turn Truss Rod, straight neck and level frets. The only variation from stock is that the pickups have been upgraded to a set of highly regarded & praised Tone Rider jobbies which sound superb, providing an excellent tonal range. The Bass is lightweight & well balanced at 3.8Kg, or 8.36 lbs in ‘old money’ and plays like the proverbial dream. Having played & owned Fender Basses for over half a Century, I would happily use this Bass in any situation. Included in the sale is a door frame friendly, virtually brand new hard / soft case, however the zippers have become detached and lost. Apparently, it is possible to repair using ‘Fix n Zip’ or some such replacement zippers, but I’ve found that the two new luggage straps - included, do the job of securing it adequately. Collection preferred so the buyer can check that the Bass is at least as good, if not better than described, but if you are too far away I can post out for next working day delivery via Next Day AM delivery to the U.K. Mainland only - sorry, at a cost of £28.00 - fully insured.

Fender JB-62M "32" Medium Scale Jazz Bass Reissue MIJ in three tone Sunburst F/S, F/T Although 32” is the ideal scale length for me, unfortunately my very old ‘sausage fingers’ can’t cope with a Jazz width neck any more. Some may say, these are ‘very rare birds from the Planet Rare’ all I know is they are easy to play & sound really good. I find long scale basses are a bit of a stretch in my dotage & short scale jobbies feel way too ‘cramped’ so due to my fat fingers, long scale for me is slightly the lesser of the two evils. Second to none, Legendary Fuji-Gen Gakki build quality, Solid Alder body, Maple neck and Slab Rosewood fingerboard. The 32” scale is close enough to a 34” scale as to not feel as ‘alien’ as a 30” short scale can to some players - me included! but less of a stretch than a long scale bass. Weight is a nicely balanced shoulder friendly 8.36lbs According to the Fender Serial Number Decoder, it was made in either 1994 - 1995, or between 2007 & 2010 & judging by the darker pick guard and close inspection of the date stamp, I’m plumping for 2008. There are a few marks consistent with normal use - please see pics, but nothing serious and far fewer than you would expect on a 16 year old Bass. The small black mark on the rear of the neck is ‘in the wood’ & not damage. Comes fitted with a new set of Rotosound light gauge strings, has a low action all the way up the neck + a heavily padded, minty Atelier Z Guitar Works Gig Bag. The only trades I’d be interested in would be a USA AVRI Precision, 60’s reissue type jobbie, with a wide nut, or maybe in p/x against a 60’s P? Would prefer collection on this, but I can box & package it really well if you want to organise your own trusted courier / Man with van, or I can arrange postage to the U.K. Mainland only via Parcelforce Next day - ExpressAM + Insurance via Securus - which should cost around £35 all in.

Wow, I have a receipt somewhere from when I p/x’d my 60’s Gibson EBO + a 60’s Mustang for a Jazz Bass around half a Century ago😳😳🙈🙈…

Looks ‘opalescent’ enough to definitely be original to my old eyes plus there looks to be the right amount of shrinkage between the guard and the control plate for the age? and oh, those Lollipop tuners❤️❤️ 👍
-
Original Nitrate Guard? Worth a small fortune on its own - in my humble opinion of course 👍

Nice 25mm heavily Fender padded Gig Bag for the price of a medium padded version, if you can collect from Bracknell👍👍 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/135106811520?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=pwkaLJAZSIm&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=PjFQ1zqpS7C&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Bourns - really smooth and no noise - even with the treble maxed out! If you message John & tell him what you want - he’ll tell you what he can do for you. Can’t recommend him highly enough, his Loom has improved the sound of my P Bass a scrillion percent👍👍
-
John kindly came to my rescue - ‘once again’ & built one of his superb Looms for my P Bass. Top quality components, second to none workmanship, excellent packaging, prompt despatch, clear, detailed installation instructions so that even a ‘card carrying’ Technophobe numpty like me found it a breeze to fit literally in minutes & the improvement to the tone is incredible. Thank you John👍👍

Rich kindly bought my BF One10 from me & he was an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to end. Great Guy & very highly recommended. Thanks again Rich👍👍

In excellent virtually ‘as new’ condition, in full working order & complete with the official Barefaced padded cover. A lightweight, tiny, capable Cab that sounds great & being one of the newer fellas is thankfully, free of the dreaded Tolex peel. Bought this as an extension cab for my MB Combo, but I’m just not using it. If you are too far away to collect, I can post to the U.K. Mainland only - sorry, via 24 hour next day fully insured delivery for £19.00 Here are those specs & blurb we all love so very much…… 15" high x 11.5" wide x 11" deep 38cm x 29cm x 28cm WEIGHT 7.5 kg / 16 lbs (steel grill) BROADBAND SENSITIVITY 95dB USABLE FREQUENCY RANGE 30Hz - 6kHz RECOMMENDED AMP POWER 100-250W RMS (safe with up to 500W if you're running fairly clean sounds) MAXIMUM OUTPUT ~119dB IMPEDANCE 8 ohms One10. Not magic but it might as well be. It seems ludicrous that something so tiny could be useful and not just as a practice cab. But it is useful and rave reviews are coming in thick and fast! Comments like this: "Sounded really good in my jazz big band rehearsal! Seriously, much more oomph that my previous Shuttle 1x10" cab could do. It easily kept up with a loud drummer and 20 odd trumpets, trombones and saxophones" Do you care what's inside it? Isn't how it sounds, especially at loud volumes, what really matters? Tone - Big, warm and fat. Don't let the size deceive you. Sweet treble and smooth mids. Push it hard and it gets growly and thick. Loudness - Any jazz gig. Rehearsals or smaller gigs with typical function bands. Stack a pair to handle louder rock bands or bigger gigs. We've had a lot of bassists hear and play the prototypes in the last few months. We should have done some blindfold tests because the reactions have been fantastic - shock at how BIG something so SMALL can sound. Even more shock at how light it can be. If you do care what's inside it, here it is: Full-range 10" driver with 2" concentric midrange dome = TONE! Hybrid Resonator enclosure = big sound from a small box Very high volume displacement = can move as much air as a good 15" Large voice coil - will handle 250W all day long = loud and tough We've put everything we've learnt in the past decade into this ultra-minimalist cab. It's loud because it's clever. It's affordable because it's clever. It's manufactured in the UK, from top quality components, with very precise quality control. Before I talk about the geeky stuff I just need to say something important. I (Alex) am a bassist. Alex Bass as I have often been known. My main drive as a bassist has always been writing and arranging and recording and performing new material. I want gear that I just plug into and it works, it doesn't hold me back and it lets me get on with making music. That's what I want from every product we build - to let all our customers get on with playing music and stop having to think about gear. A bass cab that lets you do YOUR thing. It might bring its own vibe but it still lets YOU be YOU. I've had a lot of fun playing through the One10. Treat it kind and it's sweet and fat and honest. Treat it rough and it gets ANGRY. And everyone always assumes I'm playing through something bigger. Which is nice. Better than magic. Bloody good engineering. It contains a unique high output 10CR250 driver, designed by Barefaced and custom made by Eminence in the USA. The cone is very light which makes it very efficient (air is light too so light cones couple better because they're more like the air they're pushing). A lightweight cone wouldn't normally work in such a small box - look at old hi-fi speakers from the '50s and '60s - very light cones and very loud with only a handful of watts but HUGE boxes to give them decent bass. Our Hybrid Resonator enclosure solves the problem, damping the mid-bass hump and fattening the deep lows with two controlled resonances working in unison, and giving you a ton more power handling in the real bass. The concentric midrange dome extends the treble response and improves the dispersion - it doesn't sound like it has a tweeter but it has so much smooth clarity. The voice coil is pretty big (not too big because that would cost us efficiency and treble response) so it can happily handle 250W all day long. And it can really move air - it's basically like a good 15" or 2x10" in that respect.

Bought some strings from Jim. They were really well packaged, in excellent condition & he was an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to end with faultless communication. Needless to say, but I will that I would recommend him to all BC’rs without reservation. Thanks again Jim👍

My ‘68 P had a B neck👍
-
I had a ‘68 with Lollipops from the same timeline and the paint was starting to peel off on mine too (see pic) as it looks like it is on this - could have been a painting issue back then maybe? I was interested in this, but I’m too far away to collect & when I asked if he would consider posting it to me, he started saying that it would be completely at my own risk, wasn’t convinced that the homemade case would be strong enough to withstand the journey etc, etc☹️☹️
