I've just returned my HB combo to Thomann & am now waiting for a refund - less the cost of returning it. At first it seemed to be the answer to my prayers - small, light, loud - plus the fact that an extension speaker could be added for gigging & the head could be removed to use as a stand alone head to drive two bigger cabs seemed like eutopia - where ever that is? However, I noticed that when the mains lead was attached - the socket assemply didn't seem too sturdy, which is the main reason for returning it as I thought that if using it to gig with - regular plugging & unplugging would only make the unsteadiness of it worse! To be honest - for the money it is outstanding & the EQ section is quite good - however I did have to have 'everything' switched on & apply the dreaded 'smiley' to the graphic to get a sound I really liked, as the flat sound was very, very 'middley' - probably in the main due to the limited space to move air?? If you are thinking of buying one - then please don't let this put you off, as at this price point - I'm sure nothing comes close to giving you as much bang for your bucks + if it's not to your liking - it only costs arond £15 to return it to Thomman!! ps - I had none of the cutting out problems with mine by the way, but then again, it's so loud I didn't need the volume up very high for it to be heard easily.

Hi Guys, only two weeks old & never gigged! As you probably know - these are very similar to the more expensive Red Sub Combo & even more expensive Ibanez Promethean. In brand spanking new condition complete with original box, manual, etc. This tiny, lightweight combo pushes out 250w through the internal 1 x 10 speaker & 500w if you add an extention cab. But the really neat thing is that by undoing the two thumb screws each side - the head slides out & 'boomshaka' you have as good a Class D 500w amp as I've heard, or owned! It even has a little leg that screws in the front of the cab to tilt it back. Only for sale due an unfortunate change of circumstance, last blinking night - umph!! Please feel free to come & have a try out - I'm 'still' 5 minutes away from Junction 15 of the dear old M6 - where it starts to get 'a bit cobbly'. £225 firm - cash on collection please, or buyer pays postage - ta! What a great Guy Tom is! Very knowledgable & helpful - especially to us older 'less aware' types!! So glad the best amp I ever had went to a good home - thanks again Tom. All the best, Tim

Yep - I think the power & to a certain extent the tone is obviousley constricted by the miniscule dimensions of the cab, so can't I wait to 'unleash the beast' & drive some bigger cabs with it, but if you don't need a lot of volume it seems pretty good with just an extension cab to me?? Also - just thought I'd mention that due to the quietness of this unit it would probably be blinking fab in the studio??

Hi Guys, My Harley Benton 500w into 4ohm & 250w into 8ohm Combo arrived this morning - from Thomann - vor sprung etc - very quick hassle free delivery & first impressions are very good! Looks the same as the Red Sub - but is all black, which suits an old codger like me!! Unusually quiet when in operation - which is a surprise - as all the other 'budget' gear I've had over the years has tended to 'snap, crackle & pop' a bit in operation. It is really well put together & sounds very good - providing volume in abundance from such a tiny unit. Due to the extremely low price, maybe it's not as Hi-Fi or 'boutique' as it's 'very' expensive competitors - but you wouldn't expect it to be - would you?? The internal 8ohm, 250w speaker is fed from the jack socket on the back of the amp, which leaves the speakon free to connect to an 8ohm extention cab - thus providing the full 500w from the amp. Not a great deal more to add, apart from the sound is very focused - with a bias towards mids, rather than thunderous bass, but again it's only a very small 1 x 10 unit & the amp is as loud as heck + all controls work well & the bonus of being able to detach the amp from the combo & use it as a 'stand alone' Class D amp is a great idea! It even has a little leg that screws in to the base of the unit to tilt it back - so I'm thinking it would be cracking as an on stage bass monitor?? Please don't dash out & buy one just on my recommendation & on the judgement of my very old cloth ears - but if you get the chance to try one 'please' do, as in my very humble opinion I have never got more bang for my bucks during the past 40 years - honest injun!! Seems to be a bargain at £234.45 - delivered, from Germany in under 3 days - but then again, what do I know?? ps - I've just tried it with my Yamaha 1 x 10 as an extention cab & the walls are shaking - blinking heck!!

Hi Skez, The 250 has gone, but I still have the Littlemark III 500w jobbie which is brand spanking new apart from being taken out of the box & tried at home! Can't really justify hanging on to it though - especially as I found out yesterday that it looks as the band I dep. with once in a blue moon may be 'no more' !!

Here is my wonderful Jack Bass, from the 80's? in very good condition & everything works! Through maple neck, maple wings, Select EMG Pickups, active/passive switch with LED indicator controls are volume, volume + stacked Bass/Treble when in active mode. Double octave neck etc, etc. Plays really nicely, great range of tones, very light - a smidge under 8lbs (on my very unreliable analogue bathroom scales) & as you are probably aware - seems to stay in tune forever due to the Steinberger licensed tuning system, plus balances really well, with no 'neck dive' due having no headstock. Built like the preverbial tank & will likely be the third thing left after the next ice age or Holocaust along with cockroaches & Boss bedals! In really nice condition with a very few 3 or 4 small marks, which I'm sure would polish out. If you wish to have a good try out - I'm still 5 minutes away from Junction 15, where it starts to get a bit 'cobbly'!! Looking for £225 + postage if necessary please chaps

Hi Guys, usual sob story - next 'booked' gig is October & therefore as much as I'd like to, I cant really justify keeping this !! Markbass Littlemark III 500w Head - which is brand spanking new, apart from me taking it out of the box, fully testing it at home & has never been gigged. You all know this is the latest MB Littlemark, with pre/post EQ send + signal volume control - the mods that everyone wanted on the original. All the warmth EQ control & power you will probably ever need. Complete with the original box, warranty card & Owners Manual. The lowest on line prices for these new looks like they average around £550, so a firm £395 collected or £420 delivered within the UK mainland?? Voted best all round amp in a recent poll - apparently?? If anyone wants to give the Mark III a good try out before parting with their hard earned - please give me a shout - I'm 'still' 5 minutes from J15 of the M6, where it starts to get a bit 'cobbly'!!
