2. Can't believe this hasn't gone yet???
These are top cabs, this is a proper bargain, roll up roll up!
3. But 'half' would only be half as good! - Have a bump for a seriously 'full' top drawer piece of kit!
Can I just have the bottom half?
4. THAT is a great Decal - thanks for the info - appreciated!
If you're looking for a new decal try Plankspanker on ebay I've got a bass which I'm re-finishing at the moment and I had this made for it. The bass is a biddy 3/4 size which my wife bought me for Valentine's Day.
5. Thanks Musky, You are a Star! All the best Tim
In a word - sandpaper. Assuming it's an unpainted headstock, take it back using a light grade sandpaper initially, then go to a very fine grade. Finally use T Cut to buff out. Then lacquer, apply new decal (if you want one) and re-lacquer. You might want to take a look at http://www.reranch.com/basics.htm
6. Bump for an incredible Ray! - come on Guys - somebody snap this up, I've seen it up close & you will not be dissapointed! + I've not got the spare dosh & don't want to risk seeing Pete again until it's no longer there to tempt me! A really nice example of a timeless classic & then some!
Will measure tomorrow, mate.
7. Hi Guys, Anyone know how to remove a decal from a headstock? Really love this Bass, but the decal is really naff! Thanks, Tim

Good luck with the sale Pete!
Cool, thanks. Just put my sub up for sale so who knows.
10. Bump for an incredible Bass Cab! - I'm lucky enough to own two of these babies & they rock! Light, small, powerful & two stacked put out lows to die for & your amp runs at 4ohms - perfick! Good luck with the sale, if I had any spare cash - I buy it as a spare - they are 'that' good - honest!
There is no 4 ohm GS112 (with stock speaker)
Tomash

Just bought a bass from Tomash & would like to say what a great Guy he is! The Bass was actually better than than I expected, It was packaged exceptionally well & arrived promptly as arranged. Communication was excellent & I would not hesitate in recommending him. Thanks again Tomash - it was a pleasure to deal with you. All the best, Dodgnofski
  12. I had the pleasure of playing this bass 'live' back in 1983 when Pete brought it to several gigs - it played like a dream & sounded like the dog's dangley bits! If I still had my early 70's Jazz - I'd be beating a path to your door Pete ! Have a bump for a truly outstanding instrument - unfortunately I only have a Hohner B2 & Steinberger Spirit - which are great basses, but if memory serves, they don't have the same 'growl' as this beauty does & then some!! All the best with the trade/sale Pete - if my numbers come up this week, I'll see you on Monday ! Tim. ps - forget about that '80's thang' guys - 'this bass' would hold it's own in any line up - mullets or not !!
It is a weird old market for these, because despite being genuinely great basses, some people are completely dismissive of the Steinberger, although you can be pretty certain none of them have ever even picked one up. I've had three XL2s and an L2 over the years, and I still have a very rare XL-5W 5-string - I've referred to them all as my 'Marmite' basses - people either love them, or really, really hate 'em! Post some pictures. You might be surprised at the level of interest. LRH
13. These amps really are the dogs thingies ! Good luck with the sale Jim & have a weekend bump! All the best, Tim
Up for grabs is my trusty Markbass LMK 500W (@4 ohms) Amp Head. This has been my main amp head for the past two and a bit years and has served me well. For those not familiar, it has the great ability to switch between two channels or a mix of both which can be switched and muted via the optional footswitch (included). Full spec can be found here; Markbass LMK Spec It also comes with a Markbass gig bag which I've always kept it in (even for gigs) as it opens at both sides (including velcro patches so that it sticks to your cabinet head). I'll even throw in the Markbass Bass Holder (not shown as I just remembered that after I'd taken the photos) which is a soft neck holder that attaches to the side of your cabinet. (very useful). Anyway, the LMK was originally purchased from The Gallery in 2008. Very slight marks to the top cover but nothing noticeable. £475 for the full package + postage. No trades thanks. 19. Weekend bump - titty - bump!
Hi Si, According to my bass buddy (who also had the earlier cabs before these) says that in his honest opinion there is no compromise on sound with the new Neo cabs & in fact, because they are front ported - he feels that they sound even better, giving a deeper bass response when needed! I also had the original Mini's & although I've never actually owned the Neo ones, I've heard my friend use both types and IMHO I would have to agree with him - a much improved bottom end, with no loss of the punchiness & clarity these cabs are famous for. cheers for the bump, Tim quote name='Sibob' date='Jan 14 2010, 02:46 PM' post='712617'] I have the older versions of these two cabs and I love them! I'd be really interested to see how they compare tonally to these actually! Whether there's any payoff for the lack of weight! Have a bump Si
25.
I played a couple of gigs in Scotland on Friday and Saturday. I'm now using a Markbass LMK head with my Ashdown 4 x 8" and 1 x 15" cabs. Simple setup - Roscoe SKB5 through Boss TU2 into amp. Premium cables. Batteries fine in bass. I was getting a high-pitched noise through the rig. I tried going straight into the amp and bypassing the tuner, but it was still there. It's not present when there's nothing plugged in, and it goes when the bass is turned down. The ground lift switch made no difference. I'm going to take the amp and bass into our shop and try them through different cabs. Any suggestions in the meantime?
Hi Pete, I've had a thought - the amp is probably 'complaining' because you are playing too many notes & Fagen 'Mu major' patterns through it ! I never had a problem playing 'dum - de - dum - de - dum' through it, apart from it falling asleep through boredom ! Only joking me owd fruit - hope you've got it sorted, as I'm just about to trade your 12 month guarantee for an F1 All the best, dodger x x
