1. I quite enjoyed this on Max Martin: https://youtu.be/D2DHuugaxWk
2. I think these may have been made by Scott Dixon. The Scott Dixon one is about £500. You did well sir!
3.
I joined bassworld back in 2002 when there were less than 100 members. I've seen it morph through various incarnations. If you search though web archives there is a snapshot of what bassworld was like.
I was very excited to find uk bass forum 'bass world'. My enthusiasm was diminished when I discovered there were only 16 other members.....
4. Thought I sold this on Facebook, but the bloke has just messaged me to say he's skint. After £30, happy to trade for something. Its in good condition and hasn't seen much use a as only brought for a project. [sharedmedia=core:attachments:228975]
5. Good to meet you Rich.
6.
I met a fellow Bass-chatter there but can't remember his name. I saw him the other year at the Midland's bass bash in Leicester where he was playing a red Sadowsky I think, and doing machine-gun slapping (most impressive). Anyone here?
Machine-gun slapping, that would have been me. Sorry 'bout that. **hangs head in shame**
7. Surprisingly I really enjoyed Jeff Berlin's clinic. I didn't agree with some things he said, in my book thats a good thing. He's a lot less aggressive than he used to come across years ago. Great to see so many bass players out to see it. Kudos to Mark for hosting the event and for Mark Bass for supporting it.
8. I had an issue with a drop D tuner and they had one sent from the states to me faster than the vendor took to reply to my email. Quality people.
9. Yeah thats it, just so versatile and powerful. Really nice amp. When I use both of mine at the same time I either split the signal from my Cali76 or use my Aguilar DB680 as the front end as it has two outs. Weirdly in the Markbass video Alain Caron suggests running one combo in to the other via the preamp out/fx return. I always felt there was some phasing issues when I've tried this. Could just be the room etc. Using the Cali76 or DB680 with two AC combos is ace.
10. Thanks to Mark for putting this event (and the recent Norm Stockton one) on.
11.
The Alain Caron is a beast! Full 500w into the 1x12 and another 300w just for the horn It goes very loud without any need for an extension cab. Plenty of clarity from the horn but you can use the filters to warm things up if that's what's needed for certain songs or gigs. I'd take one ahead of the Jeff Berlin every time!
Agreed. I've got a couple of them (AC 121 lite) for when I'm flip-flopping gigs. Occasionally I use both at the same time. Lovely sound. One by itself is a beast. I can do a one trip lift from the car with two basses in a Mono bag, amp and another bag of bits/pedals no worries. Also it takes pedals quite well. For example when I want a more Ampeg tone I can pop a VT Bass in the front end and it sounds great. The AC feels like a nearfield studio monitor, but much louder.
12. Might be useful for some http://www.cakewalk.com/products/ca-2a
13. The venue manager should invite you to it.
14. I use a p1 and often mount it on top of a mic stand with my iPad. It has a threaded insert on he back. The built in limiter is reassuring. Not sure I'd gig with out one. Just be mindful not to run a signal that's too hot to it as the limiter is harsh.
15. Sounds like a nice usable mix. What desk are you using?
16. I have an Alto ZMX862 that I've been very impressed with.
17. Hey all, and the clear out continues. Black Fender branded gig bag that I got with a Strat. Still has hang tag. Its lived in a cupboard for a few years as I never needed it. £15 please
18. Hey All, having a clear out so a few bits need to go. First up is my maudio Keystation 49 MIDI keyboard. Had it ages, but not used it much. Good condition. £30
19. Freshers have all just arrived.

Studio Chair
I'm keeping an eye on this thread as I'll be needing a studio chair soon. My wife has stipulated that if I'm to have a studio in the house, the chair can't look like an office chair.
Thats the issue for me. I need a studio chair, but find most of them too officey or way too expensive. I guess for the amount of time I'm sat in it then I should just give up and get an office chair, but like I say, not a fan of the look/space they take up.

Studio Chair

Need a new studio chair as the current one is giving me grief. Struggling to find something comfortable, without arms, thats not ugly or crazy money. What does every one else use?
23. I've been using it on gigs over the summer, its been great. Also use the Mackie version which is quite good. I have iPad with dots on a mic stand mount, IEM amp mounted on the top of my mic stand and then iPhone resting on top of that. Works a treat.
24.
Does anyone have any experience with Rev33 units? I've had one delivered today and just wondering if anyone else has used them.

I know of the Rev33 - I nearly bought one but not heard one - I'm a bit put off that they are tuned to the IEMs you have... which means if you change your IEMs, the Rev33 then becomes sub optimal. I know they aren't crazy money though, especially when you consider the costs of some of the IEMs that we are using. A couple of guys I know who have them swear by them though - say that their ears feel a lot less fatigued after a gig. Mind you, I don't really suffer with ear fatigue after a gig... and even if I do, it's nothing that appears to bother me! Still, would love to try one out - after all, the proof is in the eating of the pudding... or something like that.
Some limited stuff about the Rev33: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zt4hDq0LA8Y
25. Yeah you could do that. But it's an extra piece of gear to carry/set up etc. As nearly everyone I play with uses digital mixers I decided that bass di into PD out to the Foh mixer would provide a more immediate response through the KT platform. In reality I doubt it makes any real difference, but you know........ A drummer I work with has just purchased th gigster and loves it.
