Howdy! I purchased this from a fellow basschatter ,and have used it in band practice about half a dozen times no problem. I have also used this at home quietly a few times no problem. I purchased the Aguilar DB112 Cab new from Bassmerchant . I do play with amp ontop of cab,but I took feet from an old electrical appliance and these fit good giving the amp breathing space etc. I like to use the amp freestanding ,and not in a rack case as I believe possible overheating could damage unit. Tonight, all of a sudden a frying noise is coming from amp. (similar sound to when a battery is running low on an active bass). I turned knobs, switched amp on/off a few times and I get sound briefly. Then it cuts out. I 'll probably take it in to be repaired (denmark street) Please could you reassure me that it's only a small problem I have with this, and that it won't cost a fortune to repair? Any advice appreciated. Cheers Ray
Aguilar have ace cust services, it might be worth you dropping an email to Geoff at Aggie:)

I have my AG500 dual channel in an Aggie 2u rack bag, it doesn't get very warm, maybe as it's digital? Unlike my Aggie Valve rig which gets v.v.hot if not ventilated. I have a spare Aguilar 2u rack bag I need to sell if your interested:)
Hey I'll add my stuff - nothing too fancy but here goes: Apple Intel iMac 24" - with 4GB Ram, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.8 GHz, 800 MHz Logic Studio Pro 8 (will probably upgrade to 9 very soon) BFD 2 Ozone 4 M-Audio Keystation 49e Mackie Onyx Satellite Base Sation Pair of KRK Rokit 6 active monitors Very good Sennheiser Mic (can't find exact serial) Plus Sei basses and Epifani 502 UL Pedals and stuff All that is enough for me for now - obviously I'd love more stuff but it's a good quality set up that is just right for me to compose and record and get really high quality results Cheers Mike
I have one of the Mackie Onyx Satellite's, I really like it, very surprised actually. How do you find it?

Hi Guy's, We have decided not to have a TV for a while (long story) so if any wants a mint condition 28" Panasonic Quintrix TV with rear surround speakers, centre speaker and stand feel free to let me know:) Here's one I found on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...bayphotohosting Also have one of those cheap Dual DVD players (no remote) as well. If you have any Bassist or Bass Player mags you would like to leave in it's place that would be cool, no worries if not though:) Cheers Lee
Here is mine: Based around an 8 core Mac Pro and Pro Tools LE System it can track up to 18 channels at once. Lots of plug ins from Waves, PSP and the Uad PCie system. Speakers are Dynaudio BM5a. In the 'tracking rack' which gets used on location lots is the Digi 003 sound card with Focusrite Octopre and RME mic amps giving me 16 channels. For bigger jobs I get a PT HD 3 rig which takes me up to 48 channels. The mix rack (which is static) has my Ampeg SVP pre amp and API lunch box with 560 EQ and 525 Compressor (they are brilliant). Also in there is a little DBX 163x compressor which actually belongs to stonecoldbass until I give him some pennies for it. Not pictured is a Boss 1/2u EQ and TC M-One FX unit. I also have about a dozen mic stands, 24 xlr's and other bumph for tracking and the mic locker has a pair of AKG 414's, a Rode NTK, Rode NT5 pair, 58's, 57's, E604's, D112 etc etc etc.... For a better idea of what I use it all for check out www.c-p-productions.com G
I love the 500 series stuff, I think more people will be using lunchboxes in the future. Urb; I'm a Logic man too, use both logic 8 and Protools HD at work and like Logic 8 so much more (just personal preference), looking forward to our Logic 9 upgrade:)

+1 on the Sennheiser headphones, all our students get given a set of HD202 at the start of the year, I have about 5 different pairs, but my hd280 pros are my favorite for blocking out the rest of the world.

I play in a RATM tribute, it's great fun, some fantastic bass work on those albums. The stuff that goes down best is every thing off the first album, most peeps don't seem to know the later stuff. It's a shame as there are some great songs later in their career. How ever most promoters at bigger venues want two hours worth of stuff, so we play most of their tracks. Playing RATM energetically for two hours is a bit of a killer though, there is a reason Rage don't play for that long often:)

Just brought a Lakland 4-94 from Terry, he went out of his way to meet me at a service station. Top bloke:)
For sale my Lakland 4-94. I bought this bass new from the US about three years ago. It was my main gigging bass for some time. The tone is one of the best I have had from a bass. It has the Lakland LH3 preamp and pickups. It is beautifully crafted with incredible attention to detail, it is also very light. I have owned Lakland skyline models and IMO there is a considerable differnce between sklyine and US models. As stated this bass has been gigged and there are a few very minor marks (belt scratches etc) but nothing of any significance and I would say the bass overall is in very good condition. The case also has a few marks but is in good condition. I also had an aftermarket pickguard fitted ( my design - wanted it to look like a stingray but sound like a lakland!) which had different holes for screws so there is an extra hole near the volume control (from original scratch plate) the original is included (black) PLEASE READ BELOW Whilst using this bass at a gig it developed a significant earthing buzz ( when you touch the strings/hardware it stops) it really is quite loud and can cause problems if you are playing through a big rig) I contacted Lakland who were great and suggested I use the Bass gallery and lakland would pay for repairs under warranty. I sent the bass to the gallery and after discussion with them it was decided that to resolve the problem the preamp should be replaced. Lakland sent a new LH3 preamp to the galley who fitted it and sent the bass back to me. Tried again no difference - still buzzing. After several more conversations with Lakland and the bass gallery and mainly due to time contstraints on my part, I gave up, and the bass has sat in a case ever since. I am pretty sure this is not a major repair and that for someone with the time and inclination (and access to a good luthier) this will be easily sorted. I do not currently have the time or inclination to pursue this. I would normally be looking at somewhere in the region of £1250 for this bass but taking into consideration the issues explained I am offering the bass for sale at £900 delivered. I think this is fair but welcome any comments on this as always. I cannot give any guarantees on the issue raised. My thinking however is that if the worst comes to the worst you could install new preamp and pick ups of your choice for the difference and have a really cracking bass.
Ah i thought it would just be the same model. If it's anything like the one featured on the site this has surely got to be an absolute steal. The Stagg and Thomann ones are over £300
Here's a pic of mine, it's got an ebony board not wenge, so this supports that paul has made few different ones (I think he said less than 10 or 12 the last time I spoke to him) I need a gig bag for mine if any one has one

Does he have any thing else for sale??

If you meet the criteria to join both now do it asap. It's amazing how much money goes unclaimed every year. You should also look at the PPL as well.

BMI ASCAP and SESAC are all American collection agencies. You should have a look at The PRS for Music (the alliance of MCPS-PRS) as this would fit your needs better I suspect. Hope this helps.
Thanks Lee, I'll get back to you when there's a chance I could get up to your neck of the woods. Which model do you have?
No worries mate, I'm in Leicester quite abit as well. I have a NYC Jazz with an epoxy board and VTC fitted.
My fellow band members have asked to try and get some advice on getting a demo cd mixed, anybody know of a good cheap reliable studio with an engineer, around the leicestershire area
Adam at Deadline is good and a nice guy. Further up the chain is The Paddocks, lovely desk and surroundings.

I've just requested one of these at work, I expect I'll have to wait a couple of months. Looking forward to it though. Will post a video when I get it.
Not too close..... if it pops..... don't say I didn't warn you....
I agree, I wouldn't put it too close, however the sigmas arn't like old Ribbons, they can take a little more abuse (hence why we brought them). However Crez5150 is right, be careful, start at a distance and work in, always a good rule of thumb any way. Lee

I've had both the Incase Tour bag (got stolen!) and the Sadowsky one that's almost the same, I think they are both great. Expensive though. I also have a Sadowsky branded Moridian gig bag as well, it's nice and thick, but still light so i can carry an amp on the tube.

Not used it on bass before, but we have a couple of sigma's at work and I have been pleasantly surprised by the result. Nice vintage tinge to the sound.
I got it in Doncaster ElectroMusic for £1000 about 14 years ago the first Sadowsky I had ever seen and sound fantastic.
I remember that being for sale, was that really 14 years ago
