  1. I'm feeling swamped with gear. GAS is a sickness. I know I might regret it later.
  2. Lockdown has meant that I've brought loads of my gear home/out of storage. It's been great! But, I've have started to realise how much has amassed over the years. So, going to start putting some bits and bobs up for sale. This can be filed under things I thought I sold ages ago. Comes with a tatty but functional hard case.
  3. Recent purchase this. I've wanted one of these Graceland model Washburn's for ever. Bakithi Kumalo is one of the reasons I picked up a bass guitar in the first place. It's a lovely instrument. But there you go Lockdown has meant that I've brought loads of my gear home/out of storage. It's been great! But, I've have started to realise how much has amassed. I've played this bass loads over the last few months.
  4. Lockdown has meant that I've brought loads of my gear home/out of storage. It's been great! But, I've have started to realise how much has amassed over the years. So, going to start putting some bits and bobs up for sale. These are great. Low action, big tone. It's in great condition and comes with the OHSC. Had a few questions about the weight. Its 3.55kg or 7.82lbs. It's at the lighter end of this particular range of basses for sure.
  5. Lockdown has meant that I've brought loads of my gear home/out of storage. It's been great! But, I've have started to realise how much has amassed over the years. So, going to start putting some bits and bobs up for sale. This is an early MusicMan Stirling. Almost 30 years old. It's been well gigged before my custodianship. It's got a John East musicman pre and Seymour Duncan pickup. It's really easy to play and the neck is the best of any MusicMan I've had. It needed quite a bit of love to get it right. When I got it there was all sorts of electrical issues and needed the frets sorting. It cost a few hundred to sort in the end. It's not mint, but it is amazing.
  6. Lockdown has meant that I've brought loads of my gear home/out of storage. It's been great! But, I've have started to realise how much has amassed over the years. So, going to start putting some bits and bobs up for sale. This unit is great. Just been racked in my studio mainly.
  7. Don't think so. Just looking through my emails and think it's a first gen?
  8. Lockdown has meant that I've brought loads of my gear home/out of storage. It's been great! But, I've have started to realise how much has amassed over the years. So, going to start putting some bits and bobs up for sale. This has been heavily gigged and was refinished with a rattle can by a prev owner(!?!!?). Passive with Aguilar Super Singles and 18mm spacing. 8.3lbs in weight, so pretty light. Sounds like an old jazz on steroids. Big and fat, but clear and focused. These are £2k new, but it's covered in marks and the refinish is poor. I've had it years. Seems a shame to leave it in its case. My original plan was to spend a couple of hundred refinishing it. But, actually quite like how it looks. It plays so well, it's up there with my Sadowskys.
  9. Lockdown has meant that I've brought loads of my gear home/out of storage. It's been great! But, I've have started to realise how much has amassed over the years. So, going to start putting some bits and bobs up for sale. Next is this Sire that I brought to leave at college to teach with. I brought it home during lockdown and dropped in a John East U-retro. I always thought it was a good sounding bass before, punching well above it's weight. The new preamp makes it way more versatile than the stock one. Have still got the pickguard some where. Btw this one doesn't seem particularly heavy. Gen 1 I think? It's been well gigged by the previous owner. Natural reliving! I can see why, it's awesome.
  10. Lockdown has meant that I've brought loads of my gear home/out of storage. It's been great! But, I've have started to realise how much has amassed over the years. So, going to start putting some bits and bobs up for sale. Next is this Fender Mustang PJ. I had some bits lying about and decided to turn it into a bit of a project bass. It always felt like it had more to give, with a few mods it turned in to a smoking good instrument. Specs are: Sonic Blue (a bluey white colour, it's not white!) Nordstrand PJ pickups as the originals are rubbish (particularly the j). Gotoh bridge La Bella flats Nut recut properly (again, not cut right out of the factory). As with all my gear gear it's been gigged, but well loved. There will be signs of usage. These instruments have a good reputation, with the mods this is now killer.
  11. Lockdown has meant that I've brought loads of my gear home/out of storage. It's been great! But, I've have started to realise how much has amassed over the years. So, going to start putting some bits and bobs up for sale. Next up is this awesome Anaconda j4 elite. I had no intention of buying anything at the London bass guitar show a few years ago. Andrew who builds the Anaconda basses here in the UK gracefully let me try this one as I was thinking about a custom build. I brought it on the spot! It really is astonishing. A new one at the moment is north of £2.5k Specs are: Roasted Birdseye maple neck Ebony fingerboard Liminlay side dots Wenge facing Brazilian mahogany back Bartolini Tonestyler passive eq Series/parallel/single coil switch for each pickup Locking neutrik socket Gold hipshot USA hardware As with all my gear it has been gigged, but loved. There will be marks from usage etc. This is in very good condition. Priced low for a quick sale, before I change my mind.
  12. Lockdown has meant that I've brought loads of my gear home/out of storage. It's been great! But, I've have started to realise how much has amassed over the years. So, going to start putting some bits and bobs up for sale. First up is this amazing Zon custom 6. Specs from memory are: Spalted maple top Graphite neck John East U-retro Bartolini pickups 34" 16.5 mm As with all my gear it's been gigged, but well loved. This bass shreds. Super low buzz free action. Resonant, not heavy and alive. No dead spots (that will be the graphite). It's insured for £6k, which you'd be lucky to order one for now + crazy long wait. Priced to sell to make it quick and less painful.
  13. Hey, not sure as I've not removed them. It looks like the covers are removable.
  14. Brought this for a project that's not happened/stalled. It's a British handwound humbucker that were quite in demand (if internet forums are to be believed). £30 + shipping
  15. Dropped a J Retro into my Sire V7 so this is available. It's a great sounding pre, but I already had the J Retro so I thought why not? Comes with knobs and bell plate. £40 + shipping
  16. Agreed, they are awesome. Got it sorted, was a dry joint on the sire jack.
  17. Hey has any one done the above mod? I could do with some guidence in regard to the wiring from the jack .
  18. Just picked up some stuff from my storage unit and was reminded of this. Hit me up with offers, also have an iPad and apple router as well.
