  2. Managed to get the body all cut and sanded today, the back rounded over and started on the belly carve and the detail on the back of the neck pocket which is turning out to be harder than I thought! Will start rounding over the top tomorrow and post pics of how its turning out 🀞🏻

  5. My opinion would be no scratchplate it would be a shame to cover up that lovely figuring and if I see Tort I come out in an itchy rash!! 😁 Are you based near Colchester just wondering because of the names of your basses Iceni and Boudicca have strong links with Colchester?

  11. Finally got round to starting this couple of changes tho.......... Its going to be a corvette shape and I'm using a old Ibby 5 string neck that I'm going to cut and splice some timber on the sides of the headstock so I can reshape it to more like a Warwick style Had a little play with the grain filling and I think it will look good in the end? The Sapele blank is gluing up now so I'll rough cut the shape tomorrow then hopefully get the cap glued on aswell πŸ‘πŸ»
  12. Almost finished! I think I'm going to keep the pickguard on πŸ‘πŸ»

  14. I'm still on the fence to whether I like it or not with the pickguard on? I'm gonna wait till its all back together before I decide to keep it! πŸ‘πŸ»
  15. After seeing @Peter Popovic refinish his lefty version of this bass it inspired me to refinish the lifeless flat finish on mine but I went down a slightly different route and went for a solid colour, I really liked the colour of the telecision bass build so I went for that colour again Before........ After......... I made a quick pickguard for it to see how it will look and painted it black if I decide to keep it I'll make one out of black plastic instead?
  16. I must be getting a bit more reserved in my old age or it could be that the bold colour schemes I did looked a badgers derrière so time to tone it down a bit 😁
  17. I decided in the end to paint the body an Olympic White-ish colour I think its come out ok? I'm think black hardware will look good? πŸ‘πŸ»

  24. If I was making the body out of a nice bit of Ash etc then that would be an option but its made out of a old scaffold board so I've had to do a lot of filling so its going to have to be a solid colour and I've got some satin White at work πŸ‘πŸ»
  25. I'm really struggling to find the right butterscotch colour thats not nitro so i think its going to end up being white instead
