  1. I've been thinking about the half and half pickup problem I suppose I could try and do it a bit like this and kind of make a feature out if it
  2. The only problem with that is it will be half on and half off the pickguard, would that look a bit pony!?! đŸ˜ŗ
  3. @JohnDaBass you were right the 2 outer poles aren't going to be centered with the strings on the neck pickup they will still be on the poles tho, if it is only for aesthetic reasons I can live with it but do you think it will it make a big difference to the sound?? If it is going to be a problem the way I see it I've got a couple of choices...... 1. Only have 1 pickup (where the bridge pickup is, is that too far back far only 1) 2. Move the pickup back so its not on the pickguard (so it will probably end up like a Corvette $$) I didn't really want to buy a new smaller pickup (e.g Jazz) but if that's the only other option then I'll have to......... ☚ī¸
  4. The neck pickup isn't in it's right place yet so when it's fitted it should line up fine, also the bridge pickup needs to be routed out a bit deeper....... I'm in two minds whether to do it 2V 1T or just 1V 1T? 🤔
  5. It's just matte black paint but I can see what you mean it's going to have a top coat of satin lacquer on it once I've routed it out...... I really like the look of them I thought maybe 2 would be too much but I think they look good 😀
  6. Pickups turned up today so I've routed out the body just got to do the pickguard now! The top need another coat aswell so I'll do that tomorrow 😀
  7. Purchased a set of individual saddles from Mick He posted them out very quickly and for a very reasonable price! Very happy as they are exactly what I was looking for! Thanks Jim
  8. It's funny you say that I've been told in the past I'm as stealthy as a killer whale!! And yes you may christen it the Orca(ster) Bass!! 😁 I agree that would look nice with hidden pickups but I've got another build in mind which I was going to go down that route a semi hollow with piezo pickup possibly under the bridge I am going to call on Jez or Andy's expertise when I come to tackle that!! 🤔
  9. Here's an updated picture The chrome knobs are just temporary they are just there for visual effect! I definitely prefer this in white than the black 😀
  10. I finished painting the body white today just letting it dry over night and I take some pictures tomorrow....... I think it definitely looks better than the black!! Still waiting for the pickups to turn up had a message from the seller saying there's been a delay and they will hopefully be with me by next Monday?! Which is a pain as I wanted to finish the routing this week!!
  11. In my opinion the only option would be black pickguard with Sunburst body and maple fretboard........😀
  12. I like it no pickguard with cuff 😀
  13. I thought I'd have the same problem so I've done an arm carve on mine but more importantly I had to add a belly carve because my belly is quite big!! 😁
  14. Yeah but with a 72 style pickguard!! Very nice is that yours??
  15. I've read that some people consider CADG as drop C like drop D is DADG but hey ho This is what I've used to play little monster
  16. If i do a build where I don't changes the plan halfway through I think you'd die of shock đŸ¤¯ But I've decided on the next build I won't stipulate anything it will just have the title 'Bass Build'!! 😁
  17. I had the body all sprayed up black and I dry fitted everything but it just didn't look right? I loved the look of the one in the picture but in the flesh not so much so I've decided that White body, black neck and pickguard with black hardware is the way to go
  18. All the tabs I've seen for little monster is CADG which I suppose could be drop c tuning depending on what your definition of drop c tuning is??
  19. It is a big step but that's the tuning to play Royal Blood stuff
  20. I'm a bit lazy and can't be arsed to keep drop tuning my basses so I have 1 kept at standard tuning (also drop D), 1in Eb tuning and 1 that I might keep at C A D G tuning as Im playing more stuff in that tuning but I'm finding the E tuned down a C far to floppy would it be better to put a B string on it and tune up to a C instead so the tension is better or would that put too much strain on a standard 4 string neck??
  21. @Johnny Wishbone just saw this on ebay don't know if its any good to you as its got the vintage style headstock but it's maple board? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F392132491696
