  1. I really like the yellow one!! I've just done a bright orange Jazz but was considering bright yellow but I might do that on a 5 string Jazz I've got planned Watching with interest to how these turn out 😀
  2. That's a good shout but also buy good quality tools as it's a lot easier to get them and keep them sharp like my Marples are about £70 a set and keep an edge relatively well but my Ashley Iles are outstanding which were £140 a set and go through Oak and Wych Elm like a knife through butter 😀
  3. Is that a typo did you mean to put UUUURRRGGGGHHHH!! instead of OOOH!!! 😁
  4. I agree with everyone else it's about time you get to enjoy the fruits of your labour, Ive always wanted to try and make an acoustic bass but the bending of the sides and making the neck scares the s**t out of me so I'll be watching this with interest, Also I hadn't seen the thread for the dreadnought build but that looks stunning 😀
  5. Sorry! 😁 I think with 2 humbucker pickups like rubis said with With this kind of finish
  6. Is that how you got your name?? 😋
  7. Not if you wet sand after a couple of coats then just final colour coat or are you clear coating aswell?
  8. As long as the necks straight and undamaged I'm sure you won't have too much problem sorting it out I think if you get yourself something like a dozuki saw that would make it easier doing the re-fretting
  9. I see what you mean about the neck it looks really blurry 😋
  10. I've got too many other projects on the go and not enough funds to complete them so I've decided to sell this body if anyone is interested pm me for more details and maybe a cheeky offer? 😀
  11. Looks great!! I love the black binding!! Now you've got me gassing for a '51 😀
  12. Mine are no way as nice as most if the others on this thread but here's mine Soon to be a couple more when I finish making them And sorry about the terrible wallpaper!! 😁
  13. Yeah I noticed that aswell as I said in my previous post I might be wrong and it turns out I am 😀 But saying that on lots of other forums everybody says that you can't spray cellulose (spirit based) over acrylic (water based) as it will craze and crack?? I think the best option is try for yourself and see what happens
  14. Yeah I think @Reggaebass is right Halfords do sell a cellulose primer https://www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-body-repair/car-spray-paints/halfords-primer-white-500ml
  15. I think your right it does look better on the other one
  16. Or would the bridge cover look better on my other P??
  17. I could live with that, Happy days!! 😁
  18. I'd go for White primer if your top coating it White you normally use grey if your top coating black, I think hycote paints are acrylic and as far as I understand acrylic and cellulose don't mix but I could be wrong?
  19. So do I! I prefer Fender type basses painted and chequered in some way but I prefer non-Fender natural wood or veneered like my ibanez and Tropia bass build...........
  20. The bridge cover turned up today but I'm in two minds whether to use it on this build, I like it but I'm not sure?
  21. Where did you get that photo of me from my missus said she had deleted it!! But don't you hate it when you put your trousers on the wrong way!?! 😳 Hang on I've just thought of a million dollar idea changeable zip up guitar covers (patent pending)
  22. Yeah I'm wondering what I can chequer so they all match!! 😁 What do you take me for a strap that doesn't match your bass philistines!! I've got three of them they're just not in the photo!!
  23. I got about 10mm before it started bunching a bit on the horns but I was lucky I used self adhesive vinyl so when it cooled it was still sticky 😀
