  1. Can’t wait to see these take shape they are stunning basses
  2. After all the deliberations and colour changes there’s something about it that I don’t like whether it’s the pickguard shape/colour I’m not sure, but I’m going to be putting a new pickguard on it and make it into a P/J instead I’m thinking Orange will look good
  3. I can’t bring myself to replace the body on this P bass This was the first bass I bought when I decided to start trying to play again For a cheap £25 unbranded bass it plays and feels really nice So this is now going to be a new build instead I’m going to try and do this as a 5 string thru neck so I’m gonna need some advice when I get round to starting it
  4. That’s the image I had in my head when I was planning this build, I’m glad I decided to put a pickguard on it!! @Andyjr1515 your right for just a little thing it has completely changed the look
  5. Or I could have a wooden pickguard?? I think I prefer this one to the white.........
  6. That’s kinda the look I was going for but not in the standard white and black I found some white polycarbonate kicking about so I thought I’d make one I really like it with and without I think I’ll just not screw it down and see how I feel in a few days
  7. Almost finished glossing this one it’s been flattened just got to buff it now but........ When I first did this build I was toying with the idea of having a pickguard on it then I went away from it now I’m thinking (not that it needs it) it might look nice with a white or cream pickguard on it here’s the rough shape it might be....... What does everyone think?? Opinions please .........
  8. Just a quick pic with the rest of the family........
  9. Thanks mate I’ve just got the 5 string build to put back together after glossing it then I’ll be making a start on the next one (the single cut)
  10. I know what you mean my arms get tired carrying my soap box around with me all the time
  11. Yeah I know I was only joking because you seemed to feel quite strongly against matching headstocks
  12. Thanks mate, I think it ties it together but I don’t think @discreet would agree
  13. Virtually finished just got to do a setup and sort some of the electrics out...........
  14. Great job that looks lovely!!
  15. Sounds like a couple of nice projects looking forward to see them progress
  16. No worries @Andyjr1515 glad I can share my wisdom
  17. I managed to get the sratchplate fitted just got to drill the control holes next, I learnt from my mistake on the last build when positioning the bridge I’ll hopefully get it finished tomorrow on my lunch break
  18. Sorry @BrunoBass for the thread hijack
  19. There’s a few videos on YouTube about it but it’s really simple: 1. You print off your logo on normal paper using a laser printer (won’t work on inkjet) 2 Cover your printed logo with sellotape then using the handle of the scissors rub the sellotape for about 1 min making sure all the sellotape is firmly stuck down and there are no air bubbles 3. Cut out the logo leaving a few mm’s round the edge 4. Put the logo in cold water for about 5 mins if it curls straighten it out again 5.Carefully rub the paper off the back of the sellotape and you will leave just the logo on the sellotape (if it feels slightly gritty then put it back in the water and carefully rub it again till you don’t feel any grit) 6. Wet the sellotape again 7. Place on your headstock or wherever you want the logo to go and blot with some kitchen towel remove any air bubbles and excess water then leave to dry 8. Once dry you can then apply your finish and flatten the same way you would a water slide decal See it’s simple and a very cheap way to do it In the style of blue peter here’s one I did earlier......
  20. And mines more suited to a seedy back alley bar!!
  21. Thanks I’m glad I ended up changing my mind so often about colour choices! The only reason why I thought about changing the neck is because of seeing this one.... But the Rosewood is growing on me now, it provides a little bit of contrast with the white body.......
  22. My shout goes to this.....,, https://m.thomann.de/gb/warwick_gps_corvette_5_fl_bubinga.htm?o=1&search=1526818152
  23. Thanks I think I’m going to keep the white headstock for the time being till I buy my new maple/maple neck
  24. Here’s how it looks.......... I don’t know whether to keep the matching headstock I kinda like it and it doesn’t really look out of place??, but..... would it look better maple??..........
  25. I’m going to get a maple/maple neck at some point for this build but I’m just going to get it finished with the neck I’ve got for the time being......
