  1. I just wish my knob was that big!!!
  2. I’ve been looking at body timber/finish options for this build and I’ve decided on Red Grandis body (because I can get it very cheaply) with White Macassar ebony veneer front and back...... Or Pine body with Wenge veneer front and back (cheaper option).......in case you haven’t guessed I’m looking for a nice contrast Then probably a wipe on poly finish
  3. Im sure you don’t really mind!! I think swifts on top and maybe some MoP filigree round the sides!!
  4. I thought you never take the easy option!!.....
  5. Very nice!!! TBH I’m not keen on the MoP inlay but each to their own
  6. Yeah it was fun building it but it was just a test that didn’t turn out quite right for me so I’ll have to wait and see if the new shape/size is better
  7. No your right I wouldn’t!!!!! Any more of that talk and I will report you!!!!!
  8. The body is just too small it feels like Im playing a uke (one of the reasons I would never buy a violin bass) By the time I had tweaked the template to fit the ibby body it worked out about 30mm top and bottom smaller and about 25mm shorter than the original body
  9. Thanks that’s the style I’m going for but because it’s not a Warwick I didn’t want to put any Warwick branded items on it Thanks again anyway James Sorry that was supposed to be a PM
  10. Why would you say such a thing!!!!! The example looks nice......
  11. I’m going to remake the body on this as the shape and size doesn’t feel right so I’ve decided on doing a Fortress style instead of a corvette I’ve done the template it was going to be a P J but I’ve changed my mind and just reuse all the hardware I’m probably going to change the colour from white as my Streamer build is going to be white but I can’t decide on what colour as yet?....
  12. Just getting started on my next build a pine bodied Streamer style The blank is all glued up just got to sand it flat, template done aswell I’m going to buy the neck off eBay as this is going to be another budget build..... Hopefully the finished build will look a bit like this....., But it won’t have a 2 part bridge..... Also I’m going to be remaking the body on my Ibanez GSR205 modification build to a Fortress style as the body shape and size is too small (It doesn’t feel right to play) but I’ll resurrect that thread and post the progress on there
  13. I’m just seeing an Angry Duck!!
  14. This is shaping up to be a fine looking guitar!!
  15. Looks lovely!!...Definitely a better choice than tort!!.....
  16. Ok just wondered..... there’s loads of maple veneer on eBay tho....
  17. The headstock looks really nice with the grain showing through but why did you buy beech veneer not maple?....
  18. Sorry I was a bit behind on the thread it didn’t load page 3 till after I posted I do like an ebony fretboard so it will look good either way!!......
  19. I reckon the lighter fretboard contrasting with the body looks good better than the ebony....
  20. I just found this...., https://www.avforums.com/threads/crackling-speaker.248342/
  21. The only other reason I’ve found is to do with interrupted power which can cause crackling??
  22. Just came across this don’t know if it’s of any help?? Issues with the Amplifier An amplifier, especially an older one, can also cause crackling sounds. Transistors and capacitors can wear out over time, the sockets that hold them can corrode and come loose, and vibrations from loud bass music can shake the amplifier.
  23. How much do you want for the ESP?
  24. No I used Andyjr1515 tru oil slurry technique then put about 5 coats on top then flattened it and polished it
  25. Thanks @Marc S I just thinned down some hard glaze and wiped it on and I changed the hardware to black It seemed no softer than basswood but it is a lot lighter For the price he’s selling them from you can’t go wrong really!!
