Thanks mate, it’s not in the same league as your work but I’m pleased with how it’s turning out

It’s getting there!?! I don’t think it’s looking too bad?? Ive scrapped the pickguard idea it didn’t look right Hopefully I’ll finish painting it in the next couple of weeks then I just need to get a new bone nut to replace the crappy plastic one and decide where the controls are going?

That’s just white primer on at the mo, it still needs a few more coats and flattening but I’ve gotta get some more white top coat (I prefer using cellulose) then clear coat it, I’m too impatient to use nitro

I found some White so gave it a quick undercoat spray definitely looks better Next decision colour matched headstock or leave Maple?????

Thanks it’s definitely coming out better than I first thought it would, It will kinda look corvette-ish but also a little bit different, I had some black paint so I thought I’d give it a spray but I’m now thinking it should go white

I managed to get s few bits done today, I’ve rounded off the body and extended the length of the top horn and routed the cavity out It’s all sanded down ready to paint, I can’t decide whether to do it Black or White????

Still not much more progress I’m hoping to do a bit more this week..... Ive got a bit of a dilemma tho the top horn isn’t as long as I hoped it would be so I want to cut a bit more out But that would mean the neck pocket will be shortened from 100mm down to 65mm Which I think is a bit short and won’t really give a lot of support??? I was maybe thinking about leaving the full length of the neck pocket but still cutting the contour longer Or will that just leave the end of the neck pocket too weak??? If anyone’s got any ideas on the best way forward please let me know

That’s the way it should be! It’s irrelevant of who wrote the song just enjoy playing music and entertaining people or yourself in your bedroom (what ever floats your boat)

I don’t gig but reading all the posts I can see the appeal of both sides but one thing that seems to get repeated in lots of post is that writing originals is great/covers are pointless blah blah blah but because you wrote it you might be slightly biase on actually how good it is!?! Being completely honest with yourselves are your songs as good or if not better than the songs that have influenced you? Don’t get me wrong what you have writing might be amazing and Yes I see the talent and artistic flair needed to write your own stuff and how enjoyable and a great sense of accomplishment you can get from it but if you’ve taken the time to write your own music and if it stands up to the test of time wouldn’t it be great to hear other bands bands playing your music so that’s means that every cover once was an original so deep down aren’t they are one and the same so don’t pigeon hole yourselves into either covers or originals surely playing is playing I hope I get to the standard where I can do either or both

Hi Does anyone know where I can get a copy of a Hipshot D style 2 piece bridge as funds are a bit low and can’t really afford the Hipshot price tag?

I’ve just listened to a few of their tracks on YT and I think I’ll be ordering the album I know what you mean not as good as RATM but worth a listen I really rate Tom Morello I think he’s under rated same as Tim Commerford I think he’s a great solid bassist

I didn’t realise that most of them are from RATM, Is the album any good? I’ve been meaning to give them a listen as RATM’s original album is one of my go to albums

You might have already considered this but use an old duvet like a roller blind that acts as a dampener on the door because you will probably leak noise from there? And also rout and brushed intumescent strip into your door that will also help for a better air tight seal

The neck joint should be as you have said should fit with a gentle push and you should be able to lift the body by the neck only without any slipping at the joint Well that’s the rule I work to anyway?
