Advice on 'matching' 1x15/2x12 for my TC Electronic k-212
ProjeKtWEREWOLF replied to ProjeKtWEREWOLF's topic in Amps and Cabs
It would be financially irresponsible for me to buy two 2x12s, when I like the sound I have now. I just want to move some more air lol. I'm waiting to hear back from a guy 2 hours drive from me who's selling a K212. That would be the ideal solution. If I could afford it I would probably try another brand but l I liked the combination of the head and this cab. Go figure. 😁 -

Advice on 'matching' 1x15/2x12 for my TC Electronic k-212
ProjeKtWEREWOLF replied to ProjeKtWEREWOLF's topic in Amps and Cabs
I'm not sure I am looking at the watts. It's cheap, an additional cab in the same range, and most importantly available to buy. I'd just add a 2x12 l series but they're like hens teeth. Buying two new 2x12s or 2x10s would be financially irresponsible. I do appreciate the feedback. -

Where's that? I'm at the far end of north Wales. Everything is far away. -
Peavey Nashville 114e impedance? Help!
ProjeKtWEREWOLF replied to ProjeKtWEREWOLF's topic in Amps and Cabs
No idea about the impedance. Need to remove the back and disconnect the speaker wired according to the guide I found. Not today, Satan. It's a guitar speaker. The tweed version seems to be a pedal steel cab, but this is a straight guitar cab. This will be what it gets used for. My first mistake was assuming BW= bass. Amateurish error. -

I've just found a k series 4x10 for £180. Hmmmm. 600w at 8 ohms, but chunky. Lol. I'm thinking about it. -

Advice on 'matching' 1x15/2x12 for my TC Electronic k-212
ProjeKtWEREWOLF replied to ProjeKtWEREWOLF's topic in Amps and Cabs
Fair points. The bottom end isn't what I'm after; the k212 is a great cab and I love it. The cab is an annoying size. I'd add a 2x12 if I could find something that would fit tbh. -

ProjeKtWEREWOLF replied to ProjeKtWEREWOLF's topic in Amps and Cabs
Even though the head will put out 500w at 4ohms? The k-212 is 8ohms, so 300w. Full 500w with another 8 ohm cab!? -
Advice needed on Peavey 115 BW This is sort of related to another if my posts. I picked up a Peavey Nashville 115e 1x15 cabinet for £30. I'd hoped to use it as an extension cabinet with my 2x12. I had no idea what it was before I collected it! There's almost no information on this thing online. *maybe* it was made for pedal steel (hence the Nashville thing). Sounds decent enough with my small guitar head and 7 string. Can anyone tell me what the impedance on the speaker is, or at least how to find out myself, please? Thank you all.

Advice on 'matching' 1x15/2x12 for my TC Electronic k-212
ProjeKtWEREWOLF replied to ProjeKtWEREWOLF's topic in Amps and Cabs
The TC Electronic K series is really hard to find. They were discontinued years ago and an awkward size. They are indeed 8 ohms. I used to run a 2x15 back in the day lol. -
I hope someone has some ideas because it's stumped me. I have a TC electronic k-212 cab, which I use with a Tech 21 vt bass 500 head. Currently I get 300w output at 8 ohms, but need more volume as the genre of music I'm playing has changed. I want to add a 1x15 cab to go under the 2x12 cab I have., or a 2x12 that would do the same/stack on top. I ont want to drop £1000+ on two new cabs. I'm struggling to find anything suitable to do the job. I need one that's big enough to stack the 2x12 on top of safely. The k-115 is incredibly hard to get now.. They all are. Ideally I'd get one. I didn't think ahead!! The cab measurements are: W x H x D 690 x 395 x 456 (from the product page) Budget is sub £600. Thanks for reading.

I took my daughter and her friends to the 'Forever Nu' Nu Metal tribute gig at The Tivoli in Buckley. £16 a ticket for a 6 hour gig isn't bad. There was bands doing tribute to Evanescence, Korn, Machine Head, System of a Down and Marilyn Manson. My kid is a proper emo, who was born too late I think and she *loved it*. It was nice for her to see live music and she played bass loads yesterday; learning Manson songs lol.

Be sure to check out Batushka.

We were there for a few beers on Saturday before so going to see Behemoth. It was pretty traumatic. Haha.

Behemoth at Manchester Ritz on Saturday. Supported by At The Gates (excellent) and Wolves In The Throne Room. Seriously overpriced beer but an amazing show. I was saw Behemoth in 2002, and they barely filled Bradford Rios. The Ritz was sold out.

My band played at Grand Central in Manchester in 2003 or 2004. I remember nothing about it except getting changed in the disabled toilet. I don't even remember how we got there (we live at the other end of North Wales), whose kits I used. Nothing. Total blank. I was talking about it with my brother and my friend while we were there on Saturday before the Behemoth gig. They had a similar experience with the addition of "It was awful" . So that as my worst gig I reckon. The band disintegrated a few months after that (last gig was in Rhyl!).

Update. The truss rod cover was reversed for some reason. I will need new screws. Truss rod cover of Westone Thunder 1A bass by Hywel Cross, on Flickr I removed the strings and cleaned up the sticker (scraped it off with the edge of a CD, then used nail varnish remover). Westone Thunder 1A bass starting to be stripped down for deep cleaning. by Hywel Cross, on Flickr I will remove the bridge and give it a good clean. The electronics look to be in good nick.

Westone Thunder 1A bass (1983) by Hywel Cross, on Flickr The truss rod cover is the correct shape, but is white and has no logo. Weird. Maybe the previous owner reversed it? I will pull it off when I change the strings.

Flickr photo Nice colour. I will post a pic asap. That's what I reckoned about the knobs; they're pretty pricy. The best thing is that it was FREE!!!!!! 😎

I just picked what appears to be a Thunder 1A. One P pick up, two to be and one volume control, with 2 switches. The control knobs are black plastic with numbers, not brass though. The serial number puts it at mid 1983. It's a bit tatty cosmetically but the electronics look tidy and the neck is good. Any ideas why the knobs are plastic? Replacement brass ones are really ££££
