  1. New bathrooms don’t improve homes. There was a scientific study to say it’s new basses that equal happiness- I saw it on a meme. And memes are basically the truth! 😎🤩
  2. Yeah I’m liking the gen2pickups I’m keeping them - I don’t mind the tuners - I’d change the bridge for gotoh still loving it - so good to play
  3. I’m really surprised these aren’t a staple. It’s light, it’s powerful and no daft bridge plus a superb neck
  4. This awesome bass needs to go to someone gigging and recording- it’s a pro bass in the hands of at best a semi pro! Would consider trade for 4strung passive with rosewood neck Lakland or Sadowsky Jazz with money either way The blurb from Gibson 34" scale maple neck with rosewood fingerboard Swamp ash body Pair of Alnico red bass humbuckers with coil taps Babicz Full Contact bridge 7.7lbs in weight TI flats plus spare set plus set of GHS pressure wound strings) This full-scale, 4-string bass follows a long line of great EB models, while bringing and entirely new shape, look, sound, and versatility to the board—all representing truly unbelievable value for a hand-made-in-America electric bass. The new EB Bass marries a brand new and extremely comfortable body shape to a glued-in, 34”-scale full-size neck and two awesome-sounding new humbucking bass pickups for unprecedented power and fidelity. Whether you play in-the-pocket funk, warm and sultry jazz, or raging rock, the EB Bass is primed to take it on. The foundation of the new 2014 EB Bass from Gibson USA lies in a solid ash body and glued-in maple neck. Ash has long been respected for its open, resonant tone, and lends itself perfectly to a rich, versatile-voiced bass. Add Gibson’s new Alnico rod bass humbuckers with coil taps, a Babicz™ Full Contact® bridge for perfect intonation and increased sustain, and wrap it in your choice of five vintage-gloss finishes—Brilliant Red, Fireburst, Natural, Bullion Gold, or Vintage Sunburst—and it’s an incomparable way to lay down the low end. (EB Bass 5-string also available.) The 2014 EB Bass 4-String is made from a solid swamp ash body with glued-in maple neck. Its asymmetrical double-cutaway body style is timeless, yet entirely original, and designed for forearm comfort and an ergonomic playing position whether seated or standing. The full-size, 34”-scale-length neck carries a rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays and a 120th Anniversary banner inlay at the 12th fret. The firm sonic foundation of the EB Bass is amplified via two of Gibson’s innovative new Alnico rod humbucking bass pickups, which offer extreme clarity and string definition even when thundering through a cranked bass stack. Coil taps offer brighter, snappier tones, while a rim-mounted barrel jack (this was broken when arrived so switch jack replacement abd checked over by pro guitar tech) provides a safe and secure place to plug in. A Babicz™ Full Contact® bridge provides a rock-solid anchor at the body end for optimum resonance and sustain, complemented by efficient modern tuners. A multi-ply black pickguard and black truss-rod cover complete the package. The 2014 EB Bass 4-String comes protected in a vintage-brown Gibson hardshell case Can ship to uk in box or meet north west West Yorkshire
  5. About 9lbs - which feels ok on a strap- it’s one of those basses you enjoy playing. The neck is great 👍 seriously considering gigging this over my Gibson
  6. I fancied a jazz as got bored of the P thing for now So liked the look of the new Sire - had the P5 and was ok so wasn’t expecting to love this Jazz as much as I do. This neck just begs to be played - been playing it for about 3 hours so far - stopped for tea anyways I reckon I’ll through so money at this. The pups are pretty good - but what do you reckon would be an upgrade? Fender custom, Lindy Fralin - I played a ash body Fender for about 15 years - but it’s been about 8 years since I played a jazz and there’s lots of pickup options now also any lightweight tuners that’d fit - also bridges but don’t mind this bridge and don’t want to start drilling all over thr only thing I don’t like is the poly finish. Wire wool it when TI flats arrive Well done Sire - this neck is a very nice thing!
  7. Just ordered the 4 string 24 fret - coming tomorrow- I prefer standard shape but be nice to have some high up fret options I’ll never use 🤣 that neck looks mint I had Fender 74 reissue from 2002 I played till 2017 but at nearly 11lbs was bit much - this Sire reminds me of that bass but with extra frets and nearly 1/3 of price
  8. Hi there just for sale. Cutting the numbers down ta
  9. i had the 2013 and it was superb - really nice bass - GLWTS
  10. I'm really not sure about selling this as it's mint, but it's 3rd in queue now behind Gibson and Starfire, but bills, cost of living etc are pushing this idea - damn you capitalist pigdogs! I made this from 2 basses - one i bought from here and which gave the Mighty Mike Jazz neck (with F decal) which is absolutely a superb neck, 38mm nut width, satin feel neck, like the American pro, as are the tuners lightweight Fender tuners with Drop D. Fender Custom 62 pickups (growl and thump) and nice bridge and mint green guard. Then i bought a VM 2010 Squier for the gorgeous amber aged body, from this kept the capacitor and pots as they had a really good sweep of tones. It's light too about 8lbs - 8.3lbs (no scales - just feel) Super low action comes with new rounds - cost me £750 all in to make - so want to see no less than £500 or i'll keep it. Will list for a couple of weeks and if the gods tell me to keep it then so be it. Also can come with black guard £10 and nice padded gig bag £20 This is a very nice thing, comparable with some of the nicest P's i've had, you'll not find a factory one of this quality for this money i'm sure. Shipping to UK £20 or drop off North West UK for petrol or meet up

  12. That’s it - cheers
  13. Bought the Planet Waved years ago and it fits a barrel Jack lovely but this is on the blink. Would love to get a new one but where? anyone know name of these with the extra connections pics below can’t remember where I bought it so lifetime warranty gone. And D’addario seem to own PW now ta
  14. Yeah any of my basses have gone mostly for financial reasons - the fact that the energy companies have been siphoning my records and bass gear money hasnt helped - i. think this bass needs a full set up - more cash spent on it making it not a cheap buy but rehearsed with it last night and sits in the mix really nice and was even with high action really good to play
  15. Ah that’s worrisome- I think the strings are too high and the pickups too low - had to order a Allen key as none of mine fit the babicz but loving the lightweight ness and fits in the band sound nicely
  16. Had a bit of a bonus so treated myself to an import from US of Gibson EB14 - i wanted a different vibe from a PB and this looks like their version of a Musicman Sabre bass but passive First impressions needs a set up but came with TI flats so saved some cash there - slight crackle from the jack - so will take off the scratchplate later in week, night just need a blast of air. The neck - satin back on maple which feels great with slab of rosewood - needs oiling and truss rod needs a quarter turn i'd say. Great bridge, bass is very resonant. String spacing of 20mm which for my sausage fingers is great (my fave bass Starfire 1 thats the only downside slim string spacing) action is higher than i like it so will get puzzling bridge out this week as intonation is out about 5% at octave. Finish is lovely satin nitro and it's really light I'm guessing 7lbsish. The only thing which is concerning at mo is that there's a really pronounced drop off in volume between fully open then from 80% down - the pickup height looks a bit too low for me. The humbuckers are fairly thumpy - the neck is muddy some but with coil tap there's a real good usable selection of tones for what i do. Anyone else had such drop off? I am only using it at in house- not annoy the neighbours levels at mo, till tonight. In time for rehearsals tonight - so can road test it
  17. A set of Duncan Designed PB101 pickups from a Squier Vintage Modified P Bass 2010 Great sounding and versatile range of tones and has vintage cloth leads. Read somewhere that these are hotter than regular at 17.01 K Ohms. Mounted on rubber padding Includes mounting screws. Inc to postage UK
  18. Really nice chunky - almost D profile neck from a Squier VM P Bass from 2010 - the wood has had time to darken a bit and has lovely patterning on board - 42mm nut and got a lovely feel with absolutely no fret sprout and roundish corners Comes with tuners which are solid. Neck plates and screws. Also a set of Fender flats that were on it too Will make someone a nice feeling neck for a project One point to say is that there's a misaligned hole in the neck joint (see image and reflected in price)- but some wood glue and you'll be good to go - this shouldn't hinder it Priced to sell - postage £7 to UK
  19. Made a few years ago and was bought from this parish for a build i have just finished Northwest Guitars Precision Bass Body, Alder, originally Brown Sunburst, which was stripped and painted Fiesta Red with Nitrocellulose paint (looks slightly lighter than pics like Tomato soup -beautiful - I'm just not a red person basswise). lightly relicd. Squier VM bridge 2010 CTS Pots 250k Audio Taper Solid Shaft. Sprague Orange Drop 0.047 Capacitor. Quality tort guard Heavy knurled knobs All shielded Lightly aged bridge cover Lovely body contours Roughly about 2.5-3k no scales but lightweight and resonant Just needs some pups and a neck and away you go - good project starting point Postage £10 to UK
