Yeah love the Mosrite look - was looking at the Eastwood version but double the price but probably better but this a good back up
-
Just in - super light - quite punchy not too bright how I like it - nice neck - not too thin - would give Squier Mustang a run for their money - not bad outta box - some tapes or flats and it’ll be a fine back up - fun and easy to play and dud I say how light it is - prob 7.lbs couple of niggles - fret but at Eb on the A string but not through amp - not fret edges but could do with a polish on a couple - but these are only slight string spacing 19mm and 40mm at nut which makes it great to play tuners are solid - and intonation pretty good out of box Would make good mod platform at £395 I would if I was lobster give this 4/5 claws 🦞

Selling my 2013 PB MIA - as I have finally found the bass for my needs, a Guild Starfire- so I can’t justify having such a great bass as a back up - it’s just a superb PB and needs a home where it’s number 1. Possibly with get the Deacy power bass from Bass Centre as back up. This bass sings unplugged - it resonates and so easy to play- plugged in it growls! new GHS flats just out on very wide tone options for a P as they switched up the pups from 2013 - the neck has the super satin finish - rolled edge with rosewood board which has been oiled - trust rod at bottom but access through the black three ply scratch plate and is 42mm at bone nut Bridge has the adjustable slots with a 19.5 mm string spacing with string through or top load option tuners the lightweight fender ones - holds well. weight is approx 8lbs it’s a lightweight one it has a couple of fine scratches and a tiny chip on thr back of the horn pictured apart from that some very light buckle rash - it’s a beautiful 3 burst - looks like a bottle of bourbon. comes with Fender hard case UK shipping £45 insured or pickup/meet upto hour drive from Clitheroe Lancs

This is my Guild Byrds Starfire - I took recording last weekend and it ended up on 7 out of 8 live recorded tracks - I was expecting to be using the P mostly but the Starfire sounded so good. I absolutely love it. Smooth and deep but cuts through nicely -
John Stirrat of Wilco plays it always sounds awesome with Darkstar pup - I’ve tried finding model name - I’m sure one you dudes would know
-
used it at recording session yesterday - Guild on seven tracks PB on one
-
thnaks for info - good to know - it has a very balanced sound across all of the strings - i'm impressed with it

Cheers Shaggy - I was looking at getting a Starfire 1 - and Lobster really likes the new one - and watch the promo videos but kept looking at the natural Starfire 2 as bassist from Cactus Flowers was in session on KEXP and it sounded awesome but then when this came up it was an immediate yes. Bisonic pups are great

Got from fellow BCer yesterday - who did an extra mile in packing it to me i love the Byrds so to get a Hillman bass is for me brill - I don’t like signature bass’s per se - did have Bruce Thomas and keep looking at the Bass Centre possible Deacy PB. Also I find the necks on most semi acoustic basses too narrow- and this is 38mm but the curve of the neck is really great. The position of the pick up is perfect - the bass is woody thump but clarity of the notes is just super with a touch of growl. The stock flats let you glide around. The action is low. Intonation pretty good. The E string struggle a wee bit past 12th note but I don’t play notes there - it’d be on the A string on a strap there’s a fair bit of neck dive like the Jack Casady but with a leather strap it’s fine the looks of this bass are a dream - attention to detail and build quality are superb- I’ve owned a few semis and this is the best

Short scale long horn thumper - with not so common silver burst that shimmers in the light - think this was 2004 edition Made in Korea featuring dual lipstick pickups, old style bridge, rosewood fingerboard and replacement GOTOH (I think) lightweight tuners (a better upgrade). Pearl pickguard which is often missing on these- comes with old style fender bag, and a strap that fits somehow through body? (not tried it - might be round the neck) weighs - 6lbs. 4oz Someone has tried to put a bridge on but filled it in - doesn't affect playability - Also i put new GHS flats on but the nut is metal and the e string is a little too thick - so i'll put in rounds that were on it when it was perfect then you can choose - i dont want to file the nut Selling as car has decided to die on me and looking expensive so just before Xmas Postage £25 or collection/near by meet up in Clitheroe/North West
