1. yes it was a one off and took me 3 seconds to decide - i have a unlined acoustic fretless as always played fretted and i've not got the time to relearn - so bought the chowny - selling the aria
2. this one? i got it - and i play it most days at home - they should do more
3. Hi there I’m in Clitheroe lancs but would drive an hour in any direction to meet up think the real name is Aris Fb Fln but got nicknamed Febfluffen in here I think
4. i gave it a try but fretless not for me, nice with flats on - 3 months had it from new - local pick up only - thanks for looking I'm based in Clitheroe Pancs but happy to drive one hour in any direction to meet up to sell it has built in pick up and tuner too - unplugged the e/f note on the g string is a little buzzy but not through amp - action super low it needs someone who got more patience than me to play without fret guides but it has improved my playing and finger positioning
5. i bought the La bella flats for mustang and going through body the D and especially the G barely make it over the nut - the G winding is about a mm over the nut - i rang string supplier and they said they'd bring it up with La Bella rep ut havent heard anything - this was about october 17 As above yours look fine to me - Much more above nut than mine - the g is slightly damped - but i play a lot of palm mute - but hoping will get replacement strings!
6. yes guard later and i put thumbrest on, pups are Kent Armstrong - pics of neck and neckplate are original paid £1000 with discount - so thinking 950 is about right but wanted to keep it and wasnt going to haggle over 50
7. yes Sibob now to get on with just enjoying it, i think what i might do is use money for another body in future and tidy this one up - i love the dakota red but also sunburst or natural - but for now feeling happy again - Nathan i sold my P Bass and Chowny bass after getting this mustang, as it kinda does the job of both for me - join the club?
8. Seller replied very quickly and arranged a fair discount and as Sibob suggested didnt look but usually does and apologised - very good customer service . Also offered full refund but I want to keep the bass so took discount - thanks everyone for all replies. It's a good forum here!
9. the bass sounds great but having paid full price, im not going to get that back, if i was to sell later - it's crazy prices what vintage guitars go for now - i was originally going for MIJ for around £700, then the JMJ road worn was coming out for £969 - so though 1200 for an original was a better bet - but now feel let down
10. have sent pics to seller and see what happens - i thought the price reflected respray - description says excellent condition and no mention of routing - feel a bit sick now!
11. do you think the plate might have just been added - btw i did mention where exactly i bought it from but seeing as it's fairly unique im sure it's been seen :-) - no mention of this routing - otherwise i wouldve thought twice - thanks for reply dude
12. Just took scratchplate off - look at this hatchet job! Ideas? Could this be squire? Or later body from 66?
13. Cheers y'all mind at rest now - yes it is one unique looking bass - hopefully got many more sessions and gigs to come out of it
14. yes a lot of trouble has gone into this if it was fake - but still doubts can creep in from buying it blind
15. when i check i'll post a pic - even the through body metal finish looks old - i know it's also got Kent Armstrong pups added - I'm off tomorrow so the screwdriver is coming out!
16. Yes i thought Olympic White and it has the paint stick mark - thanks for putting my mind at rest - not took the scratch plate off but will tomorrow and look to see if it has been filled -as MW bass has humbucker style pup
17. Bought this from a London shop with good reputation for vintage guitars and paid a fair whack for it too (bought it online without playing) - but less than one with original colour bass - someone said the finish looked like the Squire Mikey Way signature bass - i asked the shop owner about the previous history and he bought it saying that previous owner had just had it resprayed. I'm now slightly worried that I've bought a squire with 66 neck and Frankenstein of parts - thing is it plays and sounds absolutely great - my gut is that this is a 66 bod with respray (see image 2), as why would you go to all the trouble of marrying everything together- what do you think?
18. Howdy fellow northerners - I'm originally from Manchester but after living in Chorley and Anderton for a while ended up in Billington near Whalley - all lovely places to live. What bands are you in? I'm in an Americana band called The Low Highway

20. Howdy newbie here: Just bought a 66 mustang with KA's on - will let ya know what i think when i get it delivered - but people seem to like them - anyone use them on a mustang before? Just that I heard 66 mustangs had good pups - but see Justin Medhal Johnson has had custom pups on his new RW signature coming out

22. Selling my 2013 MIA PBass special £725- here's the science bit... American Special (MIA) quite rightly looks every bit like a regular P-Bass should. It presents a new slim profile, sophisticated model that oozes class and looks right at home in today's bass market. As such it features a fully contoured body, however, with a high gloss finish to the fully contoured body and shallow 'C'-shaped neck. With its satin finish and a rosewood fingerboard, the neck is fixed to the body in traditional style with four screws and neck plate. The body sports a Fender original tortoiseshell scratch plate (2nd pic) that i've added to give it that traditional look but also comes with white/black/white three-ply scratchplate with a cut-out for access to the truss rod adjustment at the body end. The traditional split-coil pickup offers vintage-style Alnico magnets and features a Greasebucket tone circuit that, according to Fender, "rolls off highs without adding bass". Available in a variety of finishes including this glorious three-tone sunburst, it remains a great looking bass and is particularly good to play. One major change that was implemented throughout the range some years back is the introduction of a thicker headstock. This definitely makes sense when it comes to both sound quality and roadworthiness Sounds Had the bass set up professionally with La Bella flats and action is super low and fast Fully rolled off (anti- clockwise) there's a clearer, funkier element than you'd normally associate with a P-Bass. At the other extreme (full treble) there's a bright but solid delivery. By gradually easing back the tone control that funky element stays pretty much in place no matter where the control is set. Curiously, about two fifths down from full treble there's almost a sweet spot, usually associated with dual-pickup basses such as the Fender Jazz; it's as if the split- coil element takes over and a blending occurs between the bottom two strings and the top two. It's a subtle effect, but a cool one nonetheless. So, the Greasebucket circuit does what it says on the tin and has something effective to say. It's not vastly different from the standard passive circuit but then this is a Precision and it should sound like one, which it certainly does: loud and distinctly solid, a feature that rock players in particular will find very attractive. For our money this neck profile has to be one of the very best on any Precision since day one! Forget authenticity, or those classic early versions, this neck shape is excellent. Includes trust rod adjuster, fender cloth and all original paperwork There is a little ding on back (pictured) but apart from that it is in superb like new condition Specs Scale Length (mm)864 No. of Frets20 Country of OriginUSA Weight (kg)3.75 Fingerboard MaterialRosewood Neck MaterialMaple No of Strings4 Guitar Body MaterialAlder Body StyleTwin cutaway, solidbody four-string FinishThree-tone sunburst; This is a great bass for a great price - can ship across uk for £25
