Just ordered the P - hopefully good backup to my J and alternative to that on some songs - it says 1.5 nut radius which if true was exactly what i was looking for a P with a J neck
-
I’ll take your word for it - and from your review sounds like a good back up

Saw the review on Johnny Dibble's Youtube - and loved everything about this and wanted one until he and others mentioned feeling the frets - it's absolute deal breaker for me - i had an American Original Jazz that was amazing apart from the tall narrow frets which took my mind off playing - pity as this looks really nice for a back up - the SX P i have for sale has no pokey frets - still would like to try one at the price - the extra fret access at the heel makes them look like a Sire shape

So I bought another short scale bass, because well look at it -woof yeah, but i'm tall and big and it just feels that tad small for me - and it would've been perfect for my old Americana band, but not for what I'm currently doing, it was a toss up between this and the Triad. My band all said oooh at rehearsal. The bass end you can get out of this is huge - i could feel it vibrating my legs at rehearsal, the drummer was very impressed - great for palm muting due to comfortable bridge, Macca stuff all day. Jamerson too. Not so good if you're a Jaco head (maybe if you had zingy rounds on it), which I'm not. But loads of old school mojo but modern touches - if this was 34 inch then it'd be perfect. Lightweight, with nice glassy neck, very very comfortable to play, zero frets sticking out, balances on a strap great. Noiseless pups, which are responsive with a great blend knob. Brand new La Bella LFTs on it - and the rounds it came with in bag. Comes with deluxe padded Fender bag - which is worth it for the carrying handle alone, very nice - will be getting another of these for next bass. Comes with case candy, inspection list, and all that good stuff. Really well made, well done Reverend - just tad too small for me - when you know, you know - so would like to put the money towards the periwinkle Triad that keeps taunting me. This will easily become their go to bass. Priced to sell. Pick up in Clitheroe or can meet up to an hours drive - or £20 for P&P to UK mainland - will be very well packaged

Had chance to rehearse Dub King tonight. Didn’t spend a lot of time dailing in amp and pedals as quick rehearsal BUT yes it’s very dubby with fingers, very easy to play. I bought it mainly for palm muting with pic which it does very very well, I found best tones was 70/30 blend towards neck pup. I didn’t like the treble side so much - it felt reedy, with time spent EQing would be fine. It’s very light and balances well on a strap and the big body and hi-mass bridge meant it was comfortable but I did find that noodling on the sofa - the lack of contour was noticeable - gloss neck was nice and glassy not sticky it’s of no use to my current band - Echo & the Bunnymen tribute - but would’ve been spot on for last Americana band i was in - or doing Maccaesque 60s stuff as it’s like a cross between a violin bass and a Guild SF - Jamerson stuff in this would be fab, can’t see any Jaco fan liking this tho BUT I think this is the final nail in the coffin for me and short scales - I’ve had quite a few and as I’m quite big they feel just that tad too small. I can see me listing it and getting some other 34 inch. If I had another band to use it in then it’d be useful. I would definitely get another reverend - prob Triad

i was looking at those but gone with La Bella LTF medium scale as i know i like those - but will definitely check them out at some point as hear good things about them

Woof what a looker - yeah nice bass. Can’t plug it in till Thursday but a short scale that doesn’t feel small - string spacing is key when you have King Charles sausage hands - 42mm nut width has feel of a violin bass. Also it’s light thankfully- just need some nice flats. I usually use TIs on long scale - but had the on a mustang and was too floppy - was thinking La Bella Mustangs - I’ve used them before but can’t remember if I liked them, but wondering what Pyramid golds are like and if you can string through - any recommendations? I don’t like them to stiff ..oh er.. or heavy

Lovely looking and good playing 2021 SX vintage style p bass with SX gig bag very light - no scales but about 7lbs much less than my jazz. Full scale 34 inch. nut 42mm chunkier neck but not baseball bat. Absolutely no fret sprout - this Chinese factory are going the extra mile for SX - amazing quality for the price. Strung with flats but probably can find some decent rounds too Possible great mod platform but pretty good as is. Make a good spare or knockabout was in need of a good set up when I got it. Cleaned and Have tightened everything up, given truss rod half a turn, intonation 98% there now. priced to sell at £135 plus £12 postage to uk.

Yes good. First rehearsals and added bite, clarity and punch. Really happy - turned an already good bass into a great bass. They definitely have sauce as the kids say. Kinda like paying £200 for a pedal but that’s always on. Well balanced and not overly aggressive, kinda mix between modern punch with vintage warmth well done Tim Shaw

will report back - hoping for less noise and a bit more note definition - the originals are good but have a bit of hum when not both full on - saw the colbalt and thought give em a try - pricey gamble but videos have been good on these
-
Just arrived.
-
Just ordered them for my jazz - £205 from gig gear paid for from last gig - hoping as advertised they’ll be quiet and have more clarity they look good too. Once compressed my G string sounds different more zingy than my other strings so can alter the pole piece now get them hopefully at weekend- will report back after next rehearsal

Actually in the end went for the colbalt bass one from Fender - after again watching videos
-
Gone for the Gen4 noiseless fenders £151 with delivery- watch a few videos - look like what I need.
-
Was looking at the Gen4 Fenders as I don’t fancy a battery really. Cheers

I have a passive Fender Japanese Jazz bass circa 1998- 2000 and it’s ace but I get single cool hum unless both pickups are on full. I like the sound at about 90% neck and 60% bridge - but hate the hum - 100% on both is just not doing it for me. Looking at up to £200 to replace. What recommendations do you have. I play in an Echo & The Bunnymen tribute now and Les had a 70s MIA Jazz - where as mines a 62 RI but no too bothered about getting 100% his tone - just freedom from 60 cycle hum ta in advance
