  1. Lovely looking and good playing 2021 SX vintage style p bass with SX gig bag very light - no scales but about 7lbs much less than my jazz. Full scale 34 inch. nut 42mm chunkier neck but not baseball bat. Absolutely no fret sprout - this Chinese factory are going the extra mile for SX - amazing quality for the price. Strung with flats but probably can find some decent rounds too Possible great mod platform but pretty good as is. Make a good spare or knockabout was in need of a good set up when I got it. Cleaned and Have tightened everything up, given truss rod half a turn, intonation 98% there now. priced to sell at £135 plus £12 postage to uk.
  2. Cheers Sir. Just started this new project- funny story our debut 10 Aug - Will Sergeant turned up to check us out! https://x.com/Will_Fuzz/status/1822610225121157278?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet
  3. Can be heard here - compressed then mxr80 then bass clone through mark bass combo 112 https://www.facebook.com/share/v/TgXN1j3rUBXruGYd/?mibextid=WC7FNe
  4. Yes good. First rehearsals and added bite, clarity and punch. Really happy - turned an already good bass into a great bass. They definitely have sauce as the kids say. Kinda like paying £200 for a pedal but that’s always on. Well balanced and not overly aggressive, kinda mix between modern punch with vintage warmth well done Tim Shaw
  5. will report back - hoping for less noise and a bit more note definition - the originals are good but have a bit of hum when not both full on - saw the colbalt and thought give em a try - pricey gamble but videos have been good on these
  6. Just arrived.
  7. Just ordered them for my jazz - £205 from gig gear paid for from last gig - hoping as advertised they’ll be quiet and have more clarity they look good too. Once compressed my G string sounds different more zingy than my other strings so can alter the pole piece now get them hopefully at weekend- will report back after next rehearsal
  8. Actually in the end went for the colbalt bass one from Fender - after again watching videos
  9. Gone for the Gen4 noiseless fenders £151 with delivery- watch a few videos - look like what I need.
  10. Was looking at the Gen4 Fenders as I don’t fancy a battery really. Cheers
  11. I have a passive Fender Japanese Jazz bass circa 1998- 2000 and it’s ace but I get single cool hum unless both pickups are on full. I like the sound at about 90% neck and 60% bridge - but hate the hum - 100% on both is just not doing it for me. Looking at up to £200 to replace. What recommendations do you have. I play in an Echo & The Bunnymen tribute now and Les had a 70s MIA Jazz - where as mines a 62 RI but no too bothered about getting 100% his tone - just freedom from 60 cycle hum ta in advance
  12. Surprised how good these are for the money GLWTS
  13. Funny enough I was just watching a video on 4 cable method which said modulation and delays to be in fx loop. I’m going to try it. After I try the chorus at end of chain - though if I go ampless it’ll have to go back into before mxr Di
  14. Nah keeping it. Be a good back up Lovely looking and good playing 2021 SX vintage style p bass with SX gig bag very light - no scales but about 7lbs much less than my jazz. Or possibly trade for jazz SX or Squier Jaguar or maybe a semi but 34 or 32 inch

  15. Thanks sir I'm getting noise after chorus which is after compressor - which when i add the MXR at the end (so boss tuner/ Seymour Duncan compressor/ EHX chorus/ MXR preamp di) then i have hiss from treble on the chorus - without the MXR it's great no hissing - the MXR was an afterthought and doesnt hiss on it's own - but i need chorus for 80s stuff i'm doing at mo -
  16. Hiya I meant about going into the balanced line in on the top of the MB (it's a CMD121 combo) from my pedalboard to reduce noise then use the amp's DI to go to front of house - that is when i'm using the amp - i was just wondering if using a Preamp into XLR in on MB would cause any problems? ta
  17. Hi All Mark Bass manual isn't clear - but the balanced line in - i take it it's for double bass inputs but could you take DI output from MXR Bass DI into balanced input - i'm guessing this doesn't bypass the power amp - instead you'd need to use the FX send and return to bypass the power amp I think i answered my own question but wanted to check the bass brain whats best as i want the pedal board to be the source of my sound and the Mark Bass to be a monitor which i can use or not use if i choose ta in advance - my tiny brainand lack of MB details on manual doesnt help
  18. Great pedal as you'll all now, it's only about a month old - just going down different route - so surplus to requirements - has velcro on bottom Here's what MXR say about the Bass Preamp The MXR Bass Preamp combines a pristine bass preamp with a studio-quality Direct Out in a Phase 90-sized box, providing clear tone without hogging precious pedalboard space. Use it to add a new voice to an old passive bass, sweeten up any amp, or put some special sauce on a particular song. Dial it in just the way you want it and send it straight to the house-pre or post-EQ-with the built-in Direct Out. The Bass Preamp features separate INPUT and OUTPUT level controls and a 3-band EQ section with sweepable midrange-from 250hz to 1khz-for extensive tonal flexibility. It's all delivered super clean with high headroom thanks to our own Constant Headroom Technology, and you can use the PRE/POST EQ switch to set whether or not your Direct Out signal is affected by the Bass Preamp's EQ section. And of course, the Bass Preamp features a GROUND LIFT switch in case you encounter ground loop hum. The Bass Preamp is factory preset to operate in 1/4" out buffered bypass and Direct Out active. For players who only want to use the 1/4" out, there are two internal switches that disable the Direct Out and 1/4" out buffered bypass for true 1/4" out bypass mode. £125 posted in original box plus bubble wrap and outer box to UK

  22. I’ve gone with MXR 81 as although I use my mark bass the time controls will be handy to go ampless - or just di to desk from MXR and use amp as monitor
  23. Thanks but have bought the MXR new from PMT as it’s the one I chose and surprised Gwiz did too
  24. The Getz helping out here. Insane amount of pedals think just going to get the MXR in my price range and that, the radial and the Sushibox sounded great to me. In any near me price range
