Building Services Engineer (mechanical) I'm sure #MEP will recognise the title. I design heating, hot and cold water, ventilation and air conditioning systems mainly for commercial projects and industrial projects. Been doing it since 1985 and still enjoy it. Every project and design team (client, engineers, architect, structural engineer, quantity surveyor, project manager etc) is different.

Really saddened by the news. Never felt quite so affected by news of the death of a rock star. Got into Rush in the mid 80s and they've influenced me to this day. Amazed that Neil got though his own personal tragedies with such dignity. RIP.

I'm about to learn 32 20 Blues by Back Door as a new song to slip into our blues band live set. It's all chords, which will be the first time in my 35 year playing career that I've played them. I've read about Colin Hodgkinson on this forum over the years, but I never thought I'd end up plying one of his tunes. Wish me luck!

@paul_5 Woah - steady on! Please don't generalise about homophobic attitudes in the Christian church. (Let's leave that for a new OT thread) I'm a Christian who plays bass and sings in a small methodist church alongside an electroacoustic guitarist/singer. Plenty of variety and I need to bring both rhythm and musicality to the songs as there's only two of us.

Pretty sure Pino did play on TTS - just looked at an old mimed performance of the song (on TV show Razmatazz) and Pino's part of the band with his fretless 'ray.

Saw them last night in Newcastle - good vibes; audio mix less so. Might have been the room. Here's a pic of Mr. Levy playing his PJ. Sure it's a Squier rather than a Fender but couldn't quite see. Rig was Ashdown as you can see.

I also have an elite (a white one) and love the stock preamp/pickup configuration. Loads of tonal range. Only thing i'm not overly keen on is the pick up blend which doesn't seem to have any subtlety to it.

Superb. One of my favourite songs, none the worse for being deconstructed. Nice of XTC to send him the tracks too.

SKB make a good gig bag nice quality with decent pockets. Unfortunately I had to give mine away as part of a bass sale

I play my squire classic vibe 60s P with flats through my very clean sounding Phil Jones rig. Still sounds gutsy like a classic P and suits the blues trio nicely.
