  1. At what age does a guy become an " old bloke"? Lol Daryl
  2. The only emotion I let anyone see at a gig is the huge smile on my face. Daryl
  3. Thanks, I'm 70 and gigging more than ever in my life. Even with our drummer issue, I have it pretty good. If you've got good gigs and good health you've got it made. DaryL
  4. Our drummer picks and chooses what gigs he'll play. Not an ideal arrangement. However sacking him and finding a new drummer would be worse. Daryl
  5. " Really well paying" That's my favorite type of gig. We have one coming up. A corporate Christmas Party. Requests can get dicey. I saw a member of a 60s hit making band ( 4 hits in our top ten) now in his 70s play a solo small bar gig. Great singer and musician but apparently pretty bitter about the music business. Someone requested Paul Simon's The Boxer. His response" sure, I'll play it, 20 bucks." Wow, that's bold. Daryl
  6. Nice one! Daryl
  7. Same to you Lozz, thanks. Daryl
  8. Great gig, engaged crowd and the place was packed. No deps really helped. Above average compensation. Unfortunately not many decent pics. Daryl
  9. I've never played a 5. After 55 years playing 4s I could never make the transition. Daryl
  10. Love those Adidas. Daryl
  11. Looks like a fun gig and energetic crowd. Nice. Daryl
  12. Thanksgiving Eve is a big Gig night in the States. Maple Road will be performing at Rockfield Music & Media. We start at 7:00. And it's BYOB . Very intimate Victorian vibe. Daryl
  13. We're having some difficult times with dep drummers. Daryl
  14. Agreed, they should have offered a little money. Daryl
  15. Our set list is also getting old. I don't really know if there's a plan for adding new songs. Daryl
  16. Lol 😂 Yeah, it a cool gig on November 26th. And we'll have our own drummer. Too bad about the punk band. I thought the punk scene was really robust all over in your area? Winter is generally pretty slow for us. Daryl
  17. No gigs for me until 11/26. Daryl
  18. Standing room only. I need a gig like that. Daryl
  19. Have you defined what you want out of a band ? I'd be looking for good people to network with to help you find a match. Starting a new band is tough. 99% of start ups/ new bands probably never see their first gig. Daryl
  20. 1. No 2. Yes I just wish we would have been better seeing that people paid to see us. Daryl
  21. Not a great night for us. We just couldn't get our groove going for some reason. We had a dep drummer but that wasn't the problem. On the plus side we sold 94 tickets at $15.00 a piece. Daryl
  22. For whatever reason Maple Road does not rehearse. We gig a lot but no rehearsal. Daryl
  23. Big Gig this weekend. Maple Road is headlining The Bend Theatre. That means we get the big catered dressing room. Daryl
  24. That's the hardest pill for me to swallow. It's usually when we book gigs at venues that don't really have that live music loving clientle . Daryl
  25. Decent gig. As you know when we do our acoustic thing we're merely background music. However we had a few people dancing. 5:30-8:00, I was home by 9:30. No pics this time. Daryl
