  1. In your case your still young and probably a good time to move on to something else. I'll never have that option because playing/ gigging at the bar band level is who I am and all I'll ever be and all I want to be at this stage of the game. And BTW, I like being me. Blue
  2. I'd rather be gigging and unhappy than happy and not gigging. But how could I not be gigging and happy? 😁 Blue
  3. Nice commentary! However, I'm not sure The Venture were as big in the US as The Shadows were in the UK. Did The Ventures sing? Blue
  4. Still, not what I would call huge, guys, come on, 70 million people had there eyes on The Beatles and that electric Hofner bass guitar. I can believe I'm the only one with this opinion on this forum. Blue
  5. Not in my book and not when it comes to The Beatles. I'm not letting Q off the hook. Blue
  6. I'm not budging guys sorry. These bands did not bring the electric bass into the eyes of millions of 9 & 10 year old future bass players like the The Beatles did on The Ed Sullivan Show February 9th, 1964. Blue
  7. Unless your well networked nobody that's in a position to do something for you us not going to see you in a Milwaukee bar and make you an offer. Maybe back in the 70, or maybe in London. Blue
  8. Not to be rude , but neither Carol or James played bass in front of a captive audience of 70 million on February 9th, 1964 with an electric bass guitar. Paul did. I didn't hear about Carol or James until years after The Beatles. I'm maintaing my position. Blue
  9. Shadows were a lot bigger in the UK. Not exactly what I would consider wide use. Blue
  10. Prior to The Beatles where was there electric bass guitars in wide use? Blue
  11. Don't quit a gigging band until you have something better. Blue
  12. I'm offended by people saying silly things that make no sense. When did anyone ever think The Beatles were fantastic Musicians? Blue
  13. I doubt any of Quincys drummers had what it took to be a Beatle. It involved a lot more than drums. Blue
  14. Who cares what Macca thinks. I didn't like it. Blue
  15. I'm one of those die hards, maybe the biggest die hard. I did not appreciate Qs comments. Blue
  16. I'm completely down on QJ right now. He picked on the wrong guys. I'm maintaing my position on principal. In my world you don't rip on The Beatles. Blue
  17. Quincy can have his opinion, however his opinion goes right into my " makes no sense" box. Blue
  18. No actually we have another guy over here that also blurts out controversial statements that don't make any sense. Blue
  19. Good Lord Quincy. Most didn't know what an electric bass guitar was until Paul showed up. Blue
  20. I say completely un-understandable. Everyone knows the Beatles were not seasoned pro jazz studio musicians. Most ignorant comment of 2018. Way to go Q. Blue
  21. I'm very dissapoinred in Quincy. His opinion on Paul are stupid. No other way to put it. Blue
  22. Very nice, and that's a really nice case. Blue
  23. In the States paying gigs are a lot harder to win. Start ups, originals bands and for fun bands are lass picky Blue
