  1. Hi Dave, We've briefly touched on complimentary meals for the band here. Thursday night were doing an acoustic gig at a rather high end restaurant. We've done shows there before and unlike other clients I don't ever remember them offering up any grub. Seems sort of " chincy". Daryl
  2. I wish the owner luck. It's not easy establishing yourself with live music. Daryl
  3. Revere's *Summer Concert Series Featuring " She's Right I'm Left" Thursday Night 6:00-9:00 This is an acoustic gig and we're outside. I hope we have decent weather. Anything can happen in Wisconsin in June. We play to the dinner crowd. This is a high end crowd we usually do well with. Big tippers $$$. Daryl * Summer Concert Series. That's fancy talk. It use to be known as We Have Bands. Lol
  4. That's a cool looking venue. Daryl
  5. Sounds like a great weekend to me.👍 Daryl
  6. The rig looks great. I have always heard good things about Trace Elliot amps. Daryl
  7. Jack, believe me we have plenty of places that aren't intoto comping food. And to be honest I think we might have held the owner up for the ribs. Lol I had 1 comped diet coke. Daryl
  8. Humbleton was a 5-8 acoustic gig. Over an hours drive in rural Wisconsin. We were in the middle of nowhere. Older brewery and family restaurant. The building must have been from the 60s. At first I thought it was going to be a dud. However, the dining room slowly filled up with several fantastic families. We were basically background music. The staff and owner were great. I got paid 100 bucks plus 75 dollars in tips. Before we left the owner gave each of us a rack of barbecue ribs. A fun evening and home safe by 10:00. Thumbs up. Daryl
  9. This Saturday! Take a lil’ road trip with us, we promise you won’t be disappointed!! She's Right - I'm Left Hubbleton Brewing Taproom & Grill Daryl
  10. I think I complain too much. I just received this update. "Hey everyone, acoustic @Motor Sat 8/17, patio again if it's nice 👍🏻 " I'll take it. Daryl
  11. That looks like my kind of event. Very nice photos. 30 minutes is really cool and easy to manage material. I've done a few 40 minute shows, I love them. I always get jealous when I see photos like this. Do you get to play a lot of these upscale type gigs? Daryl
  12. Ok, no sugar coating the gig. We played outside on the patio. We really don't have a draw in Milwaukee and it shows. I'd say we had a poor turn out. Seems like we only have nice crowds at festivals and fairs where there's an embedded crowd. A little sad. Daryl
  13. Acoustic gig tonight. Great venue and staff. TONIGHT! Join us on the patio at MOTOR Bar & Restaurant! 5:30-8:30pm! BBQ & Blues / Music by: She's Right - I'm Left
  14. I doubt there's much difference between rock and country. Rock probably pays even less. Daryl
  15. While we have a thriving local music scene you have to play classic rock standards. Those are the bands playing the high pay high profile gigs. All other bands are for those that don't want or need the money and only want to gig occasionally. That's the way it is here. I can't speak for other areas Daryl
  16. For those of us in this for the money and consistent bookings it's really about keeping the crowd happy playing what they want to hear. If we played what I like to play, the place would be empty. Daryl
  17. This is huge discussion really. We dropped a ton of what I call " stinkers". I think some bands get into trouble when the set list is heavy on songs band members like and like to play. More often than not the crowd doesn't like what band members like. You have to play what t g e crowd wants not what we want. Daryl
  18. After thinking about it. It depends on the deal. The pay, length of tour caliber of venues and accommodations. If I was presented with a good deal where I would come home at a profit and put money in the bank even at 70 years old I'd take it. Daryl
  19. Off topic. Back at The local small time level. A close friend a drummers 9 peice ( 3 horns) booked a corporate gig in the upper peninsula. $300.00 per man plus 1 overnight hotel accommodation. Not bad. Daryl
  20. It's starting to seem that way. Daryl
  21. I was dating a young lady I met at a gig. It almost lasted a year. At the end of the day she wasn't into the whole band and gigging scene at all. Not comparable, however gigging and relationships can be tough. Daryl
  22. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Daryl
  23. It's weird for me because everyone in the band drinks except me. Daryl
