  1. Certainly not the type of effect for impact I was talking about. And I don't see a "band" anywhere in the video. All I see is a child with some sort of apptitude/abilty for hearing and recognizing chords. Blue
  2. I do think age has an impact on us. Not many have stated how old they were when " their band" touched their souls. For example someone mentioned Nirvana. I was certainly around when they came out. But I was an adult, married with 2 young children. No band was going to really touch my soul at that point in my life. I was 10 when The Beatles became "my band". Every move they made seemed relevant to me. Blue
  3. I don't think any band would have had any inpact on me as a 4 year old. Blue
  4. And Meet The Beatles and Something New we're probably my onlyy Beatles records. But I was never necessarily a Beatles records fanatic. I was and still am a Beatles fanatic. Huge difference Blue
  5. The thing about The Beatles, you don't have to listen to them or like them. They're still going to be The Beatles. Blue
  6. Usually it's the band that really hit you when you became of age. Coming of age in 1964 can sort of speak for itself. However you had to have some help. At age 10 my Dad purchased The Beatles Meet The Beatles and Something New. He also bought Manfred Man's album Do Wah Diddy for me. Some people come from homes where art in general and music were non-existent. I've heard people my age say, "I don't really listen to much music". To me that's like saying " I really don't breathe much' It's certainly nothing to brag about. Blue
  7. Consistency, you can't have 2 good gigs out of 4. Blue
  8. Nice tribute, I guess. Blue
  9. Exactly my point. Blue
  10. One of the few things being born in 1953 was good for. Being 10 years old in 63 was perfect timing. Before The Beatles most of my time was spent trying to figure out how to get more candy. Blue
  11. There will always be Jaco threads. I wonder why? Blue
  12. For me Dino from The Rascals (3 Italian & 1 Irish guy) was the first guy to take the drums to the next level for pop music. Very progressive for 1966. Blue
  13. Agreed, Did I forget to mention they also looked great in suits? Blue
  14. I never gave any thought to John's singing. I was listening to "The Beatles" It was all Fab. Blue
  15. Yeah it's weird. I get a cheap $12.00 haircut once a month. I found out from a friend who is in the business, even for a 12 buck cut they get pissed if you don't tip at least $5.00. But I get it, their hourley wage is a complete joke. Blue
  16. Cool as I mentioned our NYE gig hours are great, 2:00-7:00. I get home by 8:30. Blue
  17. Dave, on a good night tips can mean an extra $25.00 bucks per man. Blue
  18. Cool, I can dig it. Thing is anybody can be a drummer, Ringo was a Beatle. And that's hard to pull off. Blue
  19. It's been said before, the guy that shows up with the shiny new huge elaborate kit and can't play. Blue
  20. Great looking guitar and bass. A lot of binding and classic good looks. I hate to be an old geezer. But man did those guys look great in suits or what? Blue
  21. People think my head is so far up The Beatles arse nobody takes me seriously. As for Ringo, do drums even matter when you have songs that great? Blue
  22. Extra lessons, lol hilarious. I can't stop laughing.? Blue
  23. Since we're talking about money and some if you know I love sharing this story. There is this couple that come out to see our band. On 2 separate occasions they have tipped each band member and our sound person $100.00 each. That's crazy, a little embarrassing, awkward and awesome cool at the same time. I know our cultures are different on tipping. Over here had we tried to refuse the tip it would have been considered insulting. Blue
  24. That's where I'm at too. Put me in a packed bar full of live rock music fans with my band and I feel at home. Blue
  25. Now that I think about. In my area, there's no big pay upgrade for NYE gigs at the bar band level. I think the big NYE pay upgrades apply to Function and corporate band gigs. Blue
