  1. I'm 70 years old and all the other members of the band are in they're late 30s. I'm pretty slow when it comes down to tearing down lights and sound and driving at night isn't a good idea. Other than that I'm good for a few more years. Daryl
  2. I can see that. It's really like an anthem. Daryl
  3. A shuttle bus arrived and they all were wearing orange & camo. Fun, but very strange gig. I was surprised we could entertain such a young demographic. However, keep in mind there was a lot of booze flowing. And you guys know what can happen with free unlimited alcohol and youngsters. Daryl
  4. Fantastic gig and a Fantastic photo. Daryl
  5. I love that drum beat in the intro. Daryl
  6. Do you guys do "Saturday Night " ? Daryl
  7. Thanks Dave, Do you guys do the intro? Great looking band. I love the costumes, the energy and all the movement on stage. Daryl
  8. Dave, None of our band members seem to have much interest in taking pics or video. I'm the only one that trys to take gig pics. Last night was an exception. Most gigs were playing to folks with one foot on a banana peel and the other in the graveyard. Daryl
  9. Dave, I love the camera. During our break last night, I walked around looking for attention and anyone who wanted to take a picture with me. Lol A guy my age finally approached me and shared his whole life history with rock & roll with me. Lol Daryl
  10. I love " Ballroom Blitz" . And would love to see a video of you guys performing it. Daryl
  11. Well, it wasn't a Country Club. I guess you could call it a tent and the stage was adequate. The event had something to do with people that hunt with a bow. We played 3 long sets with 2 long breaks. They had a DJ playing Salsa when we were on break. There were a lot of attractive people that were advanced Salsa dancers. Very diverse crowd, which was cool. All ethnicities and ages.We were quite loud. We were pretty good and we actually had a lot of young people dancing. I didn't get home until 1:00. I don't like that. However the pay was top notch. I do like that. No video. However here's a few pics. All humorous comments are welcome. Lol Daryl
  12. Nice! Good lighting, the band d sounds and looks great t Daryl
  13. Hi Dave, We have a private event tonight. We're on the same page. Not sure the host's friends will share his appreciation of the band. Daryl
  14. Nice! Thanks for sharing the pics. Daryl
  15. Private Party tonight for Maple Road. Tented event with stage at a Country Club . That's what I'm told. Lol We start at 7:00. Daryl
  16. I took a pic of what we using for main and subs. We use the RCF stuff for smaller gigs. Daryl
  17. Nice! I listened to the clip with ear buds. Excellent vocals! Daryl
  18. Great comment Dave. At the local level here in the Milwaukee area ticketed events are primarily for signed known touring bands. This is fair and festival country and most municipalities have weekly live music series. All this stuff is usually free to the public. I hate to brag about our local live music scene. There's so much work we've had to turn gigs down because we couldn't fit it into our schedule. This is a tough one, but a good discussion. Especially for new young bands. At the end of the day you want to avoid playing gigs that don't match your band. However, there are exceptions. One being the money was too good to refuse or you're a new young band and you'll play anywhere .Another would be if your networking with an agent that can get you high profile gigs you can't get on your own. And sometimes we get surprised. I was somewhat skeptical on our gig Friday night at The Old Village Beer Depot. It turned out to be a great gig with a respectful size crowd. Allot of " boomers" that still like loud tube driven rock and blues guitar. We're good at that. I get that loud guitar bands are not welcome everywhere. I always say "good loud" is quite different than unbearable " bad loud ". Daryl
  19. Very cool gig. Daryl
  20. I had to post a Pic of mine. Daryl
  21. Pretty much exactly what it was.lol Daryl
  22. Yes very much so. Live and learn, back in 2007 when Maple Road formed I think we got taken advantage of allot. We finally learned how to say " no". Daryl
  23. Dave, I found out we billed them separately for sound & lights. Daryl
  24. Nice room! Daryl
  25. Hi Dave, I wasn't a multi band event. Just Maple Road 6-9. Daryl
