  1. That's worth considering. However I wouldn't want to compromise the transparency of the factory configuration. It's so seamless and quiet. Daryl
  2. Nice job! Daryl
  3. Mine is a 1994 ASAT. Definitely doesn't work in passive. I had it fail miserably at a gig once. I don't ever want to go through that again. Daryl
  4. I have to put a fresh 9 volt in my 1994 G&L ASAT Bass with active pre amp before every gig. It won't play in passive mode if the battery is dead. Daryl
  5. I like being wireless and having a decent size stage too. During sound checks I mark off three spots on stage II will shift on and off to. Daryl
  6. Dave, Here's a pic from last weekend at the Waukesha Blues Festival. Always wireless. Daryl
  7. We played from 5:30- 8:00. Not much of a crowd. It's a restaurant and live music is an after thought. We we're tight and I was happy with my playing. We actually tried some new material we covered " Work Song" by Hosier. I left with a comped baroque pulled pork entree. We also invested in new monitors for acoustic shows. I know Dave likes Harley so I took a few pics. Daryl
  8. Yes, we use RCF for smaller gigs and acoustic gigs. Daryl
  9. No amp Dave just a bass and an instrument stand. I'll use a di box and a monitor. Daryl
  10. We're about 90 minutes north of Chicago. Theres still a thriving gigging scene in Milwaukee and the surrounding counties. Daryl
  11. I can definitely handle sit in singers, blues harp and guitar. I get the willies playing with an untested drummer. Lol Daryl
  12. I struggle with stuff like that. I don't like it. I'm not even that big on folks sitting in. Usually it's initiated by the band leader. The rest of the band members are a lot more generous about sit ins than me. I'm a lot better with it than I use to be. It's really not a big deal. Most of the time it's local guys that are good. However, I think there are some gigs where it's not appropriate Daryl
  13. That's cool Dave. I've seen a couple of local singers well into their 70s that are still fronting bands and singing well . Daryl
  14. Back at The Harley Motor Bar & Restaurant this Saturday! Enjoy the *bourbon and BBQ specials and we’ll provide the tunes! 5:30-8:30pm Daryl *Seriously, who drinks bourbon in Wisconsin? That's a down south thing.
  15. It was a good gig. We played an hour slot, 3:45- 4:45. The sound on stage was fantastic. Blue
  16. It was a good gig. And the organisers stayed true to their word. Food & beverage was provided. Lol Daryl
  17. Just a super work horse bass. Mine is a 2000 MIJ 1951 reissue. I love that custom pick guard on your's. Daryl
  18. My favorite Spinal Tap scene is when they opened for a puppet show playing " free form" jazz. Lol Daryl
  19. Dave, I can't count the number of times I've read a post from a fellow bass chatter and said, "I thought that was just me" Daryl
  20. Fantastic Fender P. Daryl
  21. I like this topic. And what I like about bass chat. While our bands are all different we still deal with a lot the same issues. Comments? Daryl https://www.facebook.com/share/6sEwgPb8kbRQfoX3/?mibextid=D5vuiz
