I've had gigs that I wasn't looking forward to. They become a "get out and go get that money" proposition only. Sad but true. Blue

Very nice. I've been playing wireless for the past 12 years. Wouldn't have it any other way. I'm not going to venture out into the audience like some guys, however I like the freedom wireless gives you. Daryl

Like I said I struggle with it too. I think every band handles communications differently. Some of these guys on Bass Chat are playing with life long mates /friends. We're friendly to each other but not friends in the traditional sense. And I've been in the band since 2009 One thing about us, while there's not much communication there's also absolutely no drama or tension between members. Daryl

I'd never quit on my own. If Maple Road ever folded, I'd never be able to find another gigging band that would be a match for me. Blue

A drummer friend of mine spent 8 months putting together a cracking " oldies" band. At the last minute the bass player " flaked" out and bailed on them. They were too bummed and exhausted to look for a bass new player and gave up. I can't say I blame them. Blue

Sounds like our gig in Baraboo 2 weeks ago For those of you new to gigging, what Geaves describes is a part of the business. Your going to have challenging gigs. This Saturday it will be 48°, windy and rainy. Not what I would call glamorous. This is what I'm looking at. I will arrive with a smile and a cheerleader attitude. Blue

I struggle with it too. There's a bit of texting to confirm gigs. New songs are generally easy and learned on the fly at gigs. The other thing is I'm old school and started gigging in the mid 60s. The band members are half my age. My ideas and suggestions seem dated to them. Maybe they are? Daryl
