  1. What if they really enjoy listening to grunge and the experience your band brings ? Blue
  2. For me, when I was still working a traditional full time job gig money was extra cash to play with. When I retired gig money became a real and necessary income supplement. In someways I'll say quality is coming home from a showcase 60 minute gig with $450.00 in my pocket as opposed to $100.00 from a 4 hour pub gig. Blue

  4. Agreed , any gig where the crowd is decent and they're into tbe band is ideal. Blue
  5. That's cool. We've been having drummer issues and have been using allot of deps. Some have been ok and some could never find a groove. Blue
  6. I can't argue that one. Lol Blue
  7. We play originals and covers. We also have an acoustic offering. I use to think cover bands had it easy. But now, in my area even the good cover bands are struggling. Blue
  8. For me at 69 years young and been in the gigging game since age 12, classy gigs with premium pay upscale patrons with money is where I'm at. 30 years ago I'd play anywhere. Lol Blue
  9. We will drive, however that drive will be included in our fee. And it's going to be expensive. Blue
  10. Thanks Dave, I hope you had a good weekend. Blue
  11. I thought this would generate some good discussion. What do you gigging guys think?Would you rather play allot of gigs at questionable venues with low pay and poor logistics. This is where you'd be gigging 6 to 8 times a month. Or play premium gigs 2 times a month. Show case classy gigs with great pay and amenities? Bkue
  12. Just a follow up on the gigs. Our Friday night gig 8:30 - 11:30 was a good gig. We had a groove going the whole night. Good crowd with good tips. Probably our 4th gig at this place, The Carriage House. We found out they are closing and re opening under new owners and management. Over here 🇺🇸 that usually means no more live music. Sunday's biker bar gig 3-7 at The Road House was lousy. We had a dep drummer and nothing clicked. A real drag. Blue
  13. She's Right I'm Left Saturday 8/13 Carriage House Slinger WI 8:30-11:30 Maple Road Sunday 8/14 Dundee Road House Dundee WI 3:00 - 7:00 Busy weekend. I'll follow on how everything goes. Blue
  14. I've seen that. You get these guys that seem to want actually fall into the band. We don't play many bar or pub gigs anymore. But I remember those days. Standing up playing and a shoe sails pass your head. Lol Blue
  15. Mostly American vocal groups The Cowsills The Association Spanky& Our Gang Beach Boys The Vogues The Buckinghams Blue
  16. We played a local show for the Home Grown Foundation. They are big promotors of local artists and original music. Natural outside amphitheater. About 150 people showed up. We had an opener, we played 7-9. We used a dep drummer. I'd give us a C+. Blue
  17. Dmccombe, I took a few pics for you at the HD Museum yesterday. The gig went well. Great weather and receptive crowd. Blue
  18. Seems like we all played on a farm or a camp ground last night. Lol Blue
  19. Thanks Dave, but it's not that glamorous. They found out I was getting lost on the way to gigs and that I turned down a one way street and had cars driving towards me. Lol Blue
  20. Yes, Dave, I don't think we book anymore 4 hour bar gigs anymore. Those long hour gigs are no longer realistic for me at age 68. And lucky me, I no longer have to drive to gigs. They pick me up in the van. Two acoustic gigs this weekend. We're opening for a national touring Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band at The Holy Hill Art Farm tonight, 1 hour. Saturday we play the Harley Motor Bar & Restaurant at The Harley Museum Complex Saturday, 5:30-8:00. Blue
  21. We had a good gig at a multi band event last Saturday. Well attended. We played from 4:00-5:30. Blue
  22. Depends on what you are looking for. Is you're goal to be in a gigging band? Blue
  23. Maybe, The Kemper is complicated and they're not cheap. $1,700.00 Blue
