That's interesting, we've been gigging steadily since March. However all gigs have been outside events , public and private. We have gigs into October that are still outside. We haven't made any decisions about indoor bar gigs yet. Things might slow down by November. Blue

We played a 6:00- 9:00 private party. A couple were celebrating 15 years of marriage and renewed their vows. There were about 70 people. Good hours and above average pay. Blue

I've been off the last 2 weekends. Maple Road is back on stage this Sunday. It's an outside Country Club gig. We start at 5:00. We haven't played inside since the Covid. Side note, my friend and great guitarist/ producer of 60 years went to a an old recording studio that was selling off gear. He found a GK 400RB Ii. He sent it to me. The thing looks brand new. It's nice when you receive a gift you can actually use Blue

Separate room from the bar? We have had really bad luck with that. We will only book bar gigs when we're playing in the same room as the bar abd as close to the bar as possible. People are not going to choose us over alcohol. 😄 Blue

Maple Road had a busy weekend. We played Friday Night at a local Home Grown Music Festival in West Bend. Saturday we played A Holiday Camp gig at. The Tiki Beach Bar Resort in Campbellsport ( 4 hours). Sunday we played Hefner's 25 anniversary ( bar restaurant) in Grafton. All 3 gigs were outside. Nothing this weekend. Private gig the following weekend. Blue

I like having an extra $400.00 in my wallet from weekend gigs. It's a nice cushion. Unfortunately after summer all that might come to an end. Blue

Probably not. First of all for it would not be merely playing for free. It would mean traveling for free, loading in and out for free and setting up lights and sound for free. Even in this Covid environment I can't imagine a venue asking for services for free. Blue

Maple Road has been out gigging since March. However we have not played any traditional bar/ pub gigs. We have been playing private parties and events with budgets. We have not had to discount our services yet. We have 3 gigs next weekend, however we have nothing on the books for fall. Blue

We played a cool private event to a distanced crowd of 75. The band was clicking on all 6 cylinders. It was a fun gig, more than generous pay and after the drinks kicked in the crowd became a lot more appreciative. "Howdy fellas. Here's the scoop for the private Maple Rd. gig this Sat. . We need to be setup and sound checked by 6:15, people start showing up at 6:30 and you'll play 7-10. I plan on getting there at 5. Lots of drinks and food available, we're more than welcome to partake. Huge yard, patio space is decent size to setup on with good power, we just can't block the door to the kitchen because food will be kept inside. About 70 ppl. have rsvp'd and they're super excited. "

Yes, duos and acoustic gigs are popular. That's one reason I've been able to stay busy. Our band Maple Road has a scaled down acoustic act. If Maple Road is too expensive we can offer our acoustic product. Blue

I hope I'm writing the same story when I'm 74. That will be 8 years . Blue

I'm lucky. I would say for retired guys like me with a pension, I don't spend more than I earn.I never travel more than 30 minutes to a gig and my gear has been paid for, for years. My gig earnings go straight into a savings account. Blue

I hear you, while my band is still gigging it's a small fraction of the business we were doing last year this time. Blue

I'm curious. I understand the days of the big royalty checks for pro hit makers ended with US FCC law years ago. Many artists had to make the lions share of their income from touring. This can't be good for those folks. Blue
