  1. Nice, I hope the gig in Paisley is a " go " Blue
  2. Hi Pete, Good to hear from you. Yeah, I like you're plan for New Years Eve. I'm in New Jersey having a blast with 2 generations of family. However, Covid has thrown a few obstacles at us. I'll be back in Wisconsin in time for that 3-7 New Years Eve gig. Really, those early hours and short commute make all the difference in the world. Happy Holidays to you and you're family Pete. Stay in touch. Daryl aka Blue
  3. Good Point Blue
  4. When they do the count down I never get a kiss from any of the ladies. 🙁 Blue
  5. You can't beat that. After my gig , I will return home alone. That's not too bad either. Blue
  6. Nice, our bands look similar. Female front ? Blue
  7. That's cool. I also play in two bands. Same members, however one offering is a 3 to 4 piece acoustic band. The other is a 4 piece electric blues rock band " Maple Road ". I've been really busy because the acoustic band is easier to book. Blue
  8. I hope they have enough room for the bass player. We've played in small spaces and had to cut back on drums and PA gear. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Blue Jay. Blue
  9. What are you up to this New Years Eve ? Staying home, party , gig ? Me , very low key. Gig at The Barley Pop in Germantown WI. Great hours, 3:00 - 7:00 with 15 minute commute. I should be home by 9:30. Blue
  10. Surgery is done and I'm moving forward. Blue Thanks Dave. Between Maple Road and our acoustic act I had the busiest summer of my life. Blue
  11. We had an acoustic gig on Saturday. The Tumble Rock Brewery. Good hours engaged crowd and good pay. We played a 2:00 - 5:00 set. Most important, we had fun. Blue
  12. Great hearing from you Dave. Blue
  13. Love your commentary. I did the 65 gigs a year for a few years , probably 2009 - 2012. I couldn't do that now. Hope your auditions turn into something good. Blue
  14. That sounds cool Dave, Very nice that you had a nice summer with some good giigs.gigs. Same for me, I really got spoiled. Decent festival slots , we opened for a " Headliner" at Shank Hall" , just higher end gigs with short hours and good pay. Plus, I didn't have to drive. They picked me up in the Maple Road van. I'm sure reality will set in soon. Are you still gigging the Gibson Thunderbird? Blue
  15. Yeah, I get it. I guess part of my problem is I'm retired and at 68 I look at things differently now. I talk big about getting away from dumps and 4 hour night gigs. However, If I can add $600.00- $700.00 dollars to my monthly income I'm going to do it. 68, some might say, time to give it up and others will say, thank God I can still do this. Thanks for the content BassAce. Blue
  16. Another great story. Blue
  17. Hi Dave, How are you doing? Those sound like nice gigs. Blue
  18. I hate to sound like an eletist. But, at 68 I have more of an appreciation for higher profile gigs and more upscale crowds. Playing dumps, I'll pass on those gigs. Blue
  19. Great Commentary, I'm making several life health changes. Blue
  20. Thanks EZ Bass, I'm feeling good today. Daryl
  21. For those who want to join a gigging lucrative band I hope you can recognize bands with no connections or business strategy. One of the best bands musically that I've played in couldn't get a gig anywhere and a more marginal band has more gigs than they can handle Blue
  22. Many of us would rather play to 10 engaged attentive people than 1,000 people hardly interested. Blue
  23. I'm taking it real easy. I'm not driving or doing any lifting. No set up or tear down. Blue
  24. That's my 1991 G& L ASAT Bass with active pre- amp. Blue
