Woodwind, I've read the posts here. I don't think anyone hates gigging. I think we all struggle with certain aspects of gigging. The only exception would be for those who have a real fear of being on stage. Who hates a well paid 40 minute gig with first class dressing rooms and sound and lights provided ? I struggle with the longer gigs. 3 hours is our limit and even 3 hours are tough for me at my age ( 69 ). I also struggle with places that book bands but don't understand bands or how to treat them. It was a good gig. The 2 1\2 sets had a nice flow. I thought we sounded pretty good. Nice crowd and a few fans showed up. The Motor is always a nice gig. Blue

Excellent, any serious gigging band is already heavily booked into 2023 and has some kind of business model in place and has a great network and connections. For bands that want to gig allot should understand it's hard work and not a hit or miss proposition. It's important to understand the value of your contacts. Losing a contact can be the kiss of death for a gigging band. Blue

Hi Dave, I do not use an amp for acoustic gigs. I walk in with my Gibson ES-335 or my German made Hofner Club bass and an instrument stand and DI right into the PA. And not to rub it in, I don't drive to gigs anymore. The guys pick me up in the van. How are you doing Dave? Blue aka Daryl

Do not bring that bass again... please
Bluewine replied to javi_bassist's topic in General Discussion
I gig and rotate about 7 different bass guitars. Not one band member has even made a comment. I don't think most guys know one bass from the other or even notice what bass your playing. I actually think I could show up with a Fender Stratocaster and they wouldn't even notice. Blue -
What is this Dog & Duck. Is it a franchise? Blue

I'm glad the new owners are keeping the live music model. Over here in the States a change of ownership is usually the kiss of death to live music. Blue
