Nice! I like the solution approach. Bands that are auditioning have a problem and they're looking for a solution. If you can get a " heads up" on what's going on with a band in terms of that problem your already ahead of the game. Blue Blue

A noticable comand of the genre would be something I hope I bring to the table. Blue

I'm not sure what I bring or how I come across at auditions.I would hope I come across as experienced and prepared at the bare minimum. I won't audition if I'm not prepared, I'll cancel first. I won't audition for a band if I know I'm not a good match for the band. Blue

We've been auditioning guitarist recently to replace a founding band member. Interesting how some guys show up unprepared and lack luster for a money making opportunity . And some guys show up prepared, professional, interested and with stand out style and abilities. What do you think you bring to an audition and how you come across at an audition? Blue

Now that I think about it , how can Paul McCartney be overrated. It doesn't make sense to me. Blue

More money from playing bass and even more money from being one of the most prolific song writers of our time. No other bass player has Paul's credentials. Blue

I would say at some level we're all influenced by McCartney whether we know it or not, whether we accept it or not.The chain is always going to lead back to McCartney in my opinion. In the States most of us weren't thinking about the electric bass guitar until we saw McCartney in 1964. As a matter of fact we didn't know what an electric bass guitar was. Blue

I love that tune. Over here some might call it "Ghetto". The bass player is walking his butt off, especially on the bridge. Blue

This by no means what I would call smooth over produced funk. I think " Funny Walk" was released in 1967. It's raw and fabulous. Incredible groove and vocals. Blue

I'm a 66 year old Beatles fanatic. However if I've learned anything from this forum it's how popular The Shadows were in England. We knew about The Shadows here in the States but I guess there wasn't room for them and The Beatles. Blue

Understood, I'll tell you, that Hofner Violin Bass was certainly and "eye catcher" for us kids in the States. Blue

I really don't think so. The band leader is a milinnial,they think so differently from an old baby boomer like me. Plus her acoustic duo has bookings and they're doing fine. Blue

St. Patrick day bar gig at The BlondePop. It was an 8-12 gig, place was packed. We were awful. I'm having serious thoughts about getting out. My band is falling apart after 16 years. Blue

And we respect Paul because he didn't have 50 years of Rock & Roll bass playing and hundreds of bass players to look back on and draw from. Paul was pioneer. Blue

If I could meet any famous bass player Paul would be number 1 on my list. Blue
