  1. My advice, always define what you're looking for in a band before you start looking. Daryl
  2. Fantastic review Dave, Please post any vids or pics when they surface. Daryl
  3. It would be a dream for me to play anywhere in England. Daryl
  4. Yeah, it's a Tuesday...but it's not too early to look forward to the weekend and a Maple Road double-header! Sat. 8/3: Maple Road LIVE @ Wisconsin State Fair; Major Goolsby's Stage! 3:45pm-6:45pm. Fried stuff on a stick, a giant slide, unmatched people watching, and a whole lot of live rockin' blues! Sun. 8/4: Maple Road LIVE @ Kettle Moraine Supper Club! 2pm-5pm. Happy to be making our debut performance here! Come on out for some Sunday Funday action and we'll show 'em how we do things!
  5. That's a cool look. The red whimsical shirt and that red Jet. Daryl
  6. Man, those things look cool. Daryl
  7. Sounds like it wasn't a great weekend. All it takes is a good weekend to feel good. Hopefully this coming weekend will be good. Daryl
  8. Thanks for sharing your story Meterman. I would bet most of us here on BC have faced more than one bump in the road. Daryl
  9. I know a few guys that tried to make a living from gigs. They ended up with 35 years of making a few bucks here and there. These guys are now in their 60s and 70s and financially screwed. And by that time it's too late. Daryl
  10. Agreed, I like where your heads at. My story is a little different. Started playing and gigging as a young teen. However, I went to college and got my degree in business administration right after high school. I played in jazz and stage band for four years. I worked a traditional job as a worker's compensation examiner for 35 years. My real gigging and making money experience didn't start until I was 60 years old with a pension. That was 10 years ago. Daryl
  11. Nice job. Looked like a fun gig. Daryl
  12. Nice groove. You guys didn't lose a beat. Daryl
  13. I sort of get it too. Out of all the musicians I know only 2 were able to make a living from performing in bands. Daryl
  14. OMG! I'm getting old and forgetful. Sorry for the duplication guys. Daryl
  15. This mostly pertains to the brave guys trying to make a living from playing. It's hard for me to challenge this guy. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/oPTYQMqZUkYxf5GZ/?mibextid=xfxF2i Daryl
  16. Agreed, but I'm not the biggest fan of having a tip jar passed around. However, I'd say most of the tips were from people walking up to the jar. Daryl
  17. That was not our tip jar. The Baaree puts that jar on a stand in front of the band . They also pass it around through the crowd. Mykes, the $100.00 was not a tip. The head bartender asked If we'd play an extra 30 minutes for a hundred. He put the note in the jar Daryl
  18. Dave, The $100.00 wasn't really a tip. The head bartender asked if we'd play an extra 30 minutes for a hundred bucks. He put the note in the jar. However it was a good tip night. Daryl
  19. Now that's what I call upscale. I'd fit in with you guys. 👍 Daryl
  20. Thanks Mykes, I know we all play in different levels of the gigging game and it's fun to share stories because we all see the good and the bad side of it. Daryl
  21. Hilarious I'm not kidding we have a local band that somehow financed a state the art full blown touring bus. Can you imagine showing up in that to a $400 00 gig? Daryl
  22. Funny A few years ago we played an acoustic gig for a "low end" wedding reception. We played in the corner of the tent on grass. In a word " Glamorous " lol Daryl
  23. I like the red trailer mobile stage! Daryl
  24. Yes, they provided a wonderful plot of gravel for a stage.lol Daryl
