  1. Don’t really like standing basses against stuff so been looking to see what would fit, wondered about the Hercules Cello auto grab stand but not convinced it will be tall enough, anyone here use a stand for one of these?
  2. Whilst I love labella FL for the first 6 months, once they go all thuddy I’m not so keen on them, so here we have 4 sets of labella flatwound FL, all about 6 months old, £20 each plus postage. also I keep trying chromes and I keep deciding that I don’t like them, so lightly used chromes which have been on and off a couple of times, all cut for a Fender jazz with plenty on winding. Again £20 plus postage
  3. £440 for a Mesa Walkabout combo seems very cheap to me. Needs a knob and ideally some new material for the grill which wouldn’t break the bank....
  4. All looks good, if I lived closer.... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F163784087022
  5. If anyone is interested I got myself one of these, it’s meant for a DJ to carry their LP’s but fits the Mesa head like a glove and is built like a tank, I can highly recommend this if someone is looking to transport their walkabout head. 6. What about this ? Dimensions look ok... Jack & Cable 50 x 12 Inch LP Vinyl Record Box ABS/Aluminium Reinforced - Lockable & Durable Record Storage https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0189K0NZ4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_gezwDb7Y8TMR2
  7. Annoyingly the purpose made Mesa bag goes for $59 but we have to buy from a European dealer which puts it over £100....
  8. Thanks for that, I’m guessing there may be a little wiggle room in that bag so may just be snug on the front, the amp itself measures 12x12 but the knobs take it to 13... 😬
  9. Anyone know whether it would fit in this? Gator G-MIXERBAG-1212 12 x 12 x 5.5-Inch Mixer/Gear Bag https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00T0OJG5M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_A6awDb2FE46GX
  10. Been looking for a small amp to take to practice but decided to take my walkabout head instead, but want to keep it nice and safe, all recommendations for strong and snug bags welcome.
  11. Best combo you can get, I have the 15 inch version which is an absolute beast...
  12. Oh yes, love spitfire, had one on a precision, I’m tempted....
  13. Now these are great, my guitarist has the red one and its awesome..
  14. Stackpole pot from 1974, all works as it should and in decent condition, serial number is 3047449. This came out of a 71 Jazz that had pots changed and I replaced them with the correct period ones. I also have a late 80s pot which came out the same jazz which I will throw in as well.
  15. One of the things that surprises me about the new basses being made is the quality of the finishing of the wood, the binding, the blocks, the frets on my VM Jazz is superb, I have a USA Geddy Less Jazz which is a beautiful bass and which retails at £1900, my VM Jazz cost £120, and whilst both play and feel wonderful, the difference in the build quality of necks and body to my eyes is minimal... the hardware is a different matter..
  16. Considering the precision machines that are used in the construction of basses these days, and the finishing off of the neck and body is excellent, is the main difference the just hardware?
  17. Well since I picked this up for £120, I’ve had a bit of spare cash to mod it a little. So far I’ve put on a badass 2 bridge, swapped out those teeny tiny little pots for some CTS pots, put some Hipshot HB7 tuners on, next will be some decent pickups, at which point the only original bits will be the body and the neck....: It does raise the question that at which point, if at all, does this become better than a mim Fender Jazz, since the neck and body are all computer cut to perfection these these days regardless of where they are made, and the necks and body’s of the Modified Vintage Models are finished off so beautifully, is it only the hardware which makes the fender Mexicans or US better? And if we swap out the hardware for some quality kit what are we left with which is inferior?
  18. I’ve had the 12 before and currently have the 15, both are great, turn that gain up and you get some awesome phatness... these are still the best combos out there.
  19. You get great bang for your buck with these, and you just can’t beat black blocks and binding on a maple neck..
  20. I’m having it, I just need to save up. Can you put it on hold for say......:. six years😬😬😬
  21. She’s a beauty, looks in great condition. I just love to see some good old fender tort, looks like someone lit a fire in there
  22. That’s a lovely bass, I regret selling my Sandberg ☹️
  23. Thought I’d dress her up for the evening, looks great but a bugger to play with all that chrome getting in the way...
  24. Despite trying several drummers this is still a vacancy.
