  1. I actually find I get less noise with either channel than I do from the sansamp..
  2. I started looking at liquid talc, this stuff looks like it will do a similar job, if it prevents moisture it should stop them getting sticky.
  3. I’ve never tried nylon flats before, what’s the deal with these feel / tone wise?
  4. I’ve used fast fret before and found it ok but not great, but I’m approaching this on the principle that the issue is too much moisture and heat and not a lack of lubricant, this stuff should “hopefully” make playing after two hours the same as after two minutes, we shall see. i have a set of TI flats strung on my Jazz bass for my next gig a week today, I’ve found that they play like butter for an hour and then I struggle with them, I shall see what happens.
  5. Yep, whilst I love my sansamp, I think this is in another league.
  6. I’ve been playing with a Sansamp programmable bass driver for a couple of years, however I thought I’d try out the Two Notes Le Bass preamp which has a 12AX7 tucked inside it to get those nice tubey tones and that pleasing break up which tubes can get. its a superb preamp with a clean channel and a high gain channel, you can also mix the two channels either in series, where channel 1 feeds into the gain of input of channel 2, or in parallel where they are layered together. This does give quite a wide pallet of flavours from a lovely clean tubey tone to a bit of grit and gentle break up, to full on distortion. The knobs and build quality are superb, i have found that the knobs can move a little in the pedal board box, but the controls are very intuitive. ive not gigged it yet, but really am looking forward to giving it a good blast.
  7. I think it depends on how much your fingers sweat, I don’t think mine sweat too much, but still after about 45 minutes it’s like playing on glass..
  8. Whilst I love playing flats for about 45 minutes, I find that they get progressively more sticky and ultimately impossible to play. im going to give this “below the belt” anti chafing cream a go and report back. This should stop my fingers getting sweaty and thus prevent the stickyness. It also has the added benefit that I can liberally apply to my bollocks after the first set if I find myself sweating excessively in the groin area, I should then have lovely fresh smelling bollecks and lose those sticky flats, win win.. i shall report back after my next gig 👍🏻 Below the Belt Grooming Fresh & Dry Balls, 75 ml, Fresh https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B013L1WT30/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_1YB7BbRTN5QXN
  9. I got two 12 inch 8Ohm Celestion BN12-300s speakers up for grabs in excellent condition, £80 each or £150 for the pair
  10. Love these combos, they just sound so good... its crazy that you can pick quality up like this for this type of money, I suppose everyone wants light stuff these days.
  11. Try the rotosound jazz 77 flats, I was looking for just what you’re after and tried every flat and ground out there, these are flats but with just a slight bit of texture to stop that dragging burning that you can get with flats when you get sweaty, made it the UK too 🇬🇧
  12. Having read through most of this thread and trying to understand how this works, am i right in thinking that all these combos we see which run at 300 watts at 8 Ohms and 500 Watts at 4 Ohms, will in all liklihood have two internal 16 Ohms speakers wired in parallel, or two 4 Ohm speakers in serial, which run at 8 Ohms, and then when the 8 Ohms extension cab is connected it runs as two 8 Ohm speakers in parallel at 4 Ohms giving the full 500 watts... ?
  13. Thanks, would there be a preferred way to do this, or do manufactures do it differently, would two 4 ohm speakers in serial or 16ohm in parallel make any difference to the performance or sound??
  14. Many combos such as the Fender Rumble 500 will have two power ratings I.e: 500 Watts @ 4 ohms (with External Speaker), 350 Watts @ 8 ohms (Internal) i wondered how this is achieved, I “think” it would be by having the two internal speakers as 4ohm wired in series, which gives you the 8ohm load when operating the combo by itself, then once an 8ohm extension cab is connected it effectively becomes two 8ohm cabs in parallel which run at 4ohms. Is this correct and will most combos have there speakers wired in series if there is the ability to add an extension cab??
  15. Pedaltrain Volto, good condition and still got its box. Charges using a mobile phone charger and gives good battery life. has One single connector and one daisy chain of 4.
  16. How about the tecamp 112, similar weight size and power to the Mark bass 121 but a warmer sound...
  17. It had incredible sound for a 200watt combo with a single 10 inch speaker, but as you say, without pa support it ain’t gonna cut a loud gig by itself.
  18. Forgot to mention I had an AER amp one, customer services second to none, I bought my amp one second hand, it was five years only and started farting out, sent it back to AER to repair and they couldn’t find the problem, so they just sent me a brand spanking new style one.... i sold it though 😬
  19. Well I just picked up myself a TecAmp Classic 212 combo, I wasn’t looking to buy anything as this gives me three rigs, however I’ve always been interested to see what these can do. I’ve always been a combo man and have had most of the best of them, Walkabouts, both 12 and 15, SWR Redhead, Markbass 12 combo and the 210 combo, Ampeg B-15 and the very heavy, very reasonable priced and excellent sounding Peavey Bam 210 combo. and having taken my new toy to rehearsal yesterday I can say that I am extremely pleased with this. It’s loud, it’s light, it’s even got wheels on the back, and sounds lovely, thick and creamy, what an excellent combo this is. the gold standard is always going to be the Mesa Boogie Walkabout (the 15 is my preference), however this is right up there. Im guessing that the new Eich combos are the same as these with a few tweaks and different branding, either way, this is rather excellent and will get gigged on Friday night 😁🎶🎵🎶
  20. I said it about the last one that came up for sale and I will say it about this one, awesome combo and yes, one of the best ones out there.
  21. Good price too, I paid a good wedge more than this for mine...
