  1. Another thing about these, the silks look to have been coated in either a plastic or silicone, I’ve taken a set off one bass and put them on another a couple of times and they still look perfect, no fraying at all. 😀
  2. And here’s that TI E string magnified even more....
  3. And here is the rather marvellous magnifier, just clips over the lens on my phone, only cost a couple of quid from Amazon....
  4. And her is the TI A, Then the D and G string. Interesting how these don’t have the same spacing as the E String....
  5. Here we have the rotosound pressurewound E string, can see the edges have been smoothed off. Unfortunately I don’t have any round wounds to compare all these too 😟
  6. Ahah...I have some rotosound pressure wounds, I will take a picture of them in the morning 😀
  7. The magnifier just clips over my iPhone camera, the photos are all of E strings, will put some A strings up later. the TI flats have only been on a couple of week, feel and play great, I think that slight gap between the windings reduces the friction a little which you can get on flats, having said that, the Dunlop’s are polished very smooth and play great too..
  8. Got a magnifier for my iPhone so for a bit of fun I thought I’d have take a few close ups of my flats, first we have some super smooth Dunlop flats (which I like very much) then some TI flats which are about a month old, o was surprised how wide the windings look close up, and how much gunk is already in there, then some super smooth DR Legends, then Rotosound Jazz 77s, interesting how you can see the tool marks on these...
  9. I do love a flea bass, I’ve had a number of these in my time.
  10. I had an amp one for a while and have regretted moving that on...
  11. It is awesome, I just always end up using my Tecamp combo as it’s half the weight and got wheels, maybe I just need to stop being so lazy 🧐
  12. Would consider trades for a top quality smaller powerful combo, and can always be tempted by a jazz bass 😬
  13. Selling my rather exceptional Mesa boogie walkabout 15, 4 ohm version which gives you the full 300 watts straight into the rather spectacular 15 speaker, ive never needed to but apparently these can drop down quite happily to 2 ohm if you want to add an extension cab. In very good condition and also comes with Mesa cover. This gets very loud and has a beautiful tube tone which breaks up nicely as you increase the gain, the head can be removed by taking out a few screws and used as a separate. One of the best combos out there.
  14. Is this the version with the angled can?
  15. I’m loving my stomp, I’ve downloaded some IR’s and presets from 3 sigma audio which are an improvement on my own creations, (even with the help of John Willis), and it interesting to see how they have set up their presets, the greatest challenge I’m finding is honing in the the right eq. I find the 3 sigma presets have far too much treble, whilst my own had too much bass, and whilst I think I’ve got it balanced through headphones or on my amp at home, in the practice room I’m either mushy and can’t be heard, or again have too much treble. The problem is not the pedal, it’s awesome, I think getting the eq right takes more trial and error than a pedal with less power and dynamic options to try.
  16. Another price drop, practically giving it away.....£120
  17. I find Teemah the best option for most kinds of dirt, awesome effect.

She’s a beauty, only gets flats on her these days, need to look after those 47 year old frets!

1972, all original Jazz bass, was Olympic white which has faded to a rather beautiful buttermilk colour, she’s had a tough old life but she’s been getting plenty of love from me over the last couple of years...
