One of the things that is making me pause at the moment is that Line6 don't have the best reputation for keeping up with Mac OS X updates.

Can't comment not the Helix software but the IOS app for the Firehawk was really great. Certainly one of the best mobile apps for music devices I've come across. Potentially Line 6 being owned by Yamaha might give them a bit more resources when developing software.

  2. I'm pretty much moving to in ears (deafness!) and the band have an X32 desk so it looks ideal. And the option of being able to have a two output channels looks really cool. I used to have a Sansamp RPI and RPM into a power amp with separate outs which I loved but was just too heavy.

    Very.

There's no internal differences between full fat Nd LT.

Usual rules apply as for every preset based item: bin the presets and make your tone from scratch

I think the LT would be more than enough for me. I love my pedals and I have some classics but the board is huge and it's a pain in the arse! I bought a Firehawk for messing about in the house and was frankly quite impressed by that.

  4. Hi folks and apologies for being lazy but this is a monster thread! I just bought a pair of Ultimate ear Triple Fi 10s, the drummer in my band had his re-shelled in Florida by https://www.inearz.com and they have done an awesome job, I was thinking of using them. I reckon there should be no duty as it's a repair (maybe). But is there anyone in the UK who you would recommend to re-shell? Thanks!

If you can't hear any hiss noise then check the speaker and associated wiring first.

Hi Whizzzy thanks for that, i didn't hear any audible hiss but I'm pretty deaf! I did put a set of cans into the headphone out and nothing, I dunno if that helps with the diagnosis.

Don't know much about the Firehawk.
    [/quote]

I think it has lots of the same sounds as the HD500x but not as full featured and you can't install the bass pack but it has the app and bluetooth which was what attracted me to it. As I mentioned I just wanted something to practice with and so far it seems great. Built like a tank as well.... need to buy a bag now ;)

  8. I ended up getting a Firehawk relatively cheap on eBay, I know it doesn't have the bass pack so getting useable tones will definitely be harder but the app is just so good for editing I reckon it will be fine. It feels like it might be a product in transition but so far I think it's really great. The hassle for me with multi fxs has always been a clunky UI, making single stomps or no pedals preferable but this is a real improvement.

  9. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the HD 500x as a practice rig? They are popping up here and there around the 250/300 mark. I have a an Aguilar TH 350 and an old EA CXL at home at the moment and it undoubtedly sounds great but I don't turn it up and it takes up space. Just think one of these and some good cans (which I have many!) could be good.

    Any thoughts?

  10. Does anyone know of an extender for a quarter inch jack? I picked up one of those little Samson wireless units and the transmitter doesn't fit in the recessed socket of my Wal. It's just for messing about the house (trying to be tidy!) so no big deal. The only thing I could see was a mono to stereo adapter but dunno if that would work?
