1. Hi Guys thanks for the replies. Not tourist visas we are 'exceptional aliens' or something! But our employers are stated as the festival organisers. Been a right palaver but hopefully all sorted!
2. One of the guys has sourced some but it's quite expensive.
3. Does anyone have any suggestions for insurance that covers gear and you? I'm playing in the states next week and dunno if yer average travel insurance will work. To all intents and purposes I am an employee of the festival organiser so not sure what insurance I should get.
4. That looks like just the chap I'm after.
5. Can anyone recommend a decent cheap gigbag. I have one of those skb bass safes and need a gig bag for it. Padded is good but if the straps etc are sh*t it's no big deal.
6. I really fancy one of these madbean compressors but unfortunately can't wire a plug. Does anyone build them or is that not the done thing?

Amazing venue
Many old churches are being used as alternative venues but the sound in them is not generally kind to bands so volume is key... Forget any loud acts completely
Completely agree, however, the sound in Cottiers is actually excellent. It's a theatre really and I think it's had work done to sort out acoustics. We had an excellent, top quality PA, which sounded tremendous. There was a horn section a few tracks and low whistle and bouzouki in others and they were clear as a bell!

The pipe organ has just been renovated, if we had had our wits about us we could have got our keyboard player up there!

It's Cottiers Theatre in Glasgow. An old converted church, doesn't do many bands.

Eno pedals

Has anyone tried the optical compressor and where can you buy them?
12. I was in a meeting and I saw him walking out the door bass in hand. Ran out to shake his hand. He was really nice.
13. He is playing with Judith Owen and was in the BBC in Glasgow.
14. He was a lovely bloke. Totally over it!
15.
I have a Providence Dual Bass Station, which I run with two basses, and it is a terrific piece of kit. It's 24 volt operation, so there's tons of headroom, 3 band eq with sweepable mids, mute, and tuner out. I much prefer it to the Tonebone I used to have, which I felt always sucked some tone out of the bass.
I'm playing in the states in a couple of months, I'm going to try and pick one of these up.

Eden WTDI

Does the Eden have two channels?
19. Yamaha BB 1100s Bass Guitar, Made in Japan 1984, natural. Active electronics 3 band EQ. Was looking for one of these for ages and it doesn't disappoint fantastic PJ bass. Amazing build quality, sounds tremendous active and passive. Better quality than basses that cost considerably more. A classic of the future! I'm only selling because I have too many basses. Bass is in great condition I've added some pics some wear and tear but generally immaculate for a bass of this vintage. Tradewise I'm looking for a two channel pre and some cash! Will post at buyers expense.
