This sound like our first 50 gigs! We ended up putting a massive band logo on the bass drum. It was quite funny how many picture there were of different bands in different publications, all with our band logo on! Seriously tho, I'd politely decline, and go do some gigs you'll really enjoy!

Stood up, maybe one foot on monitor. Stack amp loud enough to drown out drummer and guitarist. It's the only way....

This female bass bass player had to get it off her chest!

THAT is how it's done! It's beautiful!!

I'd love to give it a go, I always give a err...'lively' performance! Problem is: I'm only 5"6' and when I stand next to be bass it comes above my nipples, coupled with the fact I have it slung around my knees...

Don't know actually, just found them through Google! Haven't MySpazzed them! I was hoping to have the merch around the start of December! Grr!

Has anyone here ever used“BargainBandMerch.com? I ordered some badges and stickers, and payment was taken over a month ago, yet I still haven’t received anything. They aren’t responding to any form of contact etc. I’ve now disputed it with Paypal, but that’s going to take ages. Just wondered if anyone else had ever dealt with them? Failing that, does anyone know anywhere cheap to get the above items made?

Not sure if you can see in this pic, but I've added a couple of subtle white dots (tipp-ex pen) on the small rollers so I can see if they've moved... I dont know the magic behinf the series / parallel swich, but I have mine like this, just works for me!

I had this as my main bass for many, many years (in my avatar!) I had it set up by a pro for £70 and it completely transformed it. Love the chequer plate! Nice one!

Hi Tim, IMO Myspace is a fantastic tool for musicians, I don't know how life worked without it! However it's no substitute for word of mouth. Once you're 'out there' you should have plenty of gigs - We normally play with 2-3 other bands on the bill, so generally get introduced to 100+ bands per year, hence we're never short on offers for gigs! Anyway, my advice is just get the best recording you can afford, this will also involve the begging, borrowing and stealing of what ever musicians you need! Definitely get some decent photos up, a lot of people that look at your profile will either be at work: with no sound card, or need it set to mute, or on a phone that doesn't support Myspace player. They will just have your pic and your description to go on... Also, keep it simple. If your page takes ages to load people will just click 'Back'. And never, never put pink writing on a lilac background! Look forward to 'Befriending' you! P.S please feel free to check mine out below (NoPlanB.info) although as always it's in need of updating!

I was surprised to find this pic of me on the net, not as surprised as I look on stage tho... There's one for the ladies...

I haven't. But I came very close last week... It was our last gig with our current drummer, so we decided to send him off with a bang. The pub was extremely busy, and extremely hot. I was extremely nervous. We played an energetic hour long set, (we normally only get about half hour) and we launched into a cover of Blurs 'Song 2'. I went bananas. I felt my feet slightly stumble, no biggy, I'm quite good on my feet and have pretty good balance if I say so myself. But my vision just went blurry, and all of the muscles in my body just all went limp all at the same time. It went quiet for a second. It was actually quite peaceful. My vision snapped back into focus, just as my chest hit the monitor. I had broken the fall slightly with my arms, and was unhurt. It must have just looked like I was milking a trip. Did I carry on? of course I did! I felt well rough for a couple of days after tho! Just after (no I hadn't been drinking)

Was mixed: It was an awesome gig, but our last one with our current drummer, so was a bit sad.

What's your most surreal moment in music?
i played a gig last april and had a bunch of girls who i had never met or even seen before wildly screaming my name.... it was most odd
I went to a gig last April dressed as a girl and screamed at the Bass Player.... Hi mate, didn't know you were on here! -
Phworrr!!!! Beautiful. Although you know I'm going to tell you that you got the wrong colour I know that'll sound as good as it looks too.

Does anyone else play a lot of open strings?
urbanx replied to Cat Burrito's topic in General Discussion
Ha ha great thread, I thought I was the only one! One of our songs has a great oppertunity for open strings. I place my right thb on my nose and wave my fingers at my drummer whilst blowing a raspberry, before giving the crowd a cheeky wave, pointing at the guitarist and rolling my eyes before getting back to the bass solo. Oh yes. -
It was all arty and shadowy in the spare room yesterday...

Gotta love body coloured headstocks! If only Fender would pull their finger out and make a Jagstang Bass. Someone even photoshopped one up once as an April fool! Golchen - Cheers! I use a Canon 350D with a 24-85mm IS USM lens
-
'tis red Not sure why Fender didn't colour-code the Olympic White?
-
University of life +1 My suggested syllabus: 1) take your favourite album, 2) print off the tabs 3) take both of these, and you bass into a room, and lock it. 4) unlock it when you've learnt it. Repeat as required...

My Nan says "Oh you have nice photographs, you must have an expensive camera" She wasn't so jovial when her roast came out and I said "Nice meat, you must have a well nice cooker"
-
Wicked thread! The pic's on my Jag thread were 3.2 Sec's to get f25! Loving all of the shots on here! Nice closeup Danlea.

Yeah had to throw a B&W one in! Was lit naturally next to a window, on a black cloth. The headstock is the same colour as the body, phworr! One of my mates refuses to look at it, he says it makes him feel sea sick
