  1. I have put my name down for this, look forward to meeting you all :-)
  2. I have 8 wall hangers, starting to worry now...
  3. I definitely want it, just need someone to buy my very reasonably priced Ashdown rig on eBay first.
  4. I bought one of those on eBay a few months ago - I paid £22 to have it shipped with parcelforce so I don't know where he got his shipping cost from?
  5. I recently had to start wearing varifocals which are bigger and heavier than my old glasses. Positioning is critical for the focus to work so the arms are set to grip my head much tighter, uncomfortable at first but I have got used to it. The added bonus is that they don't slip down my nose. I guess the point I am trying to make is that you may not need to buy anything, just a bit of frame adjustment required which most opticians will do for free.
  6. Paying by PayPal gives you as much protection as paying with a credit card. PayPal always favours the buyer in disputes.
  7. Can't get it all in one photo... The departure lounge ^^
  8. I have watched a couple struggle to sell on eBay recently at ~£200, which is crazy for such a good bass. I quite fancy adding one to my collection but am a little over-committed at the moment otherwise I would make you an offer on payday. (I have chronic GAS so may yet find a way to justify it!)
  9. I have a Harley Benton 5-string in my collection (a B-550-FL) and it's amazing value for money. The 4-string version is about £120 + shipping brand new. The machine heads were a bit crap so I changed them, added a decent set of flatwounds and it's great :-)
  10. I just spotted this - pretty sure it's not a genuine CT but it looks nice nonetheless. https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F183058134086 There are some really interesting basses in Japan it seems :-)
  11. Whilst I have every sympathy for the poor fella in the linked article I can't help thinking that someone who is likely to black out at the wheel probably shouldn't be in that line of work. Couriers are under tremendous pressure, it's certainly not a job I would like to have.
  12. That looks really good, do you think it would look better with black hardware?
  13. I was watching that too, although it was too far from me really. I certainly didn't expect it to get that price and wouldn't be at all surprised to see it relisted.
  14. The body itself is pretty good - the paint finish is a different story..
  15. I can't help with the comparison but do have an RBX765A - it's a fantastic bass. Low action, nice slim neck and a massive range of tones.
  16. Thanks guys. I will be creating a build thread soon on the JB Special - it's been properly abused but I think I can save it. It looked like this when I got it! Yes that is white emulsion - about 4mm thick in places..
  17. Hi Caretaker, thought you might like to know there is a Washburn Status 1000 on eBay right now. Hopefully this link will work.. https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F332528912294 I have been considering it myself but as I really don't need it will happily stay out of the bidding if it helps.
  18. Thanks I guess I should provide a list. Pictured, top row left to right are Hutchins Jazz copy, Freya P51 copy, Hutchins Thunderbolt and Spector Q5 Pro. Bottom row left to right are Epiphone Thunderbird, Tenson Jumbo, Allen Eden Jazz, Yamaha RBX765, Fender MIJ Jazz Bass Special (currently in bits for neck straightening) Harley Benton 5-string fretless, Washburn Hammerhead RB-2002, Washburn B10/B20 bitsa special, Retrovibe Evo 1 with Hipshot and finally my BC Rich NT Zombie which I have christened Dolores (and somewhat morbidly has a Warwick Casket coffin case to travel in) I will pick up a Retrovibe Zygote in a week or so. Plans are to get a much more upmarket fretless 4 string, a similar quality 5 string fretted and then see what comes up!
  19. Hi folks, the name's Brendon but I have been known on the internet as BreadBin for coming up 20 years. I've been playing bass on and off for nearly 30, nearly sold my last bass last year and then realised what a mistake that would be. Fast forward 6 months and I now have 14 here with number 15 arriving in a week! I can't resist an eBay bargain but will run out of space soon, although I do live by the guitar shop mantra of the correct number of guitars is the number you already have +1. I reckon I can comfortably get 18 in my music room so will be hitting the classifieds shortly..
